I found all the good chefs in one place, Murphy's Place. It's a breakfast and lunch restaurant that closes at 2 p.m. I wish Anthony Bourdain were still around; he would love everything about this place, the food, the atmosphere, the people who dine here, and the staff. I love the old-fashioned feel; I love the neighborly feel. The regulars know this is a gem. I ordered the pork chops, shrimp, and grits on my first visit. The first visit told me I had to return. So today, I ordered the chicken and waffles with a side of sausage link. The butter and syrup slowly melted into my warm waffle, keeping the waffle fluffy and crispy. The chicken was flavorful and tender. I added a sausage link that went well with my dish. I must say, Murphy's Restaurant is an all around great place to have breakfast and brunch. The staff makes this place with their warm welcome and treatment of "you have been here before, even when it's your first time."

This has got to be the best run kitchen I have seen. It's out in the open but very well ran. If this place was twice the size it would still be packed All real cooked to order not a lot of shortcuts. OJ is fresh squeezed. Mexican food is original. It's just plain good

Oh yeah. I like this place. This is the second time in my life that I've had it and the first was over ten years ago. Since then ownership has changed. They offer a full menu all day. The breakfast menu is pretty diverse with all the regular food you can want as well. My wife ordered 3 authentic Mexican tacos at 7:15 this morning. Sounds crazy huh? She isn't big on regular breakfast food anyways so this is right up her alley. I opted for a red link, egg, and cheese biscuit and a bowl of grits. Let me say that it was impeccable. I passed up my regular spot this morning to give them a try. Kinda glad I did. I needed a different taste. They also make fresh squeezed orange juice too. They offer a full line of Hispanic food from tacos to tortas! Shoot we may hit them next weekend too.

This is what food should be. Dinner can be pricey and parking is nearly impossible . . . but it's still worth it.

The inside was warm and inviting not crowded for Thursday afternoon so that was good. Our server was very informative when I asked about the popular dishes and made recommendations and was offered the specials on a little piece of paper which I thought was a good Idea. We decided on the meatloaf special and Ruban sandwich and beef tortellini soup. We were told they had big portions so we were expecting great things. Soup came first it was excellent so off to a good start, then came our food the portions were normal size in my opinion, the meatloaf was average kinda bland and dry no wow factor but just okay. The Ruban sandwich was good size but mostly sauerkraut not enough meat. The rye bead was delicious and the dressing was good but still no wow factor. The ice tea was great not cloudy. Overall the food was average but for the price I'd say a good value. On to the desserts which I took to go and were outstanding, that was the star of the show for me I guess but I'm willing to try some different things next time. It's a good little place and the Staff was excellent, but I feel like the food was average.

It can get a bit crowded, and that said to me that's where I needed to be. I tried a few times and couldn't get inside. But I finally got in, and I see why people like it so much. It's very family friendly, as I had my niece with me. Plus, overall, the waitress was very nice, and the service was fast. Now what a surprise, a special sausage was on the menu. It's hard to find what I call red rose sausages, and cooked with a little burnt, the way I like them. Well, they are here! Of course, I ordered the grits, and there were no lumps. Those are the best kind of grits. We ordered a breakfast sandwich. It's been a while since I had one. We shared that, and it brought back memories. We actually closed down the place. As you can see in the pictures, it got empty. But when you find a great, delicious breakfast with red rose sausages that remind you of home, you'll sit there, enjoying the food and forgetting about the time.

I like to try new restaurants so headed down to Griffin and decided to give this place a shot. It was crowded, but we were able to be seated rather quickly. Our server was attentive and very nice. She did a good job explaining the different items and any specials that they had.. we opted for cheeseburger or breakfast plate, and I swapped out the bacon for fried chicken breast. Also got the lunch plate with mac & cheese and fried okra.. the fried chicken breast was absolutely delicious and so was the okra. I wasn't a huge fan of the pancake, but I got the plain one.

I was so impressed walking inside and seeing the murals and artwork. The colors were so vibrant that the murals looked like they were coming to life. I asked the hostess if I could go upstairs to look around, and she said, "Of course." She also told me they have live music nights on the second floor, too. I finally came back down and ordered the Black and Blue Burger, which has the best crumbled blue cheese on top as well as onion rings on top with a side of Brussels sprouts. We also ordered the Turkey Wrap, which was a spinach wrap filled with oven-roasted turkey, bacon, Swiss cheese, lettuce, and Cajun aioli. Now who thought of that! It was so good, as was my juicy burger and Brussels sprouts. So, we decided to split our lunch in half, sharing half with each other. Plus, the portions are so huge that it's easy to share. We took our time eating because each bite had so much flavor. I must say that this place is truly one of a kind, offering the best food, service, and atmosphere.
