Trendy vibe, excellent service, great food and plenty of parking. We stopped by for dinner on Friday night, definitely make a reservation as this is a popular location. Had a wonderful scallop dish, perfectly prepared. I was initially anxious about the service, since the hostess seemed to be a bit mechanical in the way she welcomed guests, but the rest of the service team was incredibly engaging. Pricing is reasonable, a wonderful value in the area.

Second time coming here and it's still tasty! Our waiter was great and so knowledgeable of the menu and suggesting some great eats. The oysters were delicious and the fried pickles are a fav of mine personally! The restaurant offers a nice vibe and I really like how you can see the scratch kitchen. Overall, this place is great.

I hate that I can't remember my servers name because I'm doing my review a month late but he was fantastic from start to finish and everything in between. My sweet sweet girlfriend and I were gifted gift cards to ember and iron so we ended up going here for our anniversary dinner! It was really nice and quiet, with great music in the background. Intimate spot with great food and drinks. Would definitely love to go back. No complaints at all.

I love Ember and Iron, always friendly, attentive, and truly makes you feel welcome throughout the entire meal. Unfortunately this visit fell flat. The food didn't quite match the experience; while well-presented, it lacked the flavor and depth we were hoping for. The pork had no flavor and the dough was soggy and falling off of the pork chop. The corn cakes were a bit bland as well. All other items were amazing.

Once again, we had a spectacular date night at Ember and Iron. It truly offers the best bang for your buck when you're craving a great steak dinner. One thing I really appreciate is how, unlike many restaurants, they've narrowed their menu to a smaller selection of entrees and clearly focused on perfecting each one. The attention to detail really showed in the Braised Short Rib, where all the flavors came together in a wonderfully harmonious dish. While it's usually served with grits, I personally prefer pairing it with mashed potatoes. It's a small swap, but one that makes the dish even better for me. Beyond the food, the service elevated the entire experience. Our server, Joshua, went the extra mile to make our date night feel special and was extremely knowledgeable about the entire menu. To round things out, the cocktails were fantastic, and I would absolutely recommend the Gingerbread Old Fashioned. Overall, I'd say this place has surely become a regular spot for us and will continue to stay in our date night rotation.

My daughter treated me to an early Mother's Day dinner a couple of weeks ago. We chose here because she had never been and wanted to try it. We had reservations and were promptly seated. You can definitely smell the wood-fire grill but it's not overwhelming at all. The fried Brussels sprouts with bacon jam is normally a side dish however we ordered it as an appetizer. We both enjoyed it, especially that bacon jam :). To save room for dessert, we shared the ribeye. There's a $4 charge for splitting a meal which is reasonable since they give you both full servings of the sides. Even sharing the meal we had leftovers. The ribeye was finished with an herb butter and was very tender and tasty. The crispy garlic parmesan potatoes were also delicious. They are baked then slightly smashed then quickly fried in beef tallow...yummm. We ended our meal very much enjoying every last bite of the skillet chocolate chip cookie. To top it all our sever was amazing. Will definitely go back to try the chimichurri steak.

    Corn bread. Yum!

Probably the best more formal ding locations on the CR210 area. Nice restaurant. Great service with delicious options The cornbread is one of our regular go to items. The chimichurri steak is always excellent. Fantastic whiskey selection. This time, I did a flight of bourbons. You get to pick 4 and do either a half or full pour. Definitely not a cheap place to eat. Still, a good option for a better meal with great food and drink options.

The Shrimp and Grits were the best I've had!! Spicy, delicious, large portion. Yum! As always, service at the bar was stellar.

Second time dining here and it did not disappoint. We made reservations for the patio and it was a great spot for a quiet dinner without having to "yell" over the noise to have a conversation. Our server (I can't believe I don't remember her name!) was absolutely amazing! She was over-the-top professional, pleasant, and efficient with everything. She made great suggestions and checked in often. Our food was all hot and looked amazing. We started with the cowboy fries which were not my favorite. They weren't bad, but I wouldn't order again. I chose the crispy chicken thigh sandwich which made me forget all about the mediocre starter. The chicken was perfectly fried and super tender but the sauce and house made pickles made the sandwich. My husband got the lamb chop special which was also good (he said my sandwich was better). We skipped dessert but they had multiple options that sounded delicious. We did not have cocktails but the ones we saw served at nearby tables were pretty impressive. We often forget about this place because it is tucked into a shopping center but we definitely want to come more often.

I was excited by the menu but I don't think the flavors delivered the way I expected. My crab cake Benedict was flavored decently. The side salad didn't really have any dressing on it. I got the side crispy garlic Parmesan potatoes and they were kind of burnt and again not what we expected, they didn't have much flavor and they were just whole large potatoes that were fried and barely seasoned. My mimosa was good. My friends thought their entrees were also ok overall. I'd give them a 3.5 for our experience today. I would go back to try their dinner to see if it's any better. It's an affordable place and cute brunch destination! They had the jags game playing as well in the corners.

The fish and chips with dipping sauces in the background. Really needs a garnish.

I was on a ride up into Jacksonville and then back home, a bit of a loop just to see some things. Heading back, I took a non-traditional route. Unfortunately, it was starting to rain, and a good sized thunderstorm was coming through, so I started scouting for a place to pull over and perhaps grab a bite to eat. Thus, I found Ember & Iron. Frankly, as I approached the place, I was thinking that it was going to be a steakhouse of some sort. Not so. The menu is more along the lines of a high-end sports bar, aiming for the diner that wants to explore some different tastes in classic dishes. It can be hit or miss with that sort of thing, obviously. Sometimes you just don't want to mess about with a classic dish and its flavour profile. Since I was solo, and this was a Sunday afternoon, the place was busy with the church crowd, so I opted for a seat at the bar as that is always first-come first-serve. I went over the menu thoroughly, and even took a quick walk around the floor to look at some of the things that people were eating to see if there was anything that leapt out at me as being "Get This!" Eventually I opted for the beef carpaccio for an appetizer and the Fish and Chips for my main. The carpaccio was excellent, and would also make a great sharing dish for two. The fish and chips? Well, it was acceptable, but the portion size was on the small side for the expense. A single fillet on a bed of mid-level fries and a couple of dipping sauces was kind of sad. Not even any garnish to make the plate pop. The dish really needs work, considering the other dishes that I was seeing. Frankly, this is not a place that I would be intentionally going back to. If I were passing through the area again at the right time, and I had already been to other places to try them out, I would probably go back.

My fiancée and I just moved here and we were looking for a good date night spot and this was the perfect place! The vibe is very good and the restaurant has a modern feel to it. The food was fantastic - the cornbread and steak burger with bacon jam on it were the two favorites but everything was delicious! Our server was very nice and welcoming even giving us complimentary champagne for our first time. We will be absolutely going back and would recommend to anyone looking for a nice date night!

Brunch was amazing! They added a lot of tasty items to the menu. Perfect for a group or a few friends to get together. We had The Standard with a side of avocado and the Benedict. Both were outstanding and the mimosas were sooooo good. If you come, visit Alan at the bar.! Excellent service. He makes the best drinks. Cheers!

How many gluten-free options do you have?

I was explained in a thoughtful way what was gluten free, what could be altered, and what used shared equipment. So I'd say it depends on your diet. I had several great options for each course including dessert. I had no reaction afterwards. Hope… Read more

We were immediately impressed when we went in; lots of dark wood and a long bar with shelves and shelves of spirits. There were mostly bourbons and whiskeys. They even had a rolling ladder so bartenders could reach top-shelf bottles. We had about a 10 minute wait for a table on a Saturday for lunch. The time went by quickly and we were seated at a small wooden table. Our server, Erin, approached us quickly and took our drink orders. I ordered a Blue Moon and my husband had the WC Old-Fashioned. It was made with Evan Williams 1783 Bourbon and he said it was quite good. ($13). For food; I had the Rooster Royale which was a fried chicken sandwich with pickles and hot honey BBQ sauce. It was $16.50, and one of the best chicken sandwiches I've ever had! Even the bun was delicious! I'd planned on only eating half; but I ended up eating it all because it was so good. I also had the homemade chips which were yummy too. My husband had the Reuben which was $19. He said it was really tasty and full of meat. He commented that it didn't get "mushy" or fall apart. He had the crispy potatoes as his side and he raved about those too. We really enjoyed our meal at Whiskey Cake and would definitely return. The only drawback I can think of is that they don't seem to have very many healthy lo-cal options.

First I have to commend Christina, who was our server. A table of eight, she managed us with such grace, professionalism, and outstanding service! With a constant smile on her face, she asked us open questions and was very attentive. Not once did I have to ask for an iced tea refill because she was staying on top of it! The menu, though short with options did have a creative variety. We all tried the cinnamon roll, which I have to say was beyond, and I do mean beyond outstanding. In fact, it was the best cinnamon roll I have ever had with the toasted pecans and the sauce. WOW!! I ended up with the pancakes and eggs, and the eggs were cooked perfectly! The pancakes were were thick and had good flavor. It was a little overcooked for what I prefer, but overall, it was very good. Looking at the other options of what friends were having the food looked amazing. I am not a bacon eater, but one of our table mates had a bacon dish that she said was phenomenal. I will definitely be back
