Went here with coworkers on a Wednesday night. I was told this was the original location, and they have a separate dining versus bar area. Parking was a bit tricky next to so many other businesses. All the tables were filled on this night, and I think it was also seniors night. The place definitely felt like a local diner/restaurant. Booths, older furniture, small bathroom. The staff were pretty nice and didn't give us any trouble for sitting all the way to closing and being the last table out. The food was decent, with pretty filling portions. But it wasn't something I'd rave about. It was also a bit pricey for the fajita plate I got, when I've been to other places in the area and have gotten more for less money, and served on a sizzling plate too. However, the refillable chips and salsa, with separate bowls for normal vs. spicy salsa, was nice. You can also pay with your phone by using a QR code on your receipt (which they also let us split 3 ways based on item), but can also pay cash. Overall I can see how it's appealing to local diners who are used to something familiar, but may not appeal to those looking for something a bit more than just familiar.

I got the teak salad with ranch today! Super good. The steak was seasoned well and was tender. The salad and all the ingredients were very fresh. The location was clean and staff were very friendly and helpful.

I thought this place would be better than the Murillos on East Monte Vista. I was wrong! The food lacks flavor, and the fajitas came out like the picture. Not used to that; it usually comes on a hot stone. Anyway, we won't be back. The waitress wasn't very nice, but she was attentive.

Protesters across the street. Not affecting this restaurant.

Food was OK. I took my granddaughters here after school. There was a ICE protest going on across the street. I was trying to explain civil disobedience and protests. Some loud older people came in yelling about THE PROTESTERS SHOULD "GO TO A PLAY GROUND". The employee/ owner said every week i'm i'm asked how I feel owning a mexican restaurant having the protesters out there, I feel like they take up to many of my parking spots. It's a large parking lot. There were plenty of spots. Wow. I think customers should be able to eat in peace without having it effect our dining. It wasn't pleasant.

Shoutout to Jorge, who provided great service and was super nice and helpful. He gave us a ton of recommendations and helped me decide what to order, which I really appreciated. For drinks, I had a Modelo draft and the Pink Cadillac Margarita. The margarita was SO sweet and yummy! My girlfriend ordered the enchiladas, where she got to choose between two different sauces and meats. She went with red sauce carnitas and green sauce chicken. She really enjoyed the carnitas with the red sauce and said she would definitely order it again. Jorge recommended the birria tacos, so I decided to give those a try. They came with 3 tacos topped with cheese, onions, and cilantro, along with consomé. The tacos were definitely on the greasy side, and I personally prefer my birria tacos a little more on the crispy/hard side. The consomé needed a little more salt, and for some reason I was getting a slight Worcestershire sauce taste from it . The tacos themselves were about a 7/10 for me. I did get a nice chunk of meat in one bite with some good flavor, but the meat was a little on the dry side. Overall, good service, solid happy

The food is good and they make you feel welcome. Ambiance is simple and like what you might expect at a well run family owned diner. The restaurant is clean and it is calming to enter. I looked, and every customer appeared to be really enjoying their meal...It had that kind of ambiance. Hospitality is a very welcoming 6 stars. They are attentive and treat you nicer than you expect at a business. The food is served in very generous portions and they make a good, house made, horchata. I recommend ordering some. If grandkids are listening, I say the food is pulled up a bit by you're hospitality. Pico de gallo? A blended maybe cooked tomato chili salsa? Freshly chopped onion and cilantro? The rice is a bit bland, but when combined with the red wet burrito sauce, it is fantastic. I think a drizzle of that sauce should be on the inside of every burrito. I am a foodie, and I am giving you a full five stars overall, but recommend a little more fresh veggie. I only write reviews if establishments are excellent or somehow a disappointment. Tacos Jalisco is excellent and deserves your business.

If you want good Mexican you gotta hit Jalisco". Say less. "Oh, and get their green salsa." Ok, you said a little more but we'll get back to that. I headed out the door and started driving. Soon I realized I didn't actually know where I was going (not unusual for me) and called the host. All sorted out I not only found Tacos Jalisco but got the (green) spot right in front. Valet parking would have been less convenient. Things were looking up. I went full gringo and bought a super burrito. Was it OK? No. Was it good? No. Was it great? Getting there. Was it superb? Warmer. Was it T R A N S C E N D E N T? YESSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Was the sauce good? Ok, let's not do this again. Yes! The sauce was HELLA GOOD! How good? Let's just say they sell it by the bottle FOR A REASON, primo. For a reason. Did I buy a bottle? Uh, do people come from out of state to buy bottles to freeze? Uh, yes. So yeah, you best believe I copped a bottle. Call the burrito Davíd Blaine because that lil hommie disappeared real quick. (I got the al pastor which was perfect btw. ) The ambiance? I don't know. Do you remember the color of the carpet when you were at the California Lottery's finance office to pick up your Powerball winnings (you picked lump sum)? Then you know what I'm talking about. A lot of tops. Place was clean. Menu's were easy to read. The very nice lady working the register was hella cool and even offered up suggestions when I was vacillating. Lots of dudes in the kitchen so my to-go came out real quick. (Lots of cooks to me means they're doing a brisk business. Which means fresher food. Faster service. Etc. You know the ------ vibes! So all I have now is this bottle of green salsa and the knowledge that refills are only $5.00. For life. Yes they make it fresh every damn day. Stop playing. Maybe I'll see you at Tacos Jalisco when I'm filling up my bottle.

I ordered a carnitas bowl with black beans, rice, and all the toppings you'd typically find in a carnitas burrito, while my wife went with a cheese quesadilla. While waiting for our food, I enjoyed a bottle of Pacifico and some chips and salsa. The salsa had a nice balance, not too spicy and not too mild. The carnitas were tender and flavorful, and the bowl was filling without feeling overly heavy, and my wife was happy with her quesadilla as well.
