We sat just outside to the left on the patio and the young lady that waited on us took very good care of us and we really enjoyed the beautiful spring/summer setting. Their beer and cocktails are crisp and carefully crafted. The food, however, was not spectacular. We ordered the breadsticks with nacho cheese (overcooked), traditional wings (teriyaki & hot honey garlic - saucy, decent), 1 beef taco (meh), & a single smash burger with an upgraded side of tater tots. Everything was all about the same - nothing special, respectfully. The smash burger was not a traditional smash burger. It also looked and tasted exactly like a burger from Burger King. All 3 times I have been to Danny Boy, it seems the place is being run by 1-3 workers, which makes for very slow ordering and wait times. This day, 2 tables left before ordering drinks due to the long wait. Overall, Danny Boy is a great place to stop for an evening drink to catch up with friends. Danny Boy is cool inside as it use to be a fire station before becoming a restaurant. Free street parking is available and their are 2 ramps on the side of the building for those who need. Use your GPS to help maneuver your way through this exceptional community with gorgeous homes and immaculate yards. Danny Boy's atmoshere is fun and feels like a cozy neighborhood bar. It's a terrific place to watch sporting events with 14 flat screens viewable from every seat. Seating consists of high top tables, several regular height 4-tops and numerous bar seating. We were also excited to find out the patio is dog friendly. You'll find a full bar with a nice selection of craft beers. I can recommend the Fist of Fury which is a Hazey Blood Orange IPA with an alcohol content of 6.4%. Other recommendations include Johhny Ringo, a Lager with Ghost Pepper, alcohol content 4.2%. They also offer guest beers, beer cocktails, and rotating ciders and sours. I found a nice selection of cocktails, mules plus white and red wines. There are several descriptive shot names on the menu such as Lemon Drop, Gummi Bear, Mexican Candy and Pineapple Upside Down Cake. I ordered an exceptional Espresso Martini garnished with 3 coffee beans. Our server shared the 3 beans symbolizes health, wealth and happiness. Danny Boy has Happy Hour from 3-5pm, Mon - Friday with several specials. The menu has a fantastic selection from drinking snacks, chips and dips, and many shareable appetizers. Several options of delicious sandwiches are on the menu, some with fun boxer names. The selection of flatbreads is impressive with BBQ Chicken, Chicken Club, Margarita and many more. Soup and Salads are available and next trip I have to try their famous hot wings. The service and food has always been excellent with very knowledgeable and attentive staff. I miss having a fun neighborhood resturant with good food like Danny Boy. Danny Boy is just a 35 minute trip from Speedway without a lot of I-69 traffic which isn't bad. 4:30 till 6:00ish, of course, is rush hour traffic and just be patient with the continuing construction. read more

Danny Boy's is located in a nice area with lots of shaded outdoor seating. Service was good and really enjoyed our server Morgan. Beer was good- had the stout- food was just ok and nothing special. The tenderloin sandwich was average with the breading lacking anything that would make it memorable. If I come again, I won't order that again. While I typically don't like thick cut fries, the thick, Curley fries were actually pretty tasty. Nice seasoning and good crispy texture. The stout was memorable and would be worth another trip. Amazes me with that a business would hang a Trump flag in their place of business knowing that they will alienate 50% of their business. But it is their business, so to each their own. read more

This is the place to be during nice weather. Danny Boy has an amazing patio, with roll-up walls that they leave open, so the restaurant becomes one of those indoor-outdoor joints. Lots of fresh air and natural light no matter if you're sitting indoors or out. We chose to sit on the patio, which is shaded with umbrellas at the tables and also big shade canopies running along from the roof. Because the walls were open, we could see three different spotting games that were playing on the TVs inside. There are some patio games for kids off to one side of the outdoor patio. The food is your typical bar food: burgers and nachos and fries and a few salads. They do have several flatbreads on their menu, which we tried (we got the Margherita flatbread). We also got the George Foreman, which is a typical cheeseburger with fries. The fries were really good -- I guess they were the type of fries that you would call "sidewinder fries," because they were thick and spirally. They have discounted specials every day, and the day we visited, the special was nachos. So that's what I got! Nachos come with your choice of chicken or beef, with a side of salsa. The nachos are huge and I didn't even finish half, even though I had some help. Definitely a deal if you get the nachos when they're discounted. To drink, I got the Mac Daddy Scotch Ale. I don't usually like dark beers, but this one was pleasantly smooth and slightly sweet, and went down a treat. The service was excellent -- we were seated right away, our food came out quickly and accurately, and our server was pleasant but didn't linger. Everything you want in restaurant service! I love this place! We came with a group of 8 for dinner and trivia night. They host trivia night most Tuesdays. First, let me say that the service was outstanding. Our server was friendly and attentive. Other servers also checked on us periodically. We sat out on the patio and the hostess arranged for us to move inside when it started to rain. The staff is awesome. The patio is lovely along the tree lined quiet street. Locals walk over with their dogs and sit on the patio. We tried a number of different meals, I had Not Guuna Taco About It (taco) Salad with beef. Portions were large and the salad was filling. I also had a glass of the Danny Boy Dead Rabbit Chardonnay and it was good. My husband had the Wladimir Klitschko tenderloin sandwich and enjoyed it. The guys seem to enjoy their in-house brewed beers. Trivia night attracts a lot of families. The games start at 7:00 and ended around 9:00. We had so much fun that can't wait to return. Tuesday night also are special growler fills for only $7, so take your growler. There was plenty of street parking. The brewery is located inside of the Village of West Clay community. TL;DR: Just average wings, 3 bone in wings = 3 drums + 3 flats, preferred the saucy wings to the dry rub, indifferent about going again. Food: Only had the bone-in wings, which were sadly just average. Mango habanero sauce was pretty good, has a nice kick to it but really didn't care for the dry rub at all. The wings themselves weren't anything special. They weren't dry but weren't juice either. One thing to note is that for bone-in wings the quantity listed was three, but a wing includes both a drum and flat, so more comparable to six wings at many other places. Cost: Wing price is on par with the more expensive wings once you realize 3 wings = 3 drums+3 flats. That said, I think they're a bit overpriced for what you get. Service: They were definitely understaffed on our visit so everything took a long time. Overall: I wouldn't go out of my way to go here again but wouldn't avoid it if someone suggested it. I loved the old taco pizza at Pizza Hut in the 90s. They have a flat bread with a similar bean base. It is a flatbread so less bread. It is missing the chips but similar. Best meal in Carmel I have had in over 20 years of living in the area. I am surprised as hell. read more

Nestled in the middle of the Village at West Clay. It's a great place to enjoy a drink and a meal outside. Kids are welcome. I saw some dogs outside too. Parking is easy. The burgers are good. My husband and I enjoy discovering new breweries and we were so excited to try a new place! We visited Danny Boy Beer Works at just after noon on a Saturday for lunch and to sample some beers. Unfortunately, we didn't get the chance as the entire 5 minutes we lasted was miserable. Two bartenders were standing around talking to one guy at the bar, i.e. not working. The server that had to help us at the bar was condescending, passive aggressive, and mean. It was such a bad experience that we had to leave before we could even sample the first beer. My husband and I visited Danny Boy Beer Works on a late October Tuesday afternoon. The weather was mild and I love their location and space. The garage doors were open given the temperature outside so the inside flowed out to their outdoor patio. We ordered a flight and chose the Ginger Witte Urban Wheat, Ubermench Heffe, Octoberfest and Cocoa Brown. We liked them all and would recommend them. Ate here recently and found the food to be among some of the best BBQ meat and sides I've ever had. Pulled pork was smoky, juicy, and flavorful, and the side BBQ sauces were all fantastic. Texas toast and mac and cheese were damn tasty, too. The spinach and ricotta torte (shout out to the now defunct Patrick's Kitchen and Drinks in Zionsville!) was delicious. Finding BBQ that's not bone dry has proven challenging in Boston, so I was so pleased at my meal at Danny Boy's. ...so why only 3 stars? Front of house staff are 100 percent phoning it in. On a slow weekday night, our party of 4 waited over 15 minutes before anyone approached us. Memorable moments included my friend asking if they served Pepsi products. The server said, "Yep" and then walked away... Server was much more interested in chatting with fellow servers, it appeared. Regarding the food, I ordered a side of pickles and onions, but it ended up on my friend's plate (who did not order it). Another friend's mac and cheese was forgotten, too, and took considerable time to get served. Finally, we ordered the app for the table and would have preferred if the server asked how we want to pay for it. Instead it ended up on my bill. Several people asked if we were doing okay, what beers we tried, and if we were enjoying them -- really cool and friendly staff! The beers themselves were great as well. As an IPA lover, I actually enjoyed their darker/heavier beers more, the Danny Brau being my favorite. I did really enjoy the blood Orange beer too -- im wary of those because they can taste artificial but this was so yummy. We got a margarita flatbread which was very good, and a Caesar salad. This is a must check out restaurant and brewery with your dog. We had a great time hanging out inside the brewery with our dog enjoying their food and beer. They offer a full menu of food, their own beer and full bar. They offer appetizers, charcuterie boards, wings, pizza, soups, salads...the list goes on and on. They always have a great selection of light to dark beers. We enjoyed a flight each of their beers and split their BBQ Chicken Flat pizza. The food and beer were delicious! I'm a craft beer enthusiast and I stopped by at the bar for the first time. I was barely acknowledged and had to flag someone over after quite some time. He then started to take my order then basically just abruptly walked away and started making another order! I tried to be patient but cmon! That's pretty rude. Everyone else was just standing around, not checking with all their customers seated at the bar. This guy was wearing sunglasses at 5:30 pm btw. Sorry, but I find that unprofessional- make eye contact with your customers! I then had to flag over another bartender! The people sitting next to me said "this place is not known for their customer service, it's poor". If that's what your customers think, u have problems. Not sure what the draw is here; crappy service and the food looked like mediocre bar food and the beer was just ok. Won't be coming back. We've been here several times before and have always enjoyed the appetizers and the leisurely atmosphere, and today was no exception! My husband ordered the George Foreman burger with a side Caesar salad and he said that both were excellent. I got the cranberry delight salad and it was FANTASTIC!! Danny Boy is always an extreme disappointment. The only reason I give this place 2 stars instead of 1 is because the Chili's in Merrillville was way worse and I couldn't rate it 0. Unfair to compare Danny Boy to that abomination of an experience. Anyway, it took TWO HOURS for someone to take our order. Yep, you read that correctly. Not to mention we kept asking different waiters in the restaurant to come help us. We finally got to put our order in after two hours and were so relieved. Then five minutes later another waitress came up to us and asked what we'd ordered because the kitchen couldn't read the other person's handwriting. Ridiculous. The place isn't that big and there were plenty of waiters. So bad. When we walked in they asked if we were all over 21. We were. The waitress did not believe us and asked that if they carded us we would all be able to show valid ID. Yes we can because we are 21. We were a little offended but got a nice table nonetheless. 20 minutes later a kid no older than 10 walked in and sat down with his dad in the bar. Since the dad was a regular, the waitress didn't even question the kid. That is so stupid. They accidentally brought something that wasn't ours to our table and set it down, which legally they're not allowed to pick back up. Keep in mind this is BEFORE we got our food and the person whose food it actually was had arrived an hour after us. The waitress told us to eat it and it was pretty good until the bill showed they charged us $0.50 for it. So petty. Friend's $7 cocktail was probably 3oz of liquid and the rest was ice. They only brought three waters by instead of six, for the six people we had. Why? I don't know. Also nachos are 90% lettuce, 10% chips. No one came over and apologized for our wait or anything.
