My family and I have been coming here for years. Our old neighbors first introduced us to it and we've been going ever since. This is one of the best sushi restaurants in town IMO. Fish is very fresh, staff is very friendly, service is always great. Setting is very intimate. My husband and my two sons like to come here for birthday celebrations and we always get the sushi boat to share.

Aww man. I'm so mad that all I took a picture of was my miso soup. Happy AAPI Heritage Month you guys! I'm very thankful for the contributions of this amazing community and all of the cultures that make up AAPI heritage and how they make our cities, towns, states and nation a more vibrant and wonderful place to live. To celebrate, my colleagues and I had lunch at Musasi. The food was very tasty and the service was very quick. The interior of this restaurant is very cozy and authentic. It's nestled in Hampton's historic downtown area, so while enjoying lunch here, you can also take a walk through Queens Way and enjoy some other great businesses or the lovely waterfront. My sushi was very fresh. I got the California roll and the spicy tuna roll. The slices were a nice size and they give you a good portion of food. The house salad and miso soup were also very flavorful and satisfying.

Nice quaint restaurant nestled in downtown Hampton. Some of the freshest sushi I've had here in a while. I shared spicy tuna roll, California rook and shrimp tempura and although all was good my favorite was the tuna roll. I also tried the pan fried gyoza...one word BOMB! make sure you get that it had the perfect crisp and taste and the dipping sauce was perfect. The kalbi as the main course was disappointing though... it was overpriced and had no flavor, very bland would not recommend of try again. The service was decent nothing spectacular. All in all I'd rate it a 7.5/ 10

It's been a very long time since I've been to Musasi but it's still a good choice for a quick lunch in downtown Hampton. We were seated immediately and our orders were taken promptly. I ordered a bento box. Miso soup came with it and it was as expected. But honestly, I forgot how tasty the salmon teriyaki is. It's cooked really well and the other box contents complement the entree well. My husband ordered the sushi and sashimi combo and seemed pleased. 4 Stars! This could have been 3 or 4. It's an oldie but goodie, but part of the restaurant did feel quite old. Overall the food was good and the salmon pushed me to 4. Service was quick and friendly as well.

We came here on Valentine's day and it was packed! It was about at least a 40min wait after ordering but that was expected as they were short on staff like most other businesses. Besides the wait time, the sushi was quality! This place has been in business for 25 years now and I would definitely come back here to dine on a less busy day! Ambiance was nice and quaint. My favorite rolls were the Hot Seoul roll and salmon roll. They did not skimp on the yellowtail roll either. I did not favor the volcano roll as much as I thought I would have. The fried tofu was great but at the price of an appetizer, I would have ordered another sushi roll. Bottom line, this a solid sushi restaurant that won't disappoint you. Definitely go on a weekday or expect wait time during dinner weekend time frame!

First be aware of split hours if you're contemplating a late lunch. Last time: Special grilled squid was excellent, and we both had noodle soups on a cold rainy day. Bill was over $40 This time Sunomono and two pieces os sushi-and bill is $30. Food is good, seafood fresh. However, for the price I feel like the old Wendy's ad...now that I've had an expensive, minimal meal, I've got to stop and get something to fill up with.

I've walked past this restaurant too many times and not stepped in...Today, I am very glad I broke that habit. Such a lovely little sushi house and service that kept me smiling, and happily feasting on delicious sashimi. One of my absolute favorites was the Spicy Tako. Served in a beautifully carved, and delicate cucumber shell...this delicious morsel was the epitome of healthy. It was good enough....that I ordered it twice. ;) I love sushi and I LOVE Korean food...Lucky for me, this place serves BOTH! Menu: sushi, Korean, Japanese Service: excellent Cleanliness: very clean Ambiance: casual to semicasual Seating: limited seating; 8 sushi bar seats, a few 4 person tables, a couple two person tables and if you have a large group of 6 people call to make sure there is room. Again, this is a small sushi house so be patient...it is worth the wait.

We were seated right away and given time to look over the menu before the Hibachi Chef arrived. I love how hibachi restaurants sit you with other people because we were seated next to a very nice couple celebrating a birthday. Once we placed our orders, the Chef came to our table and started the grill. Andreas, our Chef, did a great job entertaining us all while preparing our food. He was funny and very personable. I decided on the Steak & Chicken Combo which included Fried Rice and Vegetables. I also was able to enjoy my friend's Shrimp as well. The food was amazing! The steak was cooked perfectly and was very flavorful and the shrimp was tender and fresh. Overall, the food and the service were a 10/10! If I'm ever in the area, I'd definitely return! Located right next to the Hampton Roads Coliseum, it's the perfect spot if you're in the area for an event. I went with two of my girls, and we had such a great time from start to finish. Our chef was so much fun -- exactly what you want from a hibachi experience. He kept us entertained the whole time, and the energy at the table just made the night even better. I ordered the filet with hibachi rice, and everything was cooked perfectly. The steak was tender, flavorful, and the rice was just as good as I remembered (honestly, that hibachi rice always hits ). Portions were generous too -- I ended up taking half my meal home, and it reheated really well the next day, which was a huge plus. Between the fun atmosphere, great service, and really solid food, this is definitely a spot I would go back to -- especially if I'm in the Coliseum area again. Honestly, I just wish I had a place like this closer to home because it was that good.

We met up with a friend of mine again for dinner and were greeted by staff while seated. Inside, they have artwork dedicated to anime. They also had anime playing on the TV and K-Pop playing on the speakers. The decor is spotless and will have fans feel right at home. For the food, here's the following: -Age Tofu. This appetizer was delicious. Cooked perfectly and the sauce really helped with each bite. We've had this at other establishments so it just as good. -Sweet Heart Roll. This main dish really delivered. It's been a minute since I ate sushi and I was very pleased with this one. The raw spicy salmon and tuna along with crab were enough protein to go with avocado and crunch wrapped with soy paper. The presentation alone was perfect. Great with every bite. A great decision to dine here for all of us. You know this will not be the last time we stop by. Till next time :)

The spicy miso was probably the winner among the ramen bowls, with the most developed flavor. The vegetarian ramen was a little mild for us, although some chili oil helped. The pork katsu itself was excellent--crispy and flavorful and served on the side--but the ramen broth also could have used a little more depth. The surprise winner was the spicy tuna roll. I really liked it and would absolutely come back to try more of their sushi. Service was really good. One warning: bring a jacket! It was absolutely freezing inside on a hot summer evening. Our server even mentioned that she had turned the air down, but it stayed cold. Overall, some hits and misses with the ramen, but good service, excellent katsu, and sushi good enough that I'd definitely return to explore more of that side of the menu.

My best friend and I visited Sunday 9/6, and for the first time ever, we were charged a mandatory gratuity fee. No one explained the fee, and it was not something we had ever encountered during our years of patronage. What made this especially concerning was that we are people of color and were seated with another party of color, and the entire table was assessed this fee. Meanwhile, the table next to us was not. That raises a very uncomfortable question: Why were we treated differently? I am not accusing anyone of something I cannot prove, but I absolutely cannot ignore how the situation looked and, more importantly, how it made us feel. It felt insulting, degrading, and as though we were being singled out. If there is a legitimate policy requiring this fee, it should be consistently applied to every customer and clearly communicated before the bill arrives. I spent years working in the food industry, so I understand tipping and the realities of restaurant work. We tip when we dine out. What I do not appreciate is being unexpectedly charged a mandatory fee without explanation, particularly when it appears that the policy was not being applied consistently. I have already shared this experience with my network, and everyone I have spoken with has been equally shocked. After years of supporting this business, we will be taking our money elsewhere. Customer service should make people feel welcomed, not watched, singled out, or unwelcome. Unfortunately, that is exactly how this experience left us feeling.
