The restaurant is very conveniently located on Hendersonville. Our service was very kind. That's and service was rapid. Honestly, the food was not very good. We ate less than half of it. We brought the rest home and discarded it. While the food had a very attractive appearance, the taste was just not wonderful. We spent 50.00 and did not leave ravings about how good it was or how much we enjoyed it. I do not like to review negatively but sushi should be fresh, tasty and satisfying. I don't think we will eat here again.

This was our first time visiting. We chose to eat here purely off of Yelp reviews. We arrived as a party of 5 for a late lunch. When we entered, we were promptly greeted and told we could sit anywhere. There was only one other small party dining in. The decor is simple but clean. Our server was nice and patient as we asked questions. There was a board with specials listed behind the register. Our server took our drink orders and then promptly returned for our food orders. He was knowledgeable about how to accommodate my son's gluten allergy. The food arrived quickly. Everything was good. The tempura batter was not too heavy. The sushi portions were generous. Overall, it was a good experience. We would definitely try them again.

Good sushi, Good service, I would visit again. This was a nice dining experience and the food was fresh. They add a lot of extra sauces and stuff and I tend to like very plain, traditional rolls. They were very accommodating and made my sushi just the way I like it. The restaurant is small and the decor leans toward dated but the staff was friendly and the food fresh. This is not a fancy high end sushi place but it is a great take out or quick meal place to grab a bite. It was fairly quiet when we were in the restaurant, being the weekend before all restaurants went to carry out only. I think people had already started staying home.

We are new to Asheville and decided to try Mr Sushi because it's close to where we live. We always enjoy supporting local 'Mom n Pop' businesses, as opposed to corporate, and we were not disappointed. It almost feels like grandma is lovingly making your favorite dish from behind the sushi bar. The service was excellent. Our server was friendly, attentive, and very accommodating. He didn't seem to mind at all that we ordered sushi 3 more times after our initial order. The sushi is fresh, well prepared, and delicious. The atmosphere is laid back, unpretentious (it's located in a small strip mall) and simple in decor. This is a welcoming place with great food and my family and I were able to relax and enjoy our time together after a long week. We're definitely going back for more.

10/10 will be back! The staff was super friendly and accommodating. The food was outstanding! And the food came at a great price. Some music would have been good but I just enjoyed the company I was with anyway. Make sure when you go to pay attention to the chalkboard behind the register because there are specials on the board. We got 20% off on the hibachi chicken. We will be going back to get more sushi and to try the katsu next.

For Valentines Day my husband and I decided sushi in the sunshine was what we wanted, and our to-go order from Mr Sushi made the day deliciously special. I got the NY Roll - highly recommend!

Dragon roll, crab Rangoon roll, & tasty Inari roll with shrimp. May not be able to tell from the pics-- these are the biggest rolls ever!

So far this is the best sushi I've tried in Asheville. I'm on the hunt for better (and open to suggestions) and this is as good as it gets here. My favorite part, besides the tasty sushi, is the prices are affordable for such huge portion sizes. The largest sushi rolls! My only complaints are the menu is limited, after a handful of visits, it feels like we've tried everything. And some items are hit & miss. Didn't care much for the tempura shrimp or chicken spring roll wraps that were a special for the week. We love the Inari rolls, sweet and spicy, and a nice twist on a sushi roll. Also the crab Rangoon is good, the Carolina roll, spider roll, and scallops roll. I definitely prefer Mr. Sushi to Green Tea and Wasabi. Just know that it's not the fanciest and next to a gas station, and you won't be disappointed.

Empty and rude! I will not be returning to this restaurant. The fact they have multiple locations is crazy.

So so good and very reasonably priced. Don't let the fact that it's attached to a gas station throw you off. Absolutely a hidden gem!

We appreciate the Yelp recommendations to try Wasabi…read more I am often skeptical of places along a main tourist area but Wasabi is the real deal...at least for the area. We were quickly seated at the sushi bar and the restaurant filled up quickly with other lunch clientele after that time. Sushi chef was efficient and our eel roll was fresh and delicious. Only 8 pieces so not that large. Would have paid more for a larger portion as we were sharing everything. Hot melt in your mouth yummy shumai were devoured. I saved some wasabi to add a little spice. Tempura appetizer included 2 large shrimp and veggie assortment. All around good meal!

The service was great, I was seated immediately and my server was attentive without being intrusive. I ordered the yellowtail and scallion roll and the godzilla roll (tempura spicy tuna, tobiko, scallion, eel sauce & spicy mayo). My lunch appeared very quickly. Both were very good, the godzilla roll in particular was extremely tasty, the crisp crackle of the tempura blending perfectly with the satiny spicy tuna. The heat level was perfect, building over the course of eating the whole roll. This is definitely one of my favorite downtown lunch spots, and they deserve the accolades they have received as the best sushi spot in Asheville.

It was not overly busy, but definitely on the noisy side, which was expected due to all the hard surfaces. It could get loud if it was busy. I was greeted promptly, and my server arrived moments after I sat down. I ordered the Miso soup, a Red Blossom roll with tempura shrimp, and the Yakisoba with chicken. The miso soup was great, a 5. The red blossom roll was very good, tasty with a nice crunch from the tempura, a 4.5. The yakisoba portion was huge, it was a bit on the savory / bland side for my taste, but it's been a good 10 years since my last yakisoba, so a 3.5. I'll likely get two lunches out of the leftovers. The men's room was very clean. Overall, a four star rating. I may well be back, if so, next time I'll either get a second hand roll, or try something else. Their hibachi dishes sound interesting.

We finished up with the carrots and bbq ribs, which were crispy on the outside but tender as you bit into the rib meat. Service was stellar as expected for any Michelin rated restaurant. The ambiance was calm but lively, kind of like if your therapist also served sashimi. I went all in: Sushi Deluxe, Ikura sushi, plus mackerel, scallop, and baby octopus sashimi. Everything was super fresh -- the kind of fish that practically winks at you on its way down. Washed it all down with hot sake and green tea because balance, obviously. Our server was a sweetheart -- originally from China, lived in NYC, now soaking up Asheville life. I forgot her name (and regret it), but she made the whole night better. The sushi chefs seemed authentically Japanese and knew their craft -- no corners cut, just clean, delicious perfection. Cute décor, a cozy atrium-style room in the back, and easy parking -- which in Asheville is practically a love language. Highly recommend if you like your sushi fresh, your vibe relaxed, and your sake warm enough to make you forget what day it is.
