I came to this location last month for a sweet treat! I decided to use the 'toogoodtogo' app for the visit as it helps keep me regulated. This bake shop has so many goodies that its hard to control myself when here and using the app forces me to only get what has been preselected for me. In the surprise bag, I received a decadent layer cake. This Oreo cake is actually beyond decadent and if you love Oreos as much as I do, this is the cake for you. Filled with rich spongy chocolate and the buttercream is literally to die for! Three layers of tender, moist chocolate cake are stacked on top of one another, filled with thick layers of fluffy, buttercream. Something about all the cookies blitzed into the frosting on top is just transformative. The cookies on top add crunch and interest and depth to the cake. When viewing the cake from the side, the look the chocolate ganache drip is just EVA-RE-THANG! Aside from the cake, the shop is eclectic and every inch of the shop is filled with something interesting to see, from the chalkboard to the weathered shiplap and display case. I love this local bakery. They participate in Too Good to Go, so none of their products go to waste at the end of the day. I have tried many of their products and have been impressed. My favorite item has been the double chocolate cupcake. Delicious! The oatmeal cookie sandwich was tasty, too. I enjoyed a peach turnover there once as well, and a raspberry filled donut. Hidden away in Leander. They have amazing pastries and cakes. I usually get the Sonhos or Malasadas here. Small little bake shop with ton of outdoor seating. I would recommend coming early as they can get busy during the weekend. Service is great, they do their best to keep up with the long line. When I came today it was their 6th birthday. Casa Costa is not home to delicious coffees, teas, pastries, cookies, etc. , but they also host the occasional artisan fair on the grassy lawn surrounding this former home-turned-business. The outdoor seating is so enjoyable under the trees, and there is ample parking. My only wish is that they were open on Sundays, so I had the option to go either weekend day. On weekdays if you stop in to grab a sweet from the display or custom order, you can also find people working remotely, which is always something I keep an eye out for, given my hybrid schedule. Dunno why we took so long to try this place!! Went for breakfast today, and were surprised to see so many people, it's definitely a loca favorite. So it took few minutes to order as there was a quite a long line. We ordered: coffee, Portuguese empanadas( veggie puff ), malasanda ( Portuguese donut), steak fries and coxinha. We wanted to try chicken puff, but they were out. Everything is so fresh and so good, Veggie puff: it was not as crispy as we expected but that filling was delicious, and my kiddo, who wanted chicken puff, and dint wanted to try veggie puff, liked it:) Malasanda: it's made to order, so it was piping hot, nice crisp on the outside, soft & light inside, it wasn't sweet as it is, so the sugar outside balanced out very nicely. Coxinha: it comes 2 per order and by the the time I get my hand to it, hubby and kiddo has already finished it, but tried the sauce it came with, and loved it, needless to say they liked it:) Steak fries: it was good, it needed bit more crispness but still was good.
