Stopped here for lunch after picking up my daughter from the airport. Good vibe to the place. Large bar area. We sat on the patio because it was such a nice day. I ordered the Jake Burger and fries. I believe my daughter ordered the Murphy's Burger with sweet potato fries. The patties were fresh, hand formed, and had great flavor. Margaritas were good. Good memory to have. read more

This place wasn't bad, but it wasn't all that good. First thing, all of the restaurants in Rapid City seem to close around 2:00/3:00pm. Luckily this place was open, but if you wanted to call and check, no one will answer the phone. I called several times with no answer, we decided to go by because our options were limited. They were open, but during our meal the phone rang many times and no one picked it up. The meal. Our waitress was alright, besides the body issue comments, she spent most of her time flirting with dull looking business men. I ordered Murphy's Angus Burger medium rare that had apples & Brie cheese. The burger was well done (no pink at all) and I could not find a single apple slice. The Brie cheese was sparse as well. To be fair I ate it since I was hangry, it was tasty, but not worth $15. They had an excellent beer selection, but google them as the bartender was not knowledgeable. Overall, if you're stopping in Rapid city you could stop here, or not. read more

Staff was great and they handled being busy well! My husband liked his sandwich, it was a melt or something. I had the Buffalo meatloaf which was good but a little dry. Maybe the bourbon ketchup on the top instead of the bottom would be better. All in all a nice place and I'd go again. read more

Looks like a nice place but, one of the worst Caesar salads I've ever had. Lettuce was wilted dressing tasted like thousand island. Shame on me for not rejecting it. Service was great. They were pretty busy and only had 1 bartender and 1 waitress but they both seemed to stay caught up. The food was mediocre at best. I ordered the mushroom and Swiss burger. It looks hand pattied which I was excited about thinking it was fresh. (Fresh never frozen) I took a couple bites of it and the meat had a terrible texture. Like it was mushy and no flavor. No grilled flavor, not even a burger taste, just blah. I even ordered a medium well knowing it would be fully cooked (and being pregnant). My husband who will eat just about anything took 1 bite and was disgusted. He ordered the Reuben and said it was good, but nothing he'd order again. We have eaten here a few times and can't brag about our experiences. The food every time has been well below average. We keep trying hoping it will get better. But won't be going back. read more

Only come here for drinking beer in my opinion, not for anyone expecting a lovingly prepared meal.

Unfortunately the best part of Murphy's was the ambiance of the place. I had a meatloaf that was a little dry while my girlfriend had an extremely dry salmon. The inside has a great feel to it and the place has a good selection of beers. I would definitely go again to see if it was just an off night. Also, the dirty chips were pretty tasty. read more

This place I went off of yelp reviews and so I tried it. This would be my last dine in, in SD so I wanted something really good. Well peeps, I did walk myself into a great place. I went and sat at the bar. The place is big inside and they have a nice big patio outside with an open fireplace and also a bar outside too. I was immediately greeted by a bartender. After a few minutes she took my drink order. Then she came back with my drink and took my order for dinner. I decided to order a small side of their rosemary mashed potatoes, side salad, and their appetizer order of wings. The bartender helped suggested a couple sauces I should try on the wings. My food came out hot and fresh the way I like it. I got the mashed potatoes first and that was absolutely delicious. Then I got the side salad second, which was massive but delicious and light. Lastly, my wings came out and I got super excited. The sauces that came with it on the side was the buffalo, strawberry habenero, and watermelon jalapeño. I know right!!! I'm sure no one's heard of the last two sauces. Boy! I have two say that both of the sauces were spectacular on the most amazing wings I have ever had in my life. Hands down best two sauces and wings for sure!!!! I can buy stocks of the two sauces if they sold it. Their wings are a must peeps! Never tasted chicken that falls off the bones and still very crispy when slathered in the fabulous sauces!!!! I can still taste it in my mouth as I write about it. I'm telling you these wings are excellent. Please please try the wings and the two unheard sauces if you really like spicy. Absolutely delicious!!! Overall my whole entire meal and experience here was by far the best in SD! Thank you for great recommendations and service. Cute South Dakota-ey place to grab a drink by the fireplace. Have never eaten here, only had a few drinks and enjoyed the experience. Cute place but service was pretty bad and one meal was very good and other was way overdone. Hostess was nice but very slow to seat us and never sent waiter over to us. After about 10 min we asked for waiter to take our drink order. I had fish sliders which were excellent. Wife had bison meatloaf that was very overdone and a bit charred. Consequently very dry. We went here after arriving on a Friday night flight at 930pm. When we walked in, we immediately noticed no social distancing and 99% of the patrons not wearing masks, all of the employees were. To me, that did not matter, I am not a fan of wearing masks so it did not bother me, I merely wrote that for anyone who reads this who cares about that sort of thing. What is their fault is our phone in order never got to the kitchen. When we showed up to pick it up they had zero clue of our order. Okay fine, so we place it then .... I had the shepherds pie and it was fantastic the lamb was so tender you wouldn't have to cut it other than the fact you had to because there was so much and big you have to cut them . And the vegetables were so good the guy setting next to me ordered the chicken strips and there had to be a full pound of chicken 4 enormous strips I would call the separate Brest! We spent the night in Rapid City on our way to Mount Rushmore. By the time we got here, we were famished and settled in to a comfy booth with a menu as long as your leg. Adam wins the trophy for "Best All Around Nice I Mean Really Nice" server. I don't think he has a mean or annoyed bone in his body and he provided great recommendations for dinner. The food is delicious and beautifully presented. A fantastic Duck Confit salad stole my heart! The decor is Mod Pub. Modern with a twist of Beer Pub. We were traveling to see Mount Rushmore leisurely and found this place surprisingly pleasant while strolling through downtown for dinner. Murphy's looks like a expensive restaurant judging from its decor, but the price was very affordable. Enjoyed the outdoor seating at warm night. The food was great, the special dish scallop was well cooked with season, the drinks were delicious. Although I thought my shepherds pie was a little too gamey. We had the raspberry cocktail and some beers. Coming from NYC, customer service here was amazing! Highly recommend this place if you are in the area. read more
