I've been to the coaches before but to different locations, but this one was really nice. Our waitress was very kind and attentive, even though it seemed like she was the only one that was handling our table in a couple of others the food was delicious especially coming from somebody who has stomach issues, I went home and didn't have any problems! The atmosphere is also amazing, after we finished eating our food, we went upstairs to sit around the fire pit with our friends!

Oct 4, 4:15 - Not impressed. We hadn't been for a while but were in the area at Husker Football time so we had to stop. At first I thought the bartender was just being efficient but soon realized she just didn't want to be there, or something. She came to take our initial order but we had to call her back every other time. Food was okay (not great), we had nachos and chicken fingers. We didn't get the sauces we asked for and of course had to flag her down again. She never asked about anything or offered any condiments, etc. Glad to see the Huskers on most TVs and there were a couple good ol' guys at the bar so that was good-they also had to ask for service each time. Bar was empty and we sat with empty beers for a while so we just left, we'll find somewhere else to watch the game. Side note: silverware came with 2 spoons and a knife but we didn't feel like begging for service again.

Maybe the best rooftop patio in OP!

Highlight: *Outstanding* rooftop patio! When weather allows, Coach's is one of the preeminent sunset viewing spots in central JoCo. But on any given day, it's also a great place to gather and enjoy. The lower levels inside are expansive and comfortable, with a big bar seating option, and the top level just knocks it out of the park. Given the proximity to the Blue Valley sports complex, there's a fair chance you'll see families with hungry little sluggers dining and spending that precious time together. Who doesn't love a chance to share chicken strips and laughs with those closest? The fare is good but not great, and if there were half-stars to give, then this would be the only knock. Standard bar & grille options are all over the menu with some unique twists, such as The Royals, an appetizer of loaded baked potato bites rolled into balls, breaded with panko, and fried. The salad options (from 'The Rough' section) are varied and the portions are enormous. Check the specials, too, because Coach's generally has something good going on and the friendly service staff is more than eager to share that menu. Pricing is pretty equivalent to the surrounding area and parking shares space somewhat with the strip center neighbors. But if you're waiting out a rain delay or just want to meet friends and family for a drink & more, then Coach's is a great choice in the Leawood/OP area.

Very mediocre for me. I ordered take out and she was very nice - service was up to par! Sports bar vibe with football on the TVs around the bar area. I ordered the chiefs wings (didn't get much flavor) and a side of sweet potato fries ($7 for a side...) and it was a huge side so I just accepted the high price but they were SO overly salted I couldn't even enjoy them. I threw about 90% out due to them being basically inedible.

I'll start by saying they were able to accommodate our group of nine on a Saturday night very well. The staff was cordial, got us in quickly, and the food came out very fast. All of the orders were accurate so I will give them props for all that. Unfortunately, the food was not as enticing. We got the mozzarella sticks and fried zucchini as an appetizer. Most of the group ordered burgers for dinner. I tried many of them and they were over cooked and under seasoned Those who got sandwiches were equally unimpressed. None of the food was terrible, but don't think any of it was worth ordering again.

Came here after a morning filled with adulting, it was a beautiful afternoon so we sat outside. We both felt like having burgers so this was a good spot. The burgers are huge that I can never finish it in one sitting, my husband liked his chicken burger too. The fries and chips were perfect too. It was super busy when we went but we got a seat right away and the service was great.

Service is friendly and prompt. As soon as I came through the door, staff was to the right and readily attentive. Environment is classic American sports bar, TVs are seemingly at every angle, prices upon menu are seemingly quite reasonable, the only difference is this place is well kept. Staff is diverse, which truly is wonderful, and the lady who is my server does not need prompting to make sure glasses stay full. I ordered the royal balls and lettuce wraps. The Royal balls came out fresh, hot and tasty. The lettuce wraps came out looking fresh, healthy and savory.

The coaches set-up is really nice! Especially their rooftop patio. They have a few fire pits as well, but unless it's a particularly chilly evening, it might be too much heat! We had them turn it back off after 15 minutes. Phew! I will rave up and down about the drink I got!! I loved the SALTED PRETZEL WHITE RUSSIAN!! With screwball peanut butter whiskey, kahlua and cream, I felt like I was drinking a bit-too-sweet candy bar. Sooo good! The food was all between a C- (bland nachos) and a B+ (Buffalo chicken dip, a big greasy but good). None of it was worth writing home about. But the service was good! Thank you Coaches! I'll definitely have to come back for that drink again!

Two words: highway robbery. I came here during the weeknight to see a film in their "dine-in"…read moretheater, thinking it was similar to other AMC Theater Dine-ins, where you can order your food in the actual theater... nope. You are to order that at the concessions stand in the lobby, and that's not clear-cut to do unless you ask around. The food itself is basic, which is fine, but chicken nachos shouldn't cost $14 with a $1 delivery fee. On top of that, they didn't even get my order correct (came with jalapenos when I requested to not have such). Need more insult to injury? Only one person working behind the concessions stand in a line of 6+ groups with no help in sight. Final insult: no booze is offered - no VINO, beer, cocktails... nothing. For $12 a ticket, I plead with you to consider other theaters in the metro before you come here.

I will start with the reasons why this review is missing the 5th star…read more.. Our initial impression of Vinotopia was utter confusion. We were greeted by the hostess with, "hello," followed by an awkward silence and a blank stare. Uhh...hi? After a few more seconds of silence, my husband finally asked, "So, do we just sit anywhere?" To which the hostess responded, "Sure. You can sit anywhere in the bar or patio." I was sure I had seen a more formal dining setting in my research before we came, so before we sat down I blurted out, "Can't we get a table for two?" Again she responded, "Sure," grabbed two menus, and started walking. This issue could easily be corrected with a little training, or retraining, on how to greet guests. When we got to the dining room, she said we could sit at any two top. The only problem was two walls of the dining room are entirely made up of windows, one that is facing due west, and at about 5:30PM this means the light and heat of a thousand suns. All of the two tops were along the windows. We chose the one with the least direct eye burning light, but we still had to dine with our sunglasses on. Another couple was seated at a two top behind us and wound up being so uncomfortable with the heat and brightness that they changed their minds and left moments later. Sure the view of Overland Park is beautiful, but something has got to give, because no one wants to go on a nice romantic date and have to wear shades. Alright, the positives. The service was great. Both our server, and the other server in the dining room, worked very well together to make our experience enjoyable. The live piano music created romantic ambience. The food was delicious, albeit a little monochromatic--the plates were severely lacking green (or any contrast from brown and orange tones. see photos if you don't believe me.) We started with the bleu cheese stuffed figs. To my surprise (& perhaps dismay), these were made with dried instead of fresh figs. The flavor was good, however the texture wasn't as pleasant as it would've been with fresh figs. I had the braised pork shank that was fall-off-the-bone tender, served with a potato mash, roasted carrots, a peach compote, topped with roasted tomatoes and a jus of sorts. Well seasoned, great flavors. He had the center cut of beef, served with white asparagus, and a potato mash, and a beef jus. Again, flavors were there, but maybe green asparagus would've made the dish appear less anemic. We were also given a small dish of very bland housemade ricotta with a few small slices of bread. We could've done without. Overall, we would dine hear again, but I think we will wait until a slightly cooler evening so that we can sit on the patio. (It is less strange to dine in sunglasses if you're outside.) It was pleasant and romantic, despite the hiccups.

For our drinks we orders 'Have a Cigar' and a low sugar mocktail they created for me. Both were made very well and were super refreshing. For our mains, we ordered, 'Black Cardamon Burnt ends', 'Tandoori Chicken' and 'Smash burger with peri peri fries' and for desert we ordered the parle g mango ice-cream' sandwich with some aromatic chai. My most favorite dish out of all were the burnt ends - they had a superb fusion flavor of Indian spices which went well with the meat and paired well with the grits. Trust me when i say this that i would eat this everyday for the rest of my life if i could. The smash burger and peri peri fries were excellent and definitely hit the spot. The real disappointed was with Tandoori chicken. I felt the chicken did not pair well with the sambar risotto and the fried okra even though it tasted good, was an after thought. The rice in the risotto was very grainy and undercooked. I told that to our server and they instantly apologized and acknowledged the issue and also proceeded to remove the dish from our bill. After that the chai was very warm and comforting and the parle g ice-cream biscuits were nostalgic and a great way to finish the meal. While not every dish was perfect, i love the excellent customer service they provided and the way the owner/manager/staff handled our feedback. I will be back to try more food here - 5/5.

My wife and I had our anniversary dinner here a few weeks ago, and had a great experience!…read more We made a reservation for a Friday evening during primetime. We were seated on time at a table next to the bar-side of the dining room. Speaking of the dining room, it's a nice, if standard size for a strip-mall space, but I really appreciated that the tables were not stacked on top of each other, as seems to be the case at more and more places these days. It felt like there might be some chance of our entire conversation not being completely overheard by our neighbors, which was nice for a change! Our waitress was fantastic! She walked us through the menu, the restaurant's approach to cooking and seasonality, some of her faves, and made wonderful recommendations! We decided to split a few small plates, which was a great approach! We got to try about 1/3 of the small plate menu, and loved it all! It was all great, but the Black Cardamom Burnt Ends are NOT to be missed! It made my cardamom-loving, Midwest soul very, very happy indeed! The space is a really nice size - not massive or overwhelming - and with the shades drawn down (to seal out the late afternoon sun, thank goodness!) and dim lighting, the mood vibes were solid for a romantic anniversary dinner! The other ambiance item of note is that the restroom corridor smelled absolutely fantastic! Upon investigation, it was due to a burning candle from a lovely local-KC company that was custom made for the restaurant! Yes, they're for sale, and yes, we picked up two! While everything was lovely and the food was very good, you're definitely paying a high price for it. Not that it's not deserved, but the "value" feels aren't necessarily "off the charts", by any means. And that is really my only critique, if there is any at all! Food = 5/5 Facility = 4/5 Service = 5/5 Ambiance = 4/5 Value = 3/5

We attended a baby shower here this weekend, hosted by a woman who is 36 weeks pregnant, for a guest of honor who is also in her third trimester. Despite the indoor dining area being completely empty--we were literally the only customers in the establishment until 2:00 PM--management stubbornly refused to let our group sit inside. Their excuse? Our "party size was too big." Instead of showing an ounce of flexibility or basic human decency, they forced a heavily pregnant host and her guests to sit outside during an active Heat Warning. It was 93°F outside with a heat index making it feel like 105°F. This isn't just a matter of poor customer service; it's a severe health and safety hazard. Forcing women who are weeks away from their due dates to endure triple-digit heat index conditions while indoor, air-conditioned tables sit completely vacant is downright negligent. It showed a shocking lack of empathy. When we finally went inside just to take a few photos before leaving, it was confirmed that the space was completely unused. To value arbitrary, nonsensical "rules" over the medical safety and comfort of your patrons is a miserable way to run a business. We will never be back, and I strongly advise anyone planning an event to look elsewhere--unless you want a venue that treats its customers with absolute disregard.

The Moderno salad -- with cherries, cured beef, pine nuts, and goat cheese -- was flavorful, though the espresso vinaigrette unfortunately tasted more like straight vinegar than espresso. The Toscana chicken breast (bone-in) with sun-dried tomato sauce had that perfect "marry me" flavor -- rich and satisfying. For dessert, we had the Plate chocolate cake with raspberry and pistachios. It was a huge slice, with a rich chocolate flavor. So why not five stars? Despite having reservations, we were seated right by the kitchen where servers pick up food. Made more annoying because the restaurant had a lot of empty booths and tables in the main dining room. The upside was that the pizza ovens kept us warm, but it wasn't the most relaxing spot. There were also a couple billing issues: the tip was calculated on the post-tax total rather than pre-tax. Also our prix fixe dinners included dessert and we opted to upgrade to a different dessert from the menu. Oddly the up-charge was $6, even though the menu price difference was only $3. That said, Plate offers delicious, well-priced food (though the drinks are on the expensive side), and it's still a great choice for Italian food in Kansas City
