I was nervous to try this place for the first time on Father's Day when my Veteran husband requested a Pancake (..yes...pancake ‍) ! The reviews on Google were mainly about the "waiting for food/service/seating " *Something told me TRY IT ANYWAYS!* The family-of-4 loaded up and drove 15 min! Upon arrival, the strip mall was clean and the Restaurant was poppin'! I was prepared to wait for host/service (& kept my mindset positive) WE WERE GREETED by the kind hostess IMMEDIATELY, & promised a table within 10 min ONLY TO BE SEATED WITHIN 7!! Yay! The space was bright & tight yet purposefully placed. the booth we sat in felt cozy, & had perfect people watching opportunities (as well as kitchen watching). The kind handsome young lad that was our waiter instantly gave down to earth and humble vibes. His quiet deep voice, dreads & baggy jeans screamed "youngster with a passion" (honestly I enjoyed his presence, he reminded me of my son) He showed up often enough, yet still gave us our family connection space! So GOOD! So so good)*** I kept warning my family "NOW REMEMBER, these are special waffles.. they have to milk the WAFFLE COW FIRST, SO PUT ON YOUR PATIENT PANTS". We ordered drinks from their seasonal menu (a must) : The Coconut Chai tea Iced! My Husband was stationed in Hawaii for most our families life, and this drink brought us back to the Islands Our food arrived HOT & fresh within 10-14minutes! Every item was superbly smothered in the sauce of choice 1st meal: eggs Benedict ! I always have to order extra hollandaise sauce: NOT TODAY!! The sauce was buttery smooth and the waffle was crisp yet soft, everything was delicious ! I needn't add a thing! 2nd meal: The BLT (-added smashed avocado) my daughter is the a BLT critic, she crafts them up, and orders them often! Her words : "wow this might as well be the best BLT I have ever tasted!!" 3rd meal: my son orders the chicken and waffles, the gravy was the star of this dish! His discovery was mixing the warm syrup with the seasoned gravy to add the perfect sweet savory concoction to every chicken and waffle bite! 4the meal: my husband was craving a classic omelette! He chose to do the build drone omelette, he put exactly what he wanted on it nothing more nothing less! And of course he chose the waffle to go! From the warm better, to the sweet syrup and everything in between from potatoes to beverages to heaven and back! WE ALL HIGHLY Highly recommend this mom-&-Pop shop! But it took 5-10 for someone to take our drink order, 10 min+ to get any drinks, and more than 15min+ to get a check. We never got refills on any ice water & the cups are tiny. They've got no soda machine or alcohol, so everything comes in a bottle. So I hope you don't go thirsty! The inside of the restaurant is very simple, but we didn't have to wait for a table around midday on Sunday. They also have a few tables outside. The food was good. What a nice little surprise in Liberty Hill! I went with my mom to take her to brunch and the food didn't disappoint. The biscuits and gravy, with the homemade biscuit, was one of the better ones I've had in recent memory! The pork gravy was extremely flavorful and a bit deeper and complex. My mom has the eggs benedict two ways; with salmon and classic. The hollandaise was spot on and rich, but the eggs were over cooked and weren't runny at all. Which was surprising because the food took a while to come out .. which is one of my only pieces of criticism (how long it took to get the food after ordering). The only other one would be the tap water/table ice water they provide. It was rough. We bought bottled water instead -- so perhaps they need a new filter or something. Otherwise, great little spot! The owners are really nice and friendly and the restaurant has a good vibe. read more

First, everything tasted great! Waffles waffles waffles! The servings are normal portion sized and filled with flavor. Not too much of any particular spice or ingredient. The waffles taste delicious. This location is pretty small for a breakfast/brunch spot so expect a wait and some tables that aren't the most comfortable or conventionally placed. The staff was attentive and vibrant, with multiple servers, hosts and cooks by the looks of it. You do have a wait, but it's worth it for good food. They don't have fountain drinks here, but have a variety of normal breakfast and brunch drinks (minus the spirited kind). We went for the first time on a weekend with family from out of state. The place was super busy so we waited for 15 min before a small booth was available (4 adults and 2 kids). We placed our orders and waited and waited and waited while we saw other tables that came in after us get their food. Once some larger tables became available we asked if we could move so we'd be more comfortable and the staff moved us without issue. At that point they noticed we had been there for ~40 min and still dint have our food. The staff apologized and made sure our food came out next. The food was delicious and the staff were nice. As far as the pancake vs waffle debate goes, I'm a waffle fan all the way and this place delivers on it. There are a ton of waffle options to choose from whether it's sweet or savory. You're able to pick between the liege, brussels, and cornbread waffle, although they have recommendations for which dish goes best for which waffle. You order at the counter and they'll bring your food out to your table. I got to try the waffle sampler, which included half portions of The OG, Lox of Love, and AvoMunch. The OG consists of fried chicken with a maple drizzle. I opted for the spicy maple drizzle, and while the flavor was good, I wish I had asked for it on the side. I would've rather preferred to portion the drizzle out myself instead of it drowning the chicken and waffle. It came with a pork gravy that, by itself, was delicious! The Avomunch was your standard avocado toast, but on a waffle. It was good, but nothing noteworthy. The Lox of Love with smoked salmon was my least favorite. The cream cheese was too sweet and it was smothered in it. Again, I would've preferred to portion this out myself. I will also note that the waffles do get soggy the longer they sit in the drizzle, avocado, cream cheese, etc. We also ordered the loaded tots. These were crispy and had tons of flavor with all the toppings. My only gripe was that the provolone slice on top wasn't melted so it didn't have the same ooey-gooey texture like the rest of the dish. The philly cheesesteak was on their holiday menu and it was one of the only items without a waffle (not sure if waffle fries count though!). Came for breakfast this Sunday morning and it was not too busy. Which is always good. However, after placing our order (shrimp and grits and the munch and rise) it took 40 minutes to get our food. We had to ask about it as no one was checking on us or providing an update. The food was good, and I would not mind the wait if there was at least a complimentary appetizer. We are newly moved to the Austin area and decided to try a new brunch place while we were out and about. As usual, we consulted Yelp and based our choice on reviews. We were about 45 minutes away from this restaurant but decided the reviews and menu made it worth the drive. We arrived and walked in at exactly 1:30pm on a Saturday. The restaurant was about half filled with diners. We were greeted by two employees who stated, "Are you here for a to-go order, because we are only currently doing to-go." Translation, "we close at 2:00pm and don't want to wait and serve you because it's 30 minutes before we close." We explained that we had driven 45 minutes away to eat there and the response was "Sorry." I'm sorry, but this is the absolute WORST customer service we've ever received, and we eat out a good bit. If you aren't open for dining past 1;30pm, state that on your signage on the door which clearly says you are open until 2. We have daughters who have all worked for the Pappas organization, so we understand the hate towards people who show up one minute before closing and never want to be "those people". But being turned away 30 minutes before you close after traveling a good distance to specifically eat at your restaurant is ridiculous.
