I wasn't very specific with a music list, and pretty much just asked him to play "good music". He met the expectation. Tom made announcements when requested and was very easy to work with. Midway through the evening he played requested songs from a sign-ups sheet. Later in the evening he was able to accommodate my desire to switch to Karaoke (drinks had kicked in enough for the party attendees to sing a little). Tom went above and beyond to make the perfect atmosphere for my annual Halloween party, and I highly recommend Music Master DJ and Karaoke for your next party. My wife and I created a song list - Tom played as planned and kept the party moving as planned. I dropped a half star because the speakers he used couldn't handle bass at high volume levels (apparently, he has 1000 watt JBLs that would have handled the louder music but he didn't bring them). I dropped another half star because the Karaoke was glitchy. Some songs didn't have words for the screen and others took a long time to download before we could sing. I realize that Tom is at the mercy of the software he uses and what's actually available in the system, but many song requests were met with one issue or another. Perhaps a list of approved songs would help manage expectations. Those two things aside, Tom was great to work with and I would hire him again. read more

We hired Tom to do karaoke & DJ for my mom's 70th birthday. We had some interesting needs as our karaoke crowd were looking to sing Chinese songs and we also needed to accommodate some guests who wanted to do special dances / performances to their own music. Tom was SUPER accommodating. We communicated weekly leading up to the party and he was very helpful. I can't imagine how much time he spent researching options to make sure everything my mom wanted at her party could be done. We ended up having to make a lot of changes the night of because of the different needs and Tom was on top of it all. He really did everything to make the evening go smoothly and to fulfill all our crazy requests - including guests who wanted to do pre-karaoke test runs.
