Finally stopped here on the way to work one morning. Great consistency on the cake donuts, but the selection is mostly in line with what you'd find at a Dunkin Donuts. Employees didn't seem too enthusiastic, but I'm sure part of that comes with waking up early and waiting on people at a donut shop. Prices were fair for the product. read more

My husband and I get donuts here on the weekends in the morning often. All of them have always been great. The best are the cake donuts they are always fresh when we get them. They service is average nothing to exciting. Most of the time when we go like I said it is in the morning on the weekend so it is busy, so I do not think they are trying hard for customer service just trying to get you in and out. My first visit was great, staff was friendly, donuts hot and fresh and the place was bustling...I kept thinking about those donuts and bugged my boyfriend to take me, well we went one night a couple weeks ago after 10 pm.....We might as well have been standing outside....two workers, one came out from the back like "Oh yeah what?" We bought half a dozen cold as ice donuts....my boyfriend wanted a Boston cream but they didn't have them.....when we pulled out of Munsters parking lot he saw Dunkin Donuts right across the street and looked at me and frowned. If you ask, they have caramel frosting hidden in the back, and they will make you caramel pecan cinnamon rolls. They don't last 10 minutes when I get to the office. Ok. Let's make this clear: I am an absolute, die-hard fan of Munster Donuts. They are to die for, and quite possibly the BEST donuts I have ever tasted. I want everyone to taste them. EVERYONE. BUT my ONLY issue is the reason I don't give them five stars is the terrible customer service. I have been in there at all times of the day and night and with the exception of a couple nice girls, the service is terrible. The staff isn't friendly nor are the welcoming. Everytime I go in there I feel like I am committing a mortal sin by making them give me a dozen donuts. Since they're 24 hours, going in to hang and enjoy a donut or 2 with friends late at night would be a great idea, but the atmosphere is so unwelcoming I would rather sit and eat my donut and drink my coffee in the car. Because I love their donuts so freaking much I keep going back. I've worked in retail and I think providing good cutomer service is 100 percent necessary even if the product isnt quite up to par or in this case, the selection of donuts is few and far between..there are definitely times i have gone in and they have 3 types of donuts to choose from. I'm sure your tip cup would be little brighter as well. SO. With that being said, MD I adore your wonderful, tastey donuts, I just wish you guys would smile a little more or at least be pretend nice, because if I didn't love your donuts so much and you weren't 24 hours, I wouldn't come back. I have worked at a Dunkin Donuts for many years and the place I worked at had 2 of the best bakers. Well.....when I tried Munster Donuts they were just as good if not better. So PLEASE keep your Bakers happy as they do make your place the BEST,even bakeries don't have the gift that your Bakers do. Every time I go to Dyer I stop and get a dozen just to bring home. This place is a region classic. I remember going here as a kid to get a dozen donuts with my parents - was a highlight of my week. I remember going in high school after driving around for a couple hours and getting some coffee to fuel some more drive/music time with friends. Same with most local grocery stores too! (Notice in these grocery stores and donut shops there are no mixing machines/ovens).
