    Got to have the pierogi's

A sense of 'WOW' as you enter this classic church building that has been standing since the mid-1800's! This is a must dining experience with a decor bringing back fond memories of TGIF's chain's decorative focus (They even have a mini school bus on the wall ). I think may have attended a church function here once upon a time. The wait staff provided a warm friendly greeting but it was hard to not notice the loud group of people standing around in one section of the restaurant intruding into the space where some were dining (A polite suggestion by staff to go up to the bar for conversation or a please return to your table might have been fitting.). I kept looking in their direction because they were loud. Ok, back to the menu. Half Polish and half Italian and locally sourced food. All pluses!! Service was great and the decision get perogies but go "Italian" for the entree. Since everyone loves the perogies why isn't there an entree featuring them on the Polish side of the menu (You can add a side order to one entree but come on put them on the main dinner plate.)? When I have perogies at home it's with the meal not before it. Ok, the noise to my right is continuing ... but a truly fantastic side salad is delivered to the table (Side salad and bread come with the entree.). The greens are mixed and crisp and cool. The dressing is perfectly mixed and really tasty. The 'small" chunk of bread is fresh with a unique flavor and is accompanied by some tasty honey butter and an oil blend. Now to the entree, "Fish Milanese." 'Fish Milanese' is "a dish of thin fish filets coated with flour, egg, and breadcrumbs and then pan fried till crispy." The haddock at Morluski's that was the fish for their "Fish Milanese" didn't taste like haddock and it was clearly not breaded nor really crispy although it did stick to the serving platter. Not quite sure how to describe the taste of the unbreaded fish but it wasn't what I had anticipated. Now, I have to say that the presentation of their "Fish Milanese" was pretty darn awesome. The arugula, goat cheese, and cranberries made for a beautiful looking salad atop the haddock. And, the salad portion of the entree was really enjoyable to eat. Now, the classic "Fish Milanese" is served with sauce and vegetables but this variation had potential if the fish just was prepared differently. As I finished my meal I kept thinking what a really good meal it would have been if I they offered a Polish style protein with their pirogies. I did order the pirogi appetizer (1 of each) and thoroughly enjoyed them. The desserts looked really awesome but we were full. The wait staff were friendly and laughed along with us. This is a place to bring out of town friends because the venue is beautiful! Our waitress suggested perhaps staring with a dessert and then eating your meal because you could take the leftovers home for a good lunch the next day. Get the pirogies! Perhaps stick to the Polish side of the menu but as for my choice of the evening ... I would never get it again.

The place is very unique. The food, mediocre at best. Their antipasto is a joke. The menu said marinated veggies, cheese, asst Italian meats. It was more a bad charcuterie. Marinated veggies were 2 pepperoncini's. Cheese was only cheese curds. If you're a "Polish" place, u should be making house made sausage. But they're not. The Margarita was AWFUL. They only had table salt and I was just nasty lime juice. Too much money for bad drinks and food. And they should keep their political preferences off the wall. We won't be going back.

These were some of the best potato pancakes i've had in my entire life. Pickle soup, pierogi, krupnik. Everything was awesome. No reservations so had to sit at the bar, was happy that the christmas decorations were still up late into the year, really added to the polish tackiness. Great spot would come back.

First timers. The food and service were excellent. We tried both Italian and polish food. Loved everything. The atmosphere is so awesome in this old restored church.

Went on a Friday night, we made a reservation and were seated right away. A few of us ordered from the Polish Menu others ordered from the Italian. The pierogi were the most authentic we've had in the area, Babcia approved. We got the farmers cheese. Most places have pierogi that are too doughy and tough, almost tasting like Mrs. t's ( there's no such thing as bad pierogi but there are better ones). These were soft and thinner an almost silky dough which is what my Polish family looks for, for good authentic pierogi. The stuffed cabbage rolls were delicious and they served salad and bread with all meals. These portion sizes weren't over the top which was a nice change, however you won't be leaving hungry. The dill pickle soup was a favorite of the night. Great atmosphere and staff. Will be back, check it out yourself!

This is probably the neatest venue in western New York. Beautifully decorated old church. The food I wasn't crazy about. I ordered the wedding soup which wasn't very good. The salad is served family style and was very good. The bread ,which is served with the dinner, is nothing special. We both ordered the Polish Platter. The smoked sausage was very good. The potato pancake was strange and real thin. The Sauerkraut wasn't served Luke warm and also not very good. One side of the menu was Italian food and the other Polish food. I agree with another Yelper that a young busboy kept circling the restaurant about every 5 minutes and was a little strange. We never saw him pick up any dishes. Service was slow as the waitresses were doing a lot of standing and talking at the bar. I'd give the surroundings 5++++++++ and the food a 2.

This place landed on my radar thanks to random yelp searches, and while we hadn't planned to stop here, we ended up here and it was a really lovely time. For more than half the meal, we were the only ones in the loft area, which is super quaint and quite romantic. The setting is so fun and unique. The waitress we had said she just started a couple weeks prior, but she was lovely and attentive. You could tell she enjoyed the atmosphere there, and it was contagious. It was my first time eating pierogis and as far as I could tell, they were good, but a bit dense. I'm not sure how they are supposed to be, though. The taste fell a bit flat, but I still enjoyed them. I got the gnocchi with red sauce, and they were pillowy. It felt like they vanished in my mouth, also known as I devoured them. I'd love to come back and try more, especially some dessert. Definitely a spot worth checking out!

What a fun and cheery place! I would go back simply to sit in this beautiful building. One side of their menu is Italian food and the other side is Polish food. The salad and bread they bring family style for the table was so delicious. Pickled red onions and a delicious dressing made that salad a great start. The pierogis come three in an appetizer and they are huge. The Italian pizza app was a hit with the kids as they love a balsamic glaze and they split the Alfredo too. The stuffed cabbage came with mashed potatoes and a red sauce. I actually think there could have been a little more sauce and salt to the dish but overall it was good- cabbage was tender and filling had some depth. I liked that they have a variety of table sizes to fit small and large groups and truly the ambience was spectacular. I'd def go back to try their pickle soup, a special drink from their menu, and everything else they have to offer! Service was really great. Parking lot in back seemed to be a good size- we did almost drive by it because the sign wasn't front and center- just look for the cozy church building and you'll find it!

My wife and I had dinner here for the first time a couple weeks ago to celebrate our third anniversary and we absolutely loved it! The food was delicious and our service was great. We really loved the piano player, who was playing anything from Elton John to Pearl Jam and Led Zeppelin. We loved the rustic feel of the restaurant as well and we will definitely come back again!

7/29/23 - I was in town for a reunion and invited a friend to dinner. I didn't have a car so she picked me up. I had made a reservation for 5:30p knowing that it stays busy. It had been a rainy day and the the first awkward moment was when the front door did not open, although we both tried and saw a few people coming out the exit. We decided with the lights on and number of cars that they must be open. We went in through the exit. That brings you inside at the short side of the bar. Next awkward moments were we waited and were not acknowledged by the bartender and finally ask how we get seated. She didn't seem to happy about it and told us to see the hostess. That was up front but since that door didn't open and we couldn't see it from where we were, we asked and were told (with an attitude) it was up front. We were taken to our table and Chelsea introduced herself, gave us menus and a menu of specialty cocktails. We each ordered something different, and we did enjoy them. After looking at the menu we decided to split a couple of appetizers first. The pierogi come in 3s but we were told they can't be ordered with different fillings. We decided on the potato & cheddar. The potato pancakes were larger than we expected and did come with both sour cream and applesauce. We decided to split the chicken Parm entree. It was huge, moist and came with pasta and sauce, salad and fresh baked bread. We also ordered the Polish chocolate cake with whipped cream and raspberries. It was delish. We'd expected to have coffee but were kindly told that the 7p reservation was waiting for the table. Overall I'd rate it 5 for the food and ambiance. However given our difficulty getting in and seated, as well as unexpectedly being hurried out after a delayed beginning it was 3rd awkward instance in the same evening. If I had known about the 2hrs limit I'd have understood. On hospitality, despite the good server for our table, I'd give it 3 and that's a bit of a stretch, so overall 4 stars. It may have been an off night, but that was my guest's first time and did leave a negative impression with both of us. Very different from my last visit 2 years ago.

I decided to go someplace new for my birthday this year. I found Morluskis in the summer but never made it there so why not go for my birthday? It was amazing! I will recommend this restaurant to everyone! The food was amazing the ambiance was cozy, our waitress was great. This is not a 20 minute dinner place. We were there for 2.5 hours for a party of 8. But it was so worth it! The food was so good! I'm currently eating my left over raviolis as I write this!

While visiting Buffalo, once during my stay I have to get a Polish meal. Before we left, I found Morluski's on Yelp. It came down to the wire, our last night in town. Car problems and another issue pushed back our visit and when we arrived we were initially shunned. No room at the church for us (the building is an old church). Then we were told we could sit at the bar, quick glance...nobody at the bar, sure why not. Once at the bar, glanced around the restaurant. Very cool vibe going on here. A little Polish, a little Italian, a little Buffalo. Everyone was having a good time. There was a band playing in the upstairs (old church organ area?). Some more people showed up to the bar, they kept commenting on how nice the place was...people were digging it. Back to us. We got our drinks and ordered some food. Three Pole Plates and some oddball that ordered gnocchi. I got the fresh kielbasa, while two others got the smoked kielbasa. I'll comment on my plate....outstanding. The kielbasa was superb. The potato pancake was outstanding. The kraut was delicious. I also got some pierogi added to the plate, they were lost in the mix. Good, but they might have been better on their own. The others had similar thoughts. The gnocchi individual liked her meal (but earlier in our visit we went to Mulberry and got gnocchi ... tough to follow them up). We also got a very good simple salad (family style for the four of us) and bread to go with our meal. The bartenders did a great job keeping up on drink orders. It was fun watching them keep up with all the orders. Oh yeah, they had a few Polish beers available. When we return, this will be a must return visit. Keep up the great work!!

Cool outdoor patio but if it's a hot day, the indoor space just doesn't provide comfort. I want to be on board with everyone else about this place, but I didn't like a single beer in the flight that I ordered & some aspects made me uncomfortable. It is definitely a local pub, with the 10 people that were already there. Everybody was watching when we came in, which, if you've ever experienced this you know it's uncomfortable and makes you feel like an outsider. The owner was nice, but he definitely was buzzed when he was trying to have conversations with us. This is just not a place. I would feel comfortable coming back to. The bartender was amazing though.
