First, this review is an HONEST ACCOUNT of my experience with this company and my knowledge of the business from the point of view of the buyer. MY OPINION IS NOT FOR SALE. As I was reading these bad reviews, it was truly frustrating. So many of the problems people have written about were THEIR OWN mistakes. 1. When looking at online pricing, read EVERYTHING written on the website and in the terms of service that might impact the price. If they say the price may change if you don't finance with them, then expect a higher price. 2. Tell them before you buy that you want to take it to YOUR mechanic to look over. That is standard in the used auto business. If they say no, leave. 3. Warranties are only as good as the people offering them. I never buy a warranty. A car purchase is a major investment. Why wouldn't you do a Carfax to see how many people have owned the car or if it's been in an accident? Why wouldn't you, if at all possible, not contact the previous owner? Sometimes that is not an option, but sometimes it is. 4. Establish your budget before you go and hold to it no matter what a dealership person says. If they talk you into something you end up regretting, that is your own dang fault. 5. Most of all, NEVER fall in love with a vehicle. You ALWAYS have to be willing to walk off the lot. Negotiate the price you want, give them your budget, and if they cannot meet it, then leave. 6. The responsibility to get the deal you want is SQUARELY ON YOUR SHOULDERS. If you go to buy a vehicle and you are unprepared, then you must take responsibility for your mistakes. 7. NEVER spend hours at a car dealership sitting in a lobby or waiting on some manager. YOU are the buyer. If you don't get immediate help at every stage of this experience, tell them you are taking your money somewhere else. Remember, ALL car dealerships, whether used or new, are going to try to get as much money out of you as they can. In our 35+ year marriage (at the time), my spouse and I had never had a credit card or bought anything on credit except our home. It wasn't that we had a bad credit score, we pretty much had NO credit score. These people took a chance on us and gave us a good deal on a great car, and financed it. That was about 10 years ago. It is a beautiful vehicle. I still own it and it has run beautifully ever since. I did all of the things I mentioned above and got a good deal. Our credit score is now more than 800 and we have been able to buy our forever dream home. We could have never achieved that if this dealership had not taken a chance on a couple who previously did not believe in financing things. We had always paid cash for our cars, but this was a car I wanted that was a little out of our cash price range but still fit our overall budget. Of course, there was a short battle of give and take as to be expected; I don't think they were expecting a disabled old grandmother being as tough on them in negotiations as they were on me, but we quickly fell into a comfortable relationship of mutual respect. I would buy from them again in a heartbeat. HOWEVER, I would NEVER expect them to give me anything. Any advantages or deals I want I WILL HAVE TO TAKE, and that happens by 1. being prepared, 2. doing my due diligence,, 3. having my own mechanic do a thorough check of the vehicle, and 4. sticking to my budget no matter what anyone there says. Oh, and NEVER discuss your credit score or give them ANY financial information other than your budget until you are at the point of sale. Your credit score, your salary and your financial information IS NONE OF THEIR BUSINESS until you are at the point of sale. ONLY THEN do you provide them with only what they need to complete the sale. And, NEVER provide financial info if you are paying cash. Most of all: you MUST be willing to walk away. THAT IS THE FOUNDATION ON WHICH YOUR EXPERIENCE IS BASED. Always Always ALWAYS be ready and willing to walk away. read more

I've had my Audi q8 for 4 months and since I've talked to Audi while my car is in their shop. This dealership sold me a lemon the techs at Audi told me this car has had piston issues since 40k/50k miles and when they sold it to me it had 75k. Now I'm being told the whole engine has to be replaced and it's $37,000. That's more than I paid for the car. Lol. Don't buy your cars from here. They're gonna sh!t the bed in a few months. Also when i bought the car they cleared the code for the tire pressure sensor cause it kept igniting rather than fixing the problem they just cleared codes to save themselves. I'm now out over $10k I put down on the car just to have it take a shit on me 4 months into owning it. My advice? Look elsewhere read more

Worst car buying experience I've ever experienced. Bought a car to be delivered to me out of state. Was promised multiple delivery days and each time it would all fall through. Took over a week to receive the car. Zero communication skills from employees. I had to text or call to get updates otherwise I would never hear from them. They would promise to call or text and never received anything. Kept blaming the transport company but didn't seem to have any urgency on their side to get anything accomplished. The woman we spoke to told us a price that we were happy with. After pulling our credit we were told another price which was $6,000 lower. For us that would not work. Went here last month to purchase a car for my wife...they had a car that we were on the search for and needed to get one for her asap. When it came time to talk numbers, one of the finance guys, a big guy wearing a baseball hat backwards and flip flops on a rainy day with a bag of skittles in his hand, popping them into his mouth one by one while talking financing numbers with us, rude and unprofessional behavior, tried to scam us by selling the car (2022 Toyota Avalon hybrid) over 2k more than what they had originally advertised for at 24,887...tried to get 27k out of us. We told him to sell at the original price and he refused, and so we decided to just walk out...that' s when our sales rep, Robert Gadddy, got one of the mangers and he called us back in and we made it work. Graham Collins (finance manager) and Robert were great and professional with us, but Skittles guy, I believe his name is Zach, was dishonorable and the main scammer...his reasoning was that my wife is new with no credit built up yet so that's why he tried to overcharge (scam) us way over their advertised price even though the vehicle was not worth 27k at all! I have a 730-760 credit score and was the main financer of the vehicle so he was just trying to see if he could scam us and get more money. And another thing, I asked them to glue down the floor carpet liner as it was peeling off a little bit on the corners, or they could have at least clipped them back into place. They agreed and wrote that down on the paperwork, but guess what? They didn't even do that. They also didn't clean the exterior or interior of the car. Anyways, it's been about a month and we love the vehicle so far. It drives smooth and is great on gas, up to 44mpg, has no issues and is the color inside and out that my wife wanted. A MUST READ This is my PERSONAL EXPERIENCE. My car salesman was BROCK.....He seemed to be a good salesman till I realized I was still sitting at the table for hours before he even asked me what car was I interested in. He was more into taking my information and paycheck stubs. He does alot of small talk, ALOT. After sitting at his table for 2 hours I asked what's taken so long, he said the manager was getting numbers. I asked why would they run anything before I even test drove but he gave me several EXCUSES . I eventually went out on the lot by myself to look at vehicles. An hour later I test drove a GMC Yukon that I wanted. We get back to the lot FRANK comes and give me the numbers but I said no because it was too high. After that we(BROCK,FRANK AND MYSELF) went back on the lot and they BOTH kept trying to put me in something I DID NOT WANT. After saying no enough times I decided to get my things and leave. That's when FRANK went into some office and came back with an amount that was more affordable. I thought this was an okay deal till I got home and looked over my contract MUSIC CITY AUTOPLEX charged me a different price from what was advertised for the truck(ONLINE PRICE AND MY CONTRACT IN PICS) MY LENDER REQUESTED $2000.00 down BUT MUSIC CITY AUTOPLEX TOLD ME $3000.00)( LENDER DOCUMENTS INCLUDED) MUSIC CITY AUTOPLEX charged me sales tax and they wasn't supposed because I came from out of state to purchase vehicle. I told BROCK that they shouldn't have and clearly they did. I bought my truck from them, but I was smart about it. I could see right through them from the beginning and I knew what they were up to. They're unorganized and shady and pushy. Fortunately I was able to bully them into lowering the price and giving me over double what they originally offered for my trade in vehicle, mostly due to my experience in dealing with salesmen. I am also fortunate that I know what to look for in a vehicle and I inspected like every inch lol they are wholesale vehicles meaning they come from auction and they sell them as is. They won't repair anything or put new tires on or anything like that (picture is after I put new tires on. The ones on the truck when I bought it were stock Goodyear Wranglers that were almost bald.) That's why the prices are sometimes pretty fair on their vehicles. I was lucky to get a truck that they had just gotten in, and one that I was able to thoroughly test out and inspect. They hadn't even detailed it, so it was straight from the auction in Texas. Unfortunately, your normal average person will not have this same experience. Don't go there expecting help. Don't go there if you give in when you see a vehicle you love. Only go there if you know vehicles and you know what everything is worth and you are prepared to haggle. The reasons they finally worked with me is because they knew I had good credit and I got up to walk out multiple times, and it was the end of the month. The reason I went through with the deal was because it really was a fair price, and I knew EXACTLY what I was doing every step of the way. I refuse to be manipulated and I am fortunate that I know how to deal with businesses like this. I am also fortunate that I ended up with a reliable vehicle, considering their low standards. But like I said, I inspected every inch and thoroughly tested it. It was a 2 day thing. Would I buy there again? No. And I definitely wouldn't send my family or friends there. They will take advantage of anyone that lets them. I refused and I was lucky. Do what you feel is right and spread the word if you have also had a bad experience here. I do not often write reviews, the experience I had tonight warrants a warning to others. I drove an hour to purchase the vehicle, I was willing to pay the internet sale price and was happy with the trade in amount. They were very pushy about the credit check, I asked that they show me actual numbers prior to allowing it. Two more times they tried, eventually bringing me a paper with no real data. I sat there for over 4 hours to have them return with no information. Eventually the salesman came out to tell me the sales manager isn't good with numbers, the finance guy could explain it to me. Apparently, I had too much equity in my vehicle so they wouldn't make money on financing. The finance employee showed something on website stating internet sales prices are subject to a certain amount financed. If you scroll down the page you find this: "*Online vehicle pricing assumes customer finances at least 80% of vehicle sale price through MCA finance partners. An increase in price (from online price) should be expected for cash-only or outside financing deals." I was not paying cash and was willing to fully finance through the dealer, how is this relevant to me? At the end of the day, I agreed to pay asking price and was unable to buy due to having too much equity in my vehicle. That's a quote from finance. One could only assume they were losing money on their own asking price and had to find a way out of the deal. read more

Drove up there from Memphis to look at a Jeep. Came back to Memphis to discuss and think it over with the wife. Next day we all agreed to everything and as we are about to drive there they call me back and say the deal is off. They can't sell it for the listed price because they will lose money. Terrible way to do business and wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Terrible experience. They also agreed to meet me halfway (each of us drives 1.5 hours) to buy the Jeep. The floor manager (not the salesman) says that cost comes from a different account so he can make that work; acting like they are losing that delivery money. Turns out the poor young salesman was just getting his buddy to follow him and drive him back. MCA wasn't doing anything for the delivery, just the young salesman who evidently had to figure out the delivery on his own. And according to their FB page, they have done this to many other people. I went to this dealership with a specific monthly payment and down payment amount in mind, and made those amounts clear to the salesman and the finance person. The month payment for the first car they brought out was twice the amount I'd specified, and the down payment 5 times as much. I restated the amounts, and the monthly payment and down payment amount on the second car they brought was still far over my budget. I walked out frustrated with their lack of professionalism and customer service and lack of transparency with financing. Don't buy your vehicle here, especially if you're female. You'll just get taken advantage of. They "accidentally" added $5,000 to my vehicle price, didn't do a mechanic check even though it was certified pre-owned, and they lied about the truck's features. I confronted them about it and patiently waited in the lobby for over 2 hours until they finally asked me to leave. They lied about the manager calling me back, and when I called them about 5 times they either didn't answer or said a manager would get back to me. That didn't happen. Would not recommend buying from this place. Online listings are inaccurate, they add about 10% to whatever you see online. That and the mileage was also inaccurate. The car I purchased was missing a headrest, which they said they would replace for me, and about a month after I purchased the vehicle I still have yet to receive the headrest. If you finance through them, you don't get any information on who will be servicing the loan so trying to set up payments is also a hassle. The price shown is if you have a 800 credit score and financing maybe 2 years or if you are bringing a check to straight buy it. Started off good. Got a video from a sales person won't mention her name. Showing me the truck. I went down and looked at it in the pouring rain. Notice broken tail lights. Broken side markers on the mirrors and some other minor things so walked away. They let me know they would replace the safety items scratches nothing can be done (I understand I'm buying used). The truck was listed around 37k so after 2 weeks I came back and they let me take it home for the weekend and I was sold. Came back did the whole finance thing. During this time I let them keep talking about monthly payments. My mistake was I was going off the 37k price that was listed. Put my monthly payment together and thought everything sounded right and agreed. Got back to financing pretty excited buying a truck. Give them my 10 day pay off for my trade in (circle back to this). They hand me the finance paper and I catch the added warranty they put on. Tell them no he fixes it. Brings my payment down even more now I'm not paying attention. Sign. Wasn't till I got home I noticed my 37k truck was just sold to me for 45.6k. I called the dealership right away and was told no one could talk to me they will call me back. I text my sells person and she tells me she will handle it. After 3 days the sales manager is finally back from vacation and could talk to me. Drove down and that's when I find out the info on their real prices that they hid. Said if I wanna change it to a 2 year loan I can get that price. In other words I'm on my own. Now to the trade it. I gave them a 10 day pay off like you normally do on a trade in. And went on my way. Couple weeks later my bank is calling me about a miss payment. This is the fun part. Nobody at this dealership could help me figure out what's going on. My bank from my trade it was calling them everyday and they couldn't get ahold of anyone either. This goes on for a month. I missed my second payment. When they finally sent a check it was short the late fees and interest so it required them to send a second check. I now have 2 missed car payments on my credit report. The parts they signed they would fix. Took about a month for them to finally order the parts. I bought a higher trim level truck that had auto dim side mirrors and blind spot monitors. Was called about a week later the side mirrors and tail light was in. Drive down get there and nobody knows anything. Nothing was ordered. So parts managers talks with me and says he will get them ordered be about a week. I say ok. Week goes by and another call everything's in. Head back and everything's there. Needed gas so checked everything out while filling up and realized the mirrors ordered are the basic mirrors with non of the features. I head back and complain. They take them back and says they need another week. I provided them a part number for the mirrors and a week later they showed up. I didn't let them install it at this time I wanted nothing at all to do with this dealership. Avoid this place please. Just a terrible dealership. read more

I'll start by saying the employees that I interacted with were all very courteous and pleasant to deal with. The vehicle I chose on the other hand, hasn't proven to be what I thought it was going to be. Roughly 2 weeks ago (approx) I purchased a 2016 Range Rover HSE Td6 with 74k miles. When I looked at the vehicle in person it was super clean, no warning lights, drove fantastic and I was very excited about buying the vehicle. This is my first Range Rover and I was super nervous about buying one, especially a 5 year old one with 74k miles, but they assured me that it was in tip top shape. To ease my mind, I also purchased an extended warranty. Since purchasing, I've had to have the DEF injector replaced (700.00+). The vehicle will be going back into the shop next week as the check engine light has come on. After doing a quick scan, the codes relate to some sort of Co2 sensor. (1,400.00+) - all of these items were not covered by the extended warranty that I purchased for $4,000+. All in all, the guys at the dealership were great; however, I would suggest that anyone considering purchasing a vehicle from this dealership have the vehicle inspected by your own mechanic prior to buying. read more

DO NOT EVER work with this dealership!! This is a warning. If my experience can help keep just one person from going through what I did, it's worth it. I bought an automobile from this dealership last April, less than 1 year ago. Within the first three weeks of owning the vehicle I had brought it back twice for the same problems. I knew better at the time but I allowed them to convenience me there wasn't anything wrong with this car. The problems continued but I ignored it for a few months. Unfortunately it got worse to the point the car wouldn't start. I bought a new battery and that solved my problem for 3 weeks. But then it wouldn't start again. I took it to a different dealership as I wanted to actually get the problems solved. Three days later I get the car back and things seem OK, BUT just a few weeks later, won't start again!!! Over the next week I called and left over 4 messages for their General Manager who to this day has never called me back. I would leave voice messages as well as messages with the folks answering the phones. A few weeks later someone in the service department called me and asked what was going on. I explained the situation and simply stated I wanted to be compensated for the service fees I had spent trying to get this car to run. She stated she would get with the GM and call me back that week. Two weeks later I had to call them back as I never got a returned call. I talked to the same person in the service area who stated "the GM doesn't feel compelled to do anything". When I asked what his solution was, the answer was, "he doesn't have one." I'm now out $35,000 from the purchase of the car, and over $2,500 in service fees to date and the GM won't even return my calls. So at this point I have a car that doesn't run, the dealership won't call me back, won't help offset any expenses to get it fixed, and won't offer up any solutions. I'm sure they also sell vehicles that run, but I know there are places that care more about their customer than this place and who's management has a soul. read more

Do Not Buy Here! My experience with Music City Autoplex was terrible after purchasing our vehicle from Johhny. They have terrible communication and poor leadership. We purchased a vehicle and paid cash for it last fall. We are just now getting the tags today 8 months later. I can go on and on about the lack of communication, professionalism, and integrity. I wish someone was honest to tell me they are not worth the time and energy. When looking for a vehicle pass this dealership and go down to the street to Serra, that's where my husband bought his Escalade!! IF LEAVING NO STARS WAS AN OPTION I WOULD DO IT!!! read more
