Highly recommend dining here for delicious food at a low price. They bring you soup as soon as you sit down. The reason for a star deduction is they brought our entrees right after receiving the salad and egg roll appetizer. I would have preferred time to eat the salad ($2) and egg rolls ($2 for 2)before receiving my entree. I replaced my rice with extra veggies to my chicken hibachi($8) for $1 and then a side of fried rice for $2.50. Such a deal! I should have not ordered the rice and just ate from my friend's rice because it's a large portion. The food is fresh and they use high quality ingredients. They leave a bottle of white yum yum sauce at your table! It's so good. Plenty of parking in the attached lot. We saw many people getting take out. It's a no thrills ambiance but amazing food and affordable.

Hot tea with empty soup bowl. Yum

Server came over promptly and greeted us with bowls of Japanese style onion soup! Very good with an unexpected hint of sweetness. Hot tea is Lipton served in a big mug lends the restaurant to an almost home-y feel.

    Ew

My carrots, rice, chicken, broccoli, and noodles all taste like rats. How do you fuck up rice? Unfortunately Fuji Yama was my last resort because Brevard closes town on Sunday.

Hard to complain about a place where dinner for two is $26 and you go home with leftovers. Menu is simple (meat + rice + veggies) but tasty.

Casual hibachi, great portions and good food for the cheap prices. About the best i could ask for coming off a backpacking trip.

A lot of cafes in and around the greater Asheville area have a similar vibe. Small, hip, no frills, friendly and welcoming. You'll notice all the framed rave reviews on the wall inside and the website boasts its 16 year reign as #1 restaurant in Brevard, and the menu definitely lives up. We started with the Bavarian Pretzel (which was actually recommended to us by the server at the chocolate shop across the alleyway.) It was very much the right way to go. The pretzel is adorned with several meats, slices of cheese, picked veggies (the pickled okra is amazing!) and some dipping sauces. You could come just for this, a few drinks and maybe another app and have a wonderful time! However you'd miss the delicious entrees. I got the Brunswick stew which was heavenly. My son loved his cedar plank salmon, said it was one of this favorite salmon preps he's ever had. The ambiance on the patio was pleasant with the hanging plants. The restaurant feels like a hidden gem as you have to travel one of the side alleys to find it. But locals seem to have no problem finding their award winning fave. If you're visiting town, this restaurant is definitely a winner. Plus there are some great shops to stroll nearby before or after.

For dinner I had the southwest blackened chicken Cobb salad which was very good as well. Prices were a little up there, but not too crazy. Service was a little slow (they were pretty busy at the time we went) but the server was well educated on the menu. The restaurant was nicely appointed, comfortable and they have a separate room for their bar.

Bonita took 2- $20s, 1 $10s, and 5 $1s out of her wallet, and made me count it twice on the bar totaling $55. At the end of the night she told me that she provided me with a full hundred dollars. I never received this money. It is on camera the cash she provided. Instead of discussing rationally, she raised her voice and got irritable. So the little tips I made that night I left on the on the bar for her, and I left the building. I have made an attempt to reach out to her through the general manager email to ask her to leave my check at the hostess stand, so I can pick it up and return my apron. I provided her with over 24 hour notice. Upon arrival, she was not in the building nor was my check available to be picked up. It makes me wonder if she's having cash flow issues since our paychecks are supposed to be released on Friday at 3 PM, however she is not releasing the checks to her employees until after service on Saturday. Due to lack of response from her, the following is my last email to her: "Due to lack of communication on your part, I will be forced to recoup my earnings from you legally. I will open an investigation with the Department of Labor, and I will have a police escort me to your premises to ensure that you provide me with the money that you owe me that I earned by law. I wish I didn't have to get to this point Bonita. I don't understand your reluctance. I have been I've been nothing but respectful to you and have helped you when you needed time off work."

It was dark! That's how we missed it. We were seated by a friendly host. He impressed us with a book he had on his podium. We all love readers! We got the corner booth, which was roomy & comfortable. We looked over the double sided menus as we waited for someone to take our orders. Mason was our server in training with a regular who didn't give her name or I didn't hear it. Husband and I had the cheeseburgers with lettuce & mayonnaise. Husband had the huge, crispy waffle fries & I had small cup of coleslaw. One friend had the chicken sandwich with coleslaw (we both avoid fried foods), and her husband had fish'n'chips with coleslaw & fries. Only Husband had a drink - ice tea. Three of us had water. The drinks came quickly, and the hot food was delivered as soon as it was ready. The food was good. We liked the pub atmosphere & decor. Our friends had been here before & recommended it for its food & casual ambiance. In America I'm more likely to discover I have stumbled into a joint more like an Applebee's and poorly ran at that. Sadly, here, too. While the cod filets were properly sized, correctly priced, and seasoned well, the slaw was warm and barely dressed. Our server was nonchalent and more engaged in chowing down on her lunch with a coworker than monitoring our order. All the food was delivered lukewarm including the cold stuff. Meh. I'll give a hard pass on the Reuben Eggrolls, too. What I imagined as a juicy bite into a steamy roll of goodness filled with cornbeef, sauerkraut, and swisscheese was actually three tiny rolls of dry, tasteless, overcooked wads of dough. Nope. 3-stars is commensurate with their average. Some good, some not, nothing great.
