We were taking a road trip to Tahoe for the weekend and earlier in the ride we had discussed treating ourselves to a milkshake over the weekend. I probably wouldn't stop here again. I've been so excited to try this place, as I expected them to have some really good ice cream! They had a lot of flavors to choose from but their ice cream was lacking in taste. I got a fudge flavored and was expecting either big veins of fudge or chunks of fudge but essentially got vanilla ice cream with a tiny bit of chocolate syrup. My boy friend got the pina colada, you could taste the coconut but not the pineapple. read more

Munnerlyn's Ice Creamery is a gem! When company visits from out of town, we always make sure to take them to Munnerlyn's - it's a local favorite to be sure - especially during the summer months. I can't begin to express the difference between mass-produced, store bought ice creams and the unique and delicious concoctions that they make and serve her - it's night and day! The Kit Carson Krunk is to die (my fav) but they have so many amazing selections to choose from I guarantee you'll find something that will knock your socks off! This place has always been a community favorite. The homemade ice cream is always something to rave about afterwards. Although, the last few times I have come here, I have left very saddened and disappointed by the lack of customer service, interaction with customers, and atmosphere due to the teenage workers. They are inconsiderate, not helpful, unpleasant, unwelcoming, and make the experience very uncomfortable. The most recent time I was in, I walked in the door, the staff looked at me and I was offered no hello. I felt like I was being rushed to order and like I was an inconvenience to them. I am not saying that people should not continue coming here or supporting the business, I just really hope that some etiquette can be attained by the current and future employees. read more

My car broke down once in the front of his store on a busy ice-Cream weekend...I went in to ask him if it was ok to leave my car there, and he actually answered honestly, and said no! I just turned around and started to walk out without saying a word and he stopped me to say, "You look like you could use a hug!" Boy...was he ever right! Stopped by yesterday for the Lemon Sorbet. The employee took my cash then proceeded to pick up the waffle cone, fill it without wearing gloves or washing her hands. I was taken back especially since we're in a pandemic. I feel this is unacceptable! This is a good way to end a business. The owner should consider having a separate employee to run the cash register While a second employee handles the ice cream. You might want to invest in gloves as well! I'm all for supporting small businesses. Unfortunately I will not be back unless the hygiene process changes. read more

Ice cream so imaginative, creamy and delicious that I've driven from the Bay Area to savor it even on a cold day! Really, this stuff is SO GOOD. My favorite? Kit Carson Crunk (because coffee / toffee chunks = heaven). But I have also tried and loved their lemon sorbet (perfectly tart!) their coconut chocolate chip (taste the real coconut, not that dried flake junk, with hints of lemon in some bites, and tiny chips of deeply satisfying dark chocolate) and perhaps my second fave is their raspberry (a gorgeous pink/purple color that looks like the perfect Easter Egg, with all the flavor of fresh raspberries but none of the seeds stuck in your teeth. Plus micro hockey pucks of melting chocolate, just waiting in there to delight you when you least expect it!) Well worth a trip Up North, and who doesn't love a road trip anyway? Or, count your lucky stars if the owner, Stewart, happens to bring Ice Cream to a community event! read more
