One of those places open till 6pm on Silverado trail. We came pretty late so this was one of our only options. Their staffs were really helpful and did let us in without reservation, mainly because it was already 5pm but I think we had the golden time with the sunset behind us. They're known and take pride of their sparkling wine so if you're a fan of it, this is your gem. We had the flights to try a bit if everything. The pours were plentiful and the staff was so friendly and generous. I love that they have coasters for the flights so you know what you're drinking and it's easy to follow & compare. read more

Was having a great time sipping wine. I was enjoying a great view after buying multiple bottles from them. Until randomly a dark haired woman came up to me and asked me to leave for no explanation whatsoever. If I had done something wrong i would've like to be corrected for whatever had done! A couple friends and I came here for Mother's Day weekend. We made reservations, and when we arrived the service was great and the view was beautiful. Our Somalia was very helpful, nice and welcoming. We ordered chocolate and flavored water which was really good. They had a cracker and nut option but it did not come with cheese which I think was different I didn't order it because I wanted cheese. My friend is a blogger and she set up her Tripod, one of the staff came from out the back and stated that we couldn't record because we were blocking the walkway. The entire time that we were there no way walked that way nor did anyone else sit by where we were. Again this is a staff that came from out of nowhere and the tripod was set up to where it was only facing us and no one else. I hate to be that person but we know what it was. The second Napa winery experience was a wonderful sparkling wine tasting at Mumm. Continued beautiful weather allowed us to enjoy an outside table. Views of a portion of the vineyard were stunning. Our wine guide was wonderful and was very attentive to our questions and comments. Her suggestions were spot on as we all preferred just about the same tastes. Mumm has a beautiful and very tempting gift shop and again the staff couldn't have been more welcoming. I'm ready to do this again! read more

We had a nice tasting and were set up outside overlooking the vineyard. It was a hot day but there was overhead cover and a slight breeze. Cold water was served alongside the tasting of 4 bubbly selections. We were also brought an additional glass to start things off. A small dish of crackers were provided as snack to go along with the tasting. There are 3 selections of 4 sparkling wines that you can choose from based on your preference. I liked everything in both sets that I tried. Our host provided a few details on where the grapes came from and the sugar content of each one. One thing to note is that apparently the greeter fainted during our tasting and had to be attended to and there was a long break in our tasting. This wasn't a big issue and we were completely understanding and felt bad for the staff member. But when the tasting continued, we were told that we would have to leave soon b/c the table needed to be turned over. It would have been nice to get an extra tasting or something for the delay or for being semi rushed out. Despite this, we still bought a 60 something dollar bottle and tipped on the tasting. There is a parking lot outside and if you are lucky, you may find a spot with a bit of shade. The restrooms are set up outside in a mobile bungalow. This may be a temporary thing. I will likely be back to do another tasting at some point. read more

Came here as a party of 6, but because the mother's don't drink and my sis in law got waaaaay too lit at the last winery, only half of us did the tasting here. Oh my goodness, I feel so sorry that my sister couldn't try the flight because each of the wines we tried were delicious, each being better than the last! After our less than desirable visit to Mumm, they reached out to my niece to offer an apology for how we were treated during our brief visit. The representative explained that they are trying to do better with their customer service and genuinely wanted to make things right. They even went the extra mile and sent us complimentary bottles of wine and flutes so we could enjoy the tasting we had ordered from the comfort of our home. I'm updating my review to 3 stars for their understanding of our situation and agreeing that their staff was to blame for our poor experience. As it turns out, their sparkling wine is quite good, and I'm not the biggest fan of sparkling, so that says something. Hopefully they really have learned from this situation and your experience will be better than our's. Thanks again for reaching out and making things right Mumm, it's good to see a business that really cares about their customers. read more

There's no place quite like Mumm Napa to savor exceptional sparkling wines while enjoying spectacular Napa Valley views. We offer a range of memorable experiences. We are open everyday, 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, last seating 5:00 pm . Reservations are recommended but not required. All guests in your party must be 21+, we are unable to accommodate anyone under the age of 21, including infants and children. As of July 1, 2024, to ensure the most pleasant experience for all guests, pets are not permitted on property.

History

Established in 1986.

In 1979 In The French Champagne house of G.H. Mumm launched Project Lafayette--a covert operation to identify ideal winegrowing areas in America. Their secret agent? None other than top Mumm winemaker Guy Devaux, who roamed the country incognito, buying grapes, tasting wines, and staking out prime spots for Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Gris--the main varietals in sparkling wine. When Devaux sampled grapes from the fog-shrouded Carneros region at the south end of Napa Valley, he knew the long, cool growing season was behind their vibrant fruit expression and bright acidity. He knew he'd discovered the perfect spot to source sparkling wine. Mumm Cuvee Napa was founded in 1986, and today we remain the only sparkling wine house with the Napa Valley appellation on every label. We embrace our centuries-long French heritage with methode traditionelle, the winemaking style of Champagne, and we cultivate the distinctive terroir of Napa Valley.

Our hostess was a sweet lady and really talked about the history well. At the end we sat down at the larger table and finished the tasting with one extra pour. The tasting was great and prices were quite fair but I do think I prefer the more private feel of a smaller tasting, with 2-4 people as at times our host stood on one side chatting to the large group and we really couldn't ask questions or hear what was going on the other side of the table. Would come back and did love their rose.

Our host Whitney was superb and deserves some praise (can't spell 'Praise' without a 'raise'). She was sweet, warm and knowledgeable about their wines and made for good interaction. I think we tried about 7 wines and this is rare when I say that I enjoyed every one of them. I ended up buying 3 different bottles which is the most I have ever bought at a single winery and am kicking myself as I should have bought a couple more. They always make great gifts or party welcomes. I think I've been to close to 25 wineries in the Napa area alone and this one has got to rank in my Top 5. I will be back for sure.

Chris was informative, passionate, and knowledgeable. I would ask for him as a host again! However, he a attend your wine Club member. I really don't want to hear the story one more time! This is a beautiful winery and their new tasting room will open soon... I'm very excited to see how it is. I suggest if you make an appointment for tasting here that you make it earlier than 3:30 since the wine Club manager pretty much came in and told us it was time to go because they were closing at 5. We did not have any additional tastings other than what was on the menu and we did not try to take up any extra time, but we were picking up our wine shipment, which was being put together and not altered ... again, not taking up any more than the scheduled . After having been a member of multiple wineries in Napa, this was the first time I've ever experienced someone rushing us out... which did not leave a good taste in our mouth figuratively, not literally,because the wine was awesome as usual!!

The sparkling wines, which I was most excited to try, unfortunately fell short of my standards--they just didn't have the depth or flavor I was hoping for. The service also left something to be desired; the staff seemed a bit inattentive and the experience felt less welcoming than I expected from a winery of this caliber. That said, the property itself is beautiful. The views from the winery are lovely and offer a picturesque backdrop for photos or a casual stroll. 'Been stopping here for more than 5 years, an average of once a month. Great sparkling wine club. Yes they can get busy like any other top-notch tasting room in the Valley, but we've never felt rushed. Great View. Staff is knowledgeable and patient, with a wide variety of personalities and experience. Pet Friendly. Hey Pamela, maybe learn WHY they have cute yellow cracker boxes before you trash them! They're mini versions of their huge yellow grape boxes you probably didn't notice when you left in a snit, and MUCH nicer than the cheap World Market ceramic dishes that replaced them. The bias staff members you guys have working at your winery need to held accountable for profiling a gay police officer, a black DA, an Asian engineer, and a disabled veteran from doing a simple wine tasting. Across the street from a much busier and social media popular place, it is a much different vibe here than there. While the building is the star across the way, the star at Cuvaison is the land. When driving in, you won't be blown away by the sight, but don't a judge by its cover. You've got to dig in and get into the content of the story, and same with Cuvaison. We walked in, and the views get better. The seating area provides sweeping views of their property, rolling vineyards and even a small body of water. We were greeted, and as if they were psychic, knew who we were. We made the choice to sit outdoors on a pleasant Napa day, and it was awesome. Vibes were nice, and you don't get overwhelmed. Other places are seemingly packed like sardines comparatively and extremely loud, it was the opposite here. Our wines we tasted were awesome, and the person who helped us throughout our tasting was great. Of all the wine tastings we've done in the Napa area, this is probably my favorite one so far. The tasting was tailored to us, and he took our personalities, preferences, and more into account. Nicasio did an awesome job. We didn't have one bad sip, and he did a great job of sharing, explaining, and more. Genuinely an incredible experience because of him. When in Napa, we'll definitely return.

Unfortunately, our experience was marred by the behavior of an individual named Richard Lowitz, who presented himself as the manager and owner of the winery. Upon our arrival, while we were enjoying a light lunch in our cars, Mr. Lowitz approached us in a confrontational manner, ordering us to leave the premises immediately. Despite our calm explanation that we had a reservation and proof of payment, he dismissed us outright, claiming we were scammed. His tone was disrespectful and belittling. After several minutes of distressing interactions, it became clear that Mr. Lowitz had made an error regarding our reservation. Although he eventually acknowledged our booking, the initial confrontation and his aggressive demeanor left a negative impression. Instead of following through with the reservation, we left and went to a wonderful winery a few minutes away. Rather than apologizing, Mr. Lowitz confronted my friends and family begging that we don't leave poor reviews. I want to commend Backstage Winery for taking appropriate action by terminating Mr. Lowitz's employment following this incident. However, I feel it is important for potential visitors to be aware of the treatment my friends/family and I received. It is my hope that the winery will ensure better training and management practices in the future to prevent similar situations from occurring.

It truly felt like we were chatting it up with some old friends. They play off of each other well and the playful and positive energy was very well received. It's so nice to have the ladies in the house! As someone who loves Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, I instantly fell in love with the wines here. They are soft and easy drinking. Smooth like butter, really. The Chardonnay is citrusy and creamy which is how I prefer my Chards (although I don't mind buttery every now and again). The Pinot stole my heart. It was a mix of everything that I adore: floral, fruit forward, round, and it has this amazing lingering finish that it just like woooow. Loved it to absolute pieces. Honestly, I enjoyed every single wine that I tried. Even the Merlot was tasty and I've never been much of a Merlot gal, but dayum. The wines are truly undeniable. Such a wonderful experience here. I will definitely be back for more of that delicious wine and to hear more funny stories.

Beth is delightful and extremely knowledgeable about wines and chips so we are sitting down for the chip and sip tasting today on 6/6/25. The experience is mind blowing and oh so yum! Wines are fantastic on their own but enhanced with food. The owners enjoyed successful careers in the travel industry with one them being the co-founder of Oceania Cruise Lines, a favorite of ours. Silver Trident is a first class experience. Beautiful tasting room, outstanding and attentive service and very nice wines. Easy 5 star rating. Book the potato chip extravaganza or their pizza pairing. It is a memorable experience!
