Somehow this place manages to pull off great food, a kitschy golf theme, some seriously cool golf and movie paraphernalia, a great bar, and a touristy vibe. Oh and there's trivia (was anyway, until we can safely shake COVID). I'll spare the details immediately and say, If you're anywhere around northern St. Johns county or southern Duval county, stop by. I don't think you'll be disappointed. Now for the details. First... I love the food. I've had a lot of different things. Start off with the golf balls. They are legendary. If you're more health conscious, the Quinoa Bowl with chicken or shrimp is fabulous. Ask for a little extra dressing, trust me. The ribs and their pasta dishes are good too. Finally... Upon arriving at this location in Saint Augustine, we had a negative experience. We came in around 7:30 pm and just wanted to have a drink or two at the bar. After a long day at the Golf Hall of Fame, the boys wanted a bite to eat. We stopped in at the Caddyshack restaurant, all very excited to see artifacts from the career of the great Bill Murray. The decor was nice, yet I have no passion for movies, let's talk food. I ordered the classic cheeseburger. It was not very good. Saltier than the waters in Club Paradise and greasier than the lanes in Kingpin. There was a hair in my fries, and unless it was Sir William Murray's, I have no interest in eating that. Finally, the cheese on the burger costs extra, despite the menu saying it was included. Disappointed with Bill and Brian Doyle-Murray to say the least. I came into the restaurant a great fan of Bill, and left feeling like I need to watch Ghostbusters again to regain my respect for the actor/comedian. We were staying at resort next door, so it was very convienent. The atmosphere reminded me of the Cheers bar of the 80's. Huge though. My husband and I got a very very new waitress that didn't seem to be trained that well. The nightly steak is not listed, nor is the price. The waitress told my husband it was sirloin and when asked how big, she made a diagram with her hands showing a 20oz size steak. For $30. It ended up being 1/4 of the size she 'showed' us. It was more like 12 oz maybe (we never did find out) and it was really really bad. I don't think it was serloin. My husband is too nice to complain or have them take it back. He ate what tasted to me like a chewy applebee steak for $30. Not worth it. The guac bacon hamburger was amazing. The potato balls were so good. We shared a cranberry pecan salad. I didn't see one pecan and a whole lot of spinach. It looked like a bowl of spinach, then we dug around in it and found the few cranberries and cheese. The flavor was amazing though and we actually enjoyed it. Would have been bettter with pecans. But again, 'we' aren't allowed to complain. The strawberry shortcake was one of the best I've ever had. So huge. We were stuffed. Other than the steak, it was amazing tasting food. I once again forgot to take pictures before we ate....they lost a star for that gross steak and having to request from random employees to find our waitress when we needed anything. She did really good at the end, but then she got a lot of tables...poor girl needed help. I know the hostess was training, but if you see dirty dishes on a tables with people that needs cleared and the waitress has 6 tables sat within 15 minutes...you now have 4 hands to help.. hostess Really focused on the empty tables, not paying attention to customers. read more

Went to Murray Brothers Caddy Shack last night for our first time! We were assisted quickly & taken to a table that at first had very bright lights. As my husband is very light sensitive due to being blind in one eye- our server Morgan was gracious enough to see if we could change tables but instead the manager Brian turned the lighting down for us. He also took a few moments of his time to talk about our first time there. We tried the Crispy Potato Golf Balls per Brian's recommendations & the Buffalo Cucumbers which were both amazing! Our meals - The Rueben & Sliders were perfect! The extra crispy French fries were everything my husband has ever dreamed of in a "burn 'em" request! The restaurant has wonderful ambiance & it was fun looking at all the memorabilia. After dinner we went into the bar for a couple cocktails and were pleased that Morgan continued to be our amazing server. The food was perfectly priced, the atmosphere was everything we imagined it would be & Morgan was perfect! We will definitely be back & are sorry we didn't come there sooner! read more

This was my first time here at CaddyShack but not for my daughter, who's been here with friends. I've had other friends recommend it highly as well. It is cutely decorated, a mishmash of golf and Hollywood, fitting for the Murray Brothers and the World Golf Village (where this is located inside of). While waiting for our food, we had fun looking at all the different movie posters and reminiscing. The waitstaff were helpful and upbeat, and our waiter (Whiff?) was quick witted. We all ended up ordering burgers, including our one vegetarian friend. (When asked, the waiter told us they did have a black bean vegetarian burger that was not listed on the menu.) The menu is varied and I was impressed that there was a nice selection of meatless entrees available. Service was swift, our drinks came out fast and our food soon after. The fries were super crisp and extra good, in my opinion. All the burgers were a hit, cooked nicely and very generous in size. I had the Mushroom Swiss burger and they were generous with both 'shrooms and cheese. My daughter had the Chicago Blues burger (blue cheese and garlic) and devoured it like a starving teenage boy. The black bean burger was a hit, my veggie friend said it had a very nice flavor to it. The other burgers ordered (not pictured, sorry) were the Classic Caddy and the Smokehouse burgers, both were enjoyed although the onion ring on the Smokehouse burger was too large to comfortably eat with the burger, so was eaten separately. Lol Most of us had soft drinks, but one friend had a couple of "Murricanes", one of their signature cocktails which he really enjoyed. So we really enjoyed our lunch/dinner here and I do recommend CaddyShack if you are in the area. It is a nice place to check out. I've heard that the Murray Brothers do come here to eat when they are in the area. That would be a fun surprise! read more

Stopped in after a round of golf (10% discount if you bring in a scorecard). Nice dining area and horseshoe bar with televisions. We had the Guacamole bacon burger and the standard cheese burger. Both were cooked perfect and tasty. Fries were also good. Service was good but the beer ( Budlight on tap) was a little flat. Overall not a bad experience and the food was good. Bathrooms needed some attention (cleaning) and some upgrades (repairs). Probably would come back in the future. read more

Came here today for lunch after a holiday vendor show at the Renaissance Resort. Sat down in a large booth. They gave us two menus but forgot the kids menu. The bartender had to get a kids menu. I wanted to order a rum runner but ended up trying their Murricane. I didn't like it. Wasn't sweet like what I'm used to. But I drank it anyway. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich with zucchini and squash as a side. My friend ordered the Pasta Dish. It had spinach and mozzarella and was in huge cylindrical pasta. They gave me their house salad which just had Balsamic vinaigrette. My daughter had the kids Mac n cheese with fries and Sprite. The restroom was clean and also decorated nicely. There was a lot of memorabilia all over the restaurant. They seemed to be slightly short handed. The server at the host stand when we got there said the kitchen was busy. Love this place. Staff is always prompt and courteous without being overbearing. I love the laid back feel. The food is great for the price. My kid loves the small gift shop and going outside to feed the fish. We have been there twice out of our many visits where they gave us a small free appetizer. It's always busy. A few visits ago our daughter forgot her Yoda baseball hat while we were on vacation. We called and the manager came and met us on her day off. What outstanding customer service. I wasn't expecting much as it seemed like a novelty type restaurant , but I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered an entree each for a family of 4 and an appetizer for around $125. I was happy about that because earlier that day I spent about the same for hot dogs and chicken tenders on st John's street. I had the New York strip and my wife had the cobia. Both were very good. My oldest daughter had the chicken and waffles and she loved it. The other daughter had the flatbread cheese pizza and it was double the size she expected. We are used to a little more seasoning, but we asked Doug if he could bring us some Cajun seasoning and he came through. Doug is awesome by the way. After visiting the Golf Hall of Fame, we figured we'd finish out our experience with a lunch at Caddyshack. It seems almost impossible to pass up being huge fans of the movie and Bill Murray, right? Well, guess again. One glance at the menu and the lack of selection coupled with prices on the higher end of the spectrum was enough to leave us questioning our decision. We eventually settled on a few appetizers since the meals around us didn't look all that great. That was probably our best decision because the quality of what we did order left much to be desired. We used to live right next to Caddyshack 10 years ago and drank there often in 2013. We got married at the Renaissance and the International Golf Hall of Fame in 2014. We recently (2023) visited during the day with our children. The food was, frankly, pretty awful. The service was fair. The ambiance is still pretty cool. Sadly, we visited on a day when "The Players" was in Jacksonville, and although they had it on TV, nothing related to golf was being promoted. Nothing.
