    Ribs with baked potato.

Salad- tasty homemade dressings. Nice starter. Walleye- so delicious, well prepared, fresh tasting and flaky. It came with homemade tartar and cocktail sauces. They were both really good and complimented the fish well. Mashed potatoes- yummy, slightly lumpy potatoes with butter. Ribs- good and fell off the bone. Nicely sauced. IPA- refreshing and not too hoppy, by Lost Cabin. So Dank, like the name says. Service was excellent. Our server, Manda was attentive and offered good suggestions about the menu. My dining partner and I are from Arizona and California respectively. Manda was patient and helpful telling us about the area. Ambience is a large restaurant with a very well-stocked bar. Good vibes.

Very nice little gem on your way to Mt Rushmore. you go about a mile off the free way and find this classic. It is a modern building with an old school flair. They even have bands some nights. The fireplace is a great touch. I had the hot turkey sandwich with real massed potato's. They were semi-mashed, which gave it more texture and taste. Really a great place that does not gouge your wallet.

The service was quite speedy, and the food was pretty amazing. The pizza roll appetizer is a must have if you visit. Cozy cabin vibes inside and nice shaded patio outside! All the of the staff are incredibly nice and it is an overall great experience to eat at The Gaslight!!

The food was sub par. I asked the waitress about the special and she had no clue. When she returned to deliver our drinks she still did not know. She did say all of their food was good. I order the special...Brisket Sandwich. Horrible. It literally was so dried out and over cooked it was beef Jerky with barbecue sauce squeezed on it. She argued with me about taking it off the bill. She reluctantly did so. I was not able to eat it.

The Gaslight has a large red lit-up sign that you can't miss! Plenty of parking in the front and is dog friendly when you sit outside. I started with a Bloody Mary which they are apparently famous for, but I thought it was just OK - more tomato juice than the seasonings/spices that it was raved for. We were told if you go to South Dakota, you must try the Chislic and the Indian Taco so that's what we ordered! The Chislic is breaded steak bites and they were actually pretty good. The breading was thick but the steak was juicy, maybe a little bit too chewy. We chose the sweet potato fries which tasted good, thin crispy outside and soft inside. It was also served with a little garlic bread which was a nice touch! The Indian Taco is a fry bread covered with all the taco fixings like refried beans, tomatoes, lettuce, olives, and ground beef. And TBH, I was not impressed. The toppings tasted like cafeteria style. The fry bread was a little soggy too. I wouldn't go out of my way to come back here but it had both items on the 'Must Try in SD' list so beats going to 2 different places.

When you first walk into the restaurant the interior is a Rustic, old feeling. The food was really good and the drinks were amazing! The service is fast and well done. I had the appetizer Chicken Gizzards which were really good, but chewy. I had the French Dip sandwich and it had a Smokey flavor to it. With the sauce on the side. They offer you salad or soup for your side. It was really good and I would come back!

I had a good experience at Gaslight. Cold beer in a frosted mug after a hike and the bison burger was good (maybe a bit small). Typical South Dakota ambiance with an elk head above the fireplace. Service was good and I enjoyed the meal. I recommend this saloon.

I've been going to the Gaslight for years (decades in fact-whenever I visit the Black Hills and stay at Hillside Country Cabins), but this latest visit was a standout!!! The food was excellent as always, and the service was PHENOMENAL!!! Had a wonderful time and set the pace for the entire evening... Hats off to everyone!!! A+++++

Great little place for a date. Looks like they have live music often. Menu isnt too big but we still found something we like. My husband and I both got the walleye fish and chips. The fish was great!! Highly recommend the walleye!! My husband lovedddd the drinks here and they have a happy hour so check that out. The service was great no complaints at all. There are restrooms and they accept debit/credit. Western decor hung up everywhere.

    Amazing pepperoni rolls!

I recommend the chislic. Delicious. We sat outside with a view of the hills. Our server was friendly and the food came out quickly.

Decent food. Slightly below Average service. Kinda neat decor. I was there several years ago and it was so much better.

With the sun going down, it was a almost picturesque. This eatery is attached to a shop selling souvenirs, snacks and drinks. Appears to share the same parking lot so that wasn't an issue. Free to boot and no restrictions that I could see. But I didn't look. After shopping and eating, it was back on the road to go look for some wildlife. Service was ok. I say ok as there was a mistake with an order which was offered to another table. The dish wasn't touched but I guess standards are different because in restaurants I've eaten in and work at (in another life), a mistake would be discarded. Who knows what could have been done to the dish - not that I did anything. Just left a sour taste because after the dish was offered to another table, server seemed to go MIA. Almost felt like it was avoidance after the error. So, condiments, refills and service in general took long enough that at one point my friend and I had to go in to ask for things. As for the food - it was ok. It's definitely prepared differently than what I'm used to. So, I have to admit, feeling the food was ok could have been due to this and possibly because the service had went downhill after the error. Would I go back? For the view
