Was looking for lunch while out shopping in the area and came across Sumo. We headed in around 12:30 on a Saturday for lunch. My mom got the sashimi lunch special, and I got the two roll lunch special. Great prices and it's rare to find a lunch special on a Saturday! I got the spicy salmon and spicy crab roll. Both very good. We shared and order of calamari which was fried and came with a very good sauce. Highly recommend if you're in the area and looking for a delicious lunch or dinner. Solid road food option when staying at nearby Hyatt or Courtyard. Take out or dine in were good options. Pad Thai was a generous serving but didn't have the Thai balance of salty/sour/spicy/sweet. Tasted more like lo mien. The Spicy fried chicken was lovely with steamed rice and dipping sauce. The side of hibachi chicken was a winner at $5. Juicy, well seasoned chicken thigh cooked on hibachi. We didn't order sushi but would try it as the sushi chef was pretty busy. I can recommend trying one of the many hibachi choices. read more

We have been stopping by for delicious sushi every time we're in the area and have also been trying a few other items on the menu. Today I had the special pho but was not so impressed, just not enough flavor for me. Last time I've had the curry that was delicious and I've also had a bite or two of the teriyaki chicken as well, both very good though sometimes the veggies are a bit overcooked. Service can be attentive if not crazy busy as it was at lunchtime today. They honor lunch prices on the weekend just so you know which may have been why it was so busy. The side salad with ginger dressing is amazing!! It was a bit chilly inside today, unknown if the heat was on at all. Everyone had their jackets on. Sorry no pictures today. read more

Excellent food and very fast service. Nice to avoid the downtown Hendo crowds and get quality Asian food. Ribeye teriyaki was perfectly seared and disappeared before I could snap a photo! We came in for a friends birthday and were seated by 2:10. We had our drink order taken and when the server came back he informed us that we had to leave by 2:30 pm. I decided not to stay as we were treated like an inconvenience. My critique is that if you close at 2:30 pm and don't want anyone in the restaurant by that time maybe you should close at 2:00 pm and close the doors. That's fine. Their loss. I took my money to Fahrenheit Pizza a few minutes away and had an amazing meal with excellent customer service.
