I was initially drawn to Mumm because my husband received a one year club membership (fantastic gift). We don't love their wines, but they are certainly good enough, especially for the price. The tasting is a big impersonal, but it's still a fun experience and we keep going back. They have a really great wine club- regular shipments, free tastings, and sizeable discounts. Now we had just done a tasting at Another winery and then made our way to Mumm. It was great. I loved the table service. So much more fun than standing in a crowded room trying to enjoy time with friends and your wine. The only draw back- not enough snacks! Great place for sparkling wines! I love coming here because of the beautiful view which you get while sitting outside on the patio sipping your sparkling wine. So very relaxing for sure! My hands down favorite sparkling wine here is the Cuvee M Red, as it does have a slight sweet taste to it. I also enjoy their Cuvee M, Demi Sec as well as their Santana Brut. What I also love about Mumm is that their definition of a tasting portion is nearly a full glass, as opposed to other wineries where you barely get anything to cover the bottom of your glass. :) No reservations required either. This was our second visit to Mumm because we love sparkling wine. The first time we came here we did the guided tour which I believe was tour and then a tasting. This time we came back just for the tasting and their sparkling wine did not disappoint. The tasting area overlooks their vineyard and it's almost like a cafe like seating both indoor and outdoor. Our server Frances (sp?) was great she explained what we were tasting and before we ordered a glass she gave us a "splash" of it along with a similar sparkling wine to compare. If you like sparkling wine go here and expect a nice laid back atmosphere and plenty of tiny bubbles. read more

I'm not too into red wines, or any wine, except the real sweet kinds that only have like 5% alcohol and come in fruity flavors. So during my trip, it seemed good to try some sparkling wines before getting the real stuff. The place is very nice. There's plenty of outdoor seating on their patio, and the view is beautiful. I'm sad that I forgot to take the obligatory tourist picture with my boyfriend. The pricing for the tasting is pretty expensive compared to other wineries. It was a Saturday, so it was more on the busy side, but that shouldn't have meant our party needed to get rushed out. The wines were good, but $28 for only three tastings is reallyyyy pushing it. The service was also not that great. The girl who was our "server" (? Not sure what to call her), was not informative or helpful at all. She also seemed very bored and not too happy to be working at the time. And for her to bring out the tab when we haven't even had any drinks poured yet says a lot about her and this establishment. Sadly, it was the only winery I visited all weekend where the service was lacking. Even though the wines were good, I will not be visiting again or recommending this place. read more

I came here on a busy holiday weekend with some friends. We did not have a reservation but were seated outside within 20 minutes which gave us time to look around in their gift shop. Initially the staff seemed overwhelmed by our group of 6 but we were literally the only group that was waiting so I don't know what the fuss was especially since we called ahead about an hour before and told we did not need a reservation. This was also our first and only winery stop that day so we still on our good behavior. All but 2 of us did tastings but it was nice that their menu accommodated our friends who just wanted a specific glass of sparkling instead of going through the tasting. They also had a variety of tasting flights to pick from which was appreciated by those in group that preferred sweeter sparklings. Our host did a great job taking care of our group of 6 but it seems that she lacked knowledge about their club membership. She was kind enough to go get the answers that my friend needed before buying her club membership but I thought that it was strange that as an employee she would not know basic details about shipments and the types of sparkling included. On a final note, I am firm believer that sparkling wine needs to be served chilled. When the weather is hot outside like it was during our visit, the pours get warm unless you chug your tastings the moment you get them. Perhaps there is a way to avoid this from happening by pouring one at a time instead of all 3 or 4 at once on days when the weather is super hot. As for the sparkling, it was just ok. For a few bucks more I would rather get some Vueve or White Star. read more

Really nice vineyard to try lots of sparkling wine and champagne. The view is breathtaking - the rolling mountains and hills in the distance make for an unforgettable visit. The staff is attentive and serves you each wine with a detailed description prior to pouring each one. The best part about this place is the little placecards that they put under each wine - the front of the card details the name of the wine, while the back of the cards have various quotes by famous authors and entertainers regarding champagne. Terrible experience. Went for a 4:30pm tasting, showed up early. Went to 2 wineries before and they literally told us they can't serve us. My friend asked what food options they had, just curious cause we could use a snack option, and they asked "if we had a good time today" .. this is my second time in Napa. Last year our uber driver told us to forget about Mumm cause they think too much about themselves & after this treatment I fully agree. I cannot believe how they treat there guests. If I book an afternoon appointment, you will not be my first visit. So thanks. You're champagne is not that good. We came here on Saturday for a bachelorette party and really enjoyed ourselves! If you love bubbly, this is your place! It's a bit more 'corporate' than a lot of the other vineyards in Napa - hence the 35 minute wait for a table even with a reservation. I am so disappointed in MUMM. I have been there a few times in the past and they are always busy, but when I went on Valentine's Day it was horrible. We were seated on the patio and then nobody came back. We sat there for 15 minutes three servers passed and not one asking if we had been helped. We got the slightly sweet trio, with our favorite part of the flight being the Cuvee M. red sparkling wine. We also shared a classic brut that was just perfect. The ambience was not fancy (like Domaine Chandon), but we liked it. We felt relaxed and unrushed, and the view from the patio was simply beautiful. It was also nice to take our glasses and walk next door to the photography gallery. The exhibition may not have been our favorite, but the combination of bubbly and free art was nice. On a recent trip to Napa, Mumm was the last winery we visited and it left a wonderful impression. While it was raining when we arrived, the grounds looked gorgeous and the ambiance indoors was welcoming and pleasant. Claudia took great care of us, was friendly and full of information. We even wound up buying a bottle of her favorite kind and are looking forward to enjoying it over New Year's Eve. An added bonus was the 2 free photography exhibits they were featuring. Love love love coming to visit Mumm Napa when in the valley. The variety of sparkling wine is exquisite and spans all palettes and budgets. This winery is a super cool place to pick up gifts for coworkers and family left behind when you go on vacation. They serve a small fruit and nut plate that pairs well with the drinks. They also serve soda for the designated driver in your crew. Our server, Annie, was from St. Louis and was great to chit chat with. In addition they applied a hefty military discount to our bill saving us some serious scratch. We sat indoors to enjoy the shade and spectacular view. When we asked to open the sliding glass doors to enjoy the breeze they were very happy to accommodate our request. I have been to a lot of wineries across the US. This is one of the worst. They have a very limited selection. Primarily sweet wines. Host and servers were rude and unprofessional. Unnecessarily slamming bottles of wine on the table. Wine tasting is expensive for the sampler, better off paying $15 for a single glass. read more

My favorite spot on my last tour in Napa. My fiance and I each got a 3 flute sampler (15 and 18 dollars in price). We were also give a comp sample of their red sparkling wine, which I LOVED! It is the perfect spot to sit and have good conversation among friends. The over look of the vineyard is breaktaking. Their guided tour is also very informational. The art gallery is also a nice touch! All in all, id say make this a definite stop on your tour! read more

Did not expect to enjoy this as much as I did. We sat indoors, inside this large seating area with several huge sliding glass doors open to vineyards only yards away. We were near one of these doors, and it was a beautiful view. I really like sparkling wine, but I can't drink a ton of it. I polished these off without any problem though, as they were quite good. The pours are very generous, and we were even given a free sampling of their sparkling Pinot Noir (again, a decent pour). For $15-18 per person, we each received 3-4 solid glasses of sparkling and still wine. Great value. Our server, France, was great. In addition to our free glass of sparkling Pinot, she was really nice and funny, and offered to take pictures of us just because she saw our cameras out. read more

So with that being said.....Mumm's is an incredible place for wine tasting. Our group of 8 sat outside on an assuming Sunday morning. The view was breath-taking. Miles of vineyards, hills, and sun. The weather could have been better, it was blustery and the wind kept blowing our coasters away...it even blew off some glasses and shattered them. Our server was an incredibly funny, fun, and charming middle aged English woman who gave us some pointers and funny anecdotes. I ordered the "On The Sweet Side" tasting which consisted of a Demi Sec, Cuvee M, and Cuvee M Red. My favorites where the Demi Sec and Cuvee M Red. It was bubbly and fruity...not too strong, just perfect. I constantly buy the Cuvee M Red where ever I see it on sale now. read more

That is how every afternoon I've spent on the Mumm Napa patio has been and I have to say that it is one of my favorite places to stop when we are out in wine country. Our servers have always been courteous and informative, no whiff of pretentiousness and it has always been a wonderful experience. **One "real world" thing I do want to mention about wine country in general is that for the most part we've been able to find the bottles we bought at the wineries for just a tad cheaper on the commercial market. I had a great visit to Mumm when picking up my wine on Sunday, so I figured I would take a moment to give feedback. First, some information for those who have never been to Mumm. They are 90% sparkling wine (they have 2 still wines), so don't go if you don't like bubbly. Second, this is not a small vineyard with a quaint deck. It is a more commercial winery with great bubby. They have a terrific patio and indoor seating that can be at a premium during peak hours - go knowing you may wait. Let them explain the large selection and ask questions. Many people go with a "I was this" mindset and miss out on a great tasting experience. Okay, for my review. I am strongly basing my review on the service of James (who almost always has a hat on or around his neck). I have never had James a wine guide on previous visits and got there a bit late. He explained their closing time policy and encouraged me to venture out on the bubbly. He was attentive, educational, and provided tremendous service. I was delighted to have the terrific service with James as I was unsure of continuing my membership after a prior experience, and he changed my mind! read more
