Had a great time on the Getty tour with Vic! She had funny, unexpected stories about the art, and she really brought the museum alive. The tour was super small, so she catered to what we were most interested in. I would highly recommend these tours to anyone visiting!

Our group of 12 was signed up by Renaissance club with Ellen for a private tour in the Getty museum. She was welcoming and so full of knowledge even about the design of the building infrastructure and architecture. Then the detail about each piece of art that we stopped to see were definitely tidbits that left me planning to read more on my own later because it was so interesting. The tour is with light walking and standing around each art but there are soft cushioned chairs in most of the gallery rooms to rest if you're tired. When we were finished I didn't want the tour to end, I wanted to hear more and more! I truly enjoyed this tour and I would love to return for another tour for the other areas of the Getty! Once the tour was over I stayed to peruse the bottom floor where the photo gallery was located but it's not the same quietly moving along looking at things on your own as it is to have a guide giving you such interesting bits of information! If you're thinking about visiting the Getty Museum I definitely recommend getting a tour with Quick Culture! Thank you Ellen for such an engaging experience!

She and her girlfriends are all huge art appreciators and museum goers. I thought a "behind the scenes" art tour would be right up her alley. I consider myself pretty plugged in to the LA art scene - however, I was referred to a company that I had never heard of - ART MUSE LA. Art Muse Los Angeles is a community of art historians, artists and educators who offer small groups private art tours - in museums, galleries, artist studios and private collections - throughout the LA region. What a stroke of luck! I was put in touch with Clare Kunny, the owner and Director. She was incredibly charming, smart, and approachable on the phone. I told her I was looking for a curated art tour, something more than your typical museum docent tour. She emailed me with several fantastic, diverse ideas. I opted for a two-hour tour with a theme around women in the arts. Our guide, Susan Power, was incredibly knowledgeable. She highlighted contributions to American art of the LA-NYC gallerist Virginia Dwan at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Then we walked across the street to Spruth Magers gallery to tour the exhibition POWER displaying art made by African American women from the Civil War era to the present. Susan gave an in depth talk on both subjects in conjunction with her choosing select artworks that showed the strength of and vision of these women artists. My mother and her friends were blown away. She is still talking about it. If you're looking for something interesting, fun, and unique to do in LA - for a date night, for something to do for fun with friends, for a special occasion - I highly recommend checking out Art Muse LA. They are a gem in the rough. Thank you Art Muse LA for making my mother's birthday so incredibly memorable and special!

They were fairly flexible with arrival times, but do have your tickets ready for the attendant upon entry. Be prepared for a security checkpoint where they thoroughly search all bags and backpacks; if you are carrying a backpack, note that they may require you to wear it on your front to protect the artwork. Getting to the museum requires taking a tram, and since there is an attendant managing the passenger count, you should expect a potential wait. While you can technically walk or take the bus, the hill is quite steep and not recommended unless you are in very good shape. Parking is $25, payable by credit card at the kiosks near the elevators. As for the experience, the gardens are absolutely beautiful and offer perfect photo opportunities. The art collection is subjective; while there are some spectacular pieces, the overall experience felt a bit underwhelming for me personally compared to other art museums I've visited. That said, for a free museum, it is hard to beat. My biggest piece of advice is to research the collection and plan which exhibits you want to see before you arrive. I ended up stumbling upon some famous works by chance, but a little pre-planning would have made for a much better visit. I would definitely go again now that I know what to expect. Security can be strict, especially with backpacks. They will ask you to wear them in the front to protect the artwork. Some security staff are overly cautious, but with millions of dollars in art, they have to be vigilant.

We flew to Miami where our trip started. R and R hosted a wine and cheese party so everyone could get acquainted with each other. The next day we took the short flight over to Cuba. Once in Cuba we met our Cuban guide, Manny, who stayed with us for the duration of the trip. Manny's knowledge of Cuban history was very impressive. The trip included all hotels, transportation, tours and most meals. We started in Havana and loved our Hotel, the Malia Cohiba. R and R had activities planned for us around the clock. We toured a Cuban cigar factory (I bought a few cigars...), went to a couple of the local synagogues in Havana, brought needed items to donate to the local pharmacies and then I went to a baseball game. We stayed in Havana for a few glorious days and then boarded our air conditioned motor coach and went to Cien Fuegos. This city is on a bay so of course the ladies planned a bay cruise with cocktails and cigars, it was great! We then went to Trinidad, the oldest city in Cuba. Trinidad is frozen in time with cobblestone roads and the people still use horse and buggies. We were then taken to where the Bay of Pigs invasion took place. It was eye opening. This is just a brief review as I don't have space to write everything. Thank you Randi and Rhonda for giving us the trip of a lifetime. it was fantastic!!!
