I decided to give this place a go after hearing my sister talk about a woman named Hala that spends time perfecting her eyebrows. With luck, I walked in, and Hala was the one who did my eyebrows. I purchased a deal on Livingsocial after realizing that this place just opened up just a few minutes from our place in Ladera and after seeing the positive reviews on Yelp. The location itself is very nice. I love everything they have done to decorate the interior. They also had some really cute rings, keychains, and makeup that you could browse through while you wait. There was only one woman working when I arrived so I had to wait a little bit especially because the woman who was getting her brows done was a bit high maintenance. As for the threading...it was actually the most painful threading experience I have had. My eyes were watering and I was taking deep breaths. I don't know why it was more painful than other experiences...could be the thread? or lack of experience for the woman who was doing my brows? I'm not sure. She didn't really ask me much about what shape I wanted or how thick I wanted my brows. She only asked me if I was trying to grow out the part above my inner eye and I said yes. Then she said she was just going to "touch up" because she had noticed that I had already had my brows shaped a little. I thought she really meant just touch up...not thin out my eyebrows. When she was done I looked in the mirror and saw that she took off quite a bit of my brows. I was bummed out but didn't say anything because what could you do? Can't put them back! I have 2 more brow threadings left on my livingsocial deal so I guess I have to come back. I will have to emphasize that I do not want her to take any part of my brows off because I'm trying to grow the shape out. My eyebrows are very thin already and I had been working hard with the owner of Pretty Threading in MV to get them to the full shape that I want. I just found the owner of Pretty Threading to be more communicative with me and she had even given me a card with brows on it and put X's where we were trying to work on growing out my brows. I am sure that she will be pretty upset once she sees what my brows look like now. I guess my point is that you definitely need to make sure that you communicate well with the woman here and tell her EXACTLY what you came in for. read more

I used to love this place! But it seems my girl who I went to every 3 weeks has now left :( (she was at the first station when you walk in) . By the way they didn't tell me this, my friend had to after I told her about my experience. They put me with someone else. Totally bummed, it seemed like it was her first day. She was breathing in my face and I wanted to vomit. She kept telling me I wasn't holding my eyebrows right and she would cut my eyebrow if it wasn't don't right. BY THE WAY.. i have been getting my eyebrows threaded forever! I know how to freaking hold my eye/eyebrow. She was so slow, it was painfully agonizing all my makeup was off my the time I had left. I've been going here for a while now, and I've tried all the eyebrow threaders and Sheyda is definitely the best in my opinion. I value her as a friend now because I've seen her so much. I visited this cute shop after reading the Yelp reviews as I have been looking for a new threading shop as the one that I had been going to in Lake Forest wasn't up-to-par any more. Got there around 430 and literally was seated right away! shayda asked me what I wanted, didn't want, etc. and got right to work on my brows! Along the way, she kept asking me if I was doing ok and if I had any discomfort to let her know and she would stop (very nice to ask, btw!). My brows look great and I will definitely go back and will bring my teenage daughter! I wasn't prepared to do my lip as it can be painful but I had it done also and I am glad that I did! The receptionist Lauren is always bubbly and very welcoming :) The waxer, Claire, is very patient and gentle especially with my very sensitive skin. Wow! What a great find! No appointment, I just showed up to see the place and ask a few questions and look for cleanliness. Assuming I was there for services, she welcoming and cheerfully invited me to take a seat. They are so nice. Suddenly I was flipped back in the chair with complete reassurance that I have nothing to worry about. Threading is quick as I have had it done before. But she explained how tinting would help. She took before and after pics. They look awesome. As she finished she followed up by adding, retired every two weeks and tint once a month. Man, she really knows her stuff!
