My husband was craving something fruity so he decided to go get some shaved ice. He asked if I wanted anything, and I said no. I have only had shaved ice once and it was just like, ice chips with syrup. Not a fan. Plus, I don't care for fruity things. So he went over there and came home with a cup of chocolate custard for me, and a cup of some tropical fruity ice with vanilla custard for him. SO GOOD! I tried his ice and the texture was amazing. Ummmm I guess I would describe it as chewy if I had to pick a word. Chewy ice. Sounds strange, but man it was great! My chocolate custard was so delicious, loved the flavor of the chocolate. Very rich and tasty. He said he got medium sizes cause small seemed too small. Well, I didn't even finish half of it, so I have it in the freezer to enjoy later. Italian ice is good though someone told me that they had Frozen Custard so I had to go and try it. My family used to go out for Soft Serve Ice cream about once a week when I was a child and I remember the taste as being one of the most amazing things I had ever had in my life. Well of course as an adult I get to order whatever I want and I have tried Soft Serve ice cream at many different places and it never matches that memory. When I tasted their Vanilla Frozen Custard it was exactly what I have been looking for all these years. I will certain be back many, many times. We were offered samples of italian ice before making a selection. I went original and stuck with strawberry italian ice with vanilla custard. The small was a good size but I do wish there was a small layer of custard in between the ice for the small (just like they do for medium). Love the large variety of flavors available. The shop itself is small inside but there were a couple tables right outside along with a separate area with hay bales as seats. Listen. I LOVE this little Italian ice joint. Tucked away in a little plaza it stays consistent and the texture and flavor of the ice is a beautiful thing. Glad they're part of my neighborhood. Thankful they make a no sugar ADDED flavor (strawberry). Parking is decent in this little strip mall. There's no indoor sit down but Mike has a couple of two tops and a cute little patio outside. You can purchase hand scooped or pre packed sizes. They also sell pickles bc why not. Currently running a toy drive 12/2022 if you have something to drop. Support local businesses! read more

What a great new spot! First of all, the guy who served my daughter and I was super friendly. He helped the lady before us and was very patient and kind. Then, when it was our turn, he was great and super accommodating to my indecisive daughter. Right now they are doing a BOGO special. We opted for two single scoop italian ices. Those are about 4 bucks each. And two large Miklatis... that's the soft serve with ice. Our total for four desserts came to under 10 bucks! They have about a dozen flavors, everything from horchata to sour apple. Root beer to mango. The juicy rancher and root beer float are probably my faves. Definitely check this place out... it's great! And a great value. And friendly service. I'm glad we've got one of these so close... I'm sure I'll visit again. Doin' it Right I love good Italian ice. Joe's is one of my favorite places and I'll make the trek down the 57 at night to satisfy that craving. But sometimes dealing with the drive and traffic is just too much- if only there were a closer option just as good. Thankfully, there is. At first I was a little snobbish- there's a lot of bad Italian ice places- some that are just glorified snow cone shops. I eventually pulled the trigger and decided to try Mike's since it's was fairly close and man, I'm glad I did. Ice flavors are really good- not everyone is a winner for me but there are several that are good options. And the frozen custard is amazing! Some of the best I've ever had. The prices are very reasonable for the portion size and to top it off, the employees are pretty friendly and helpful. I'm honestly surprised this place hasn't blown up yet. It has the potential. Not quite Joe's level yet, but a worthy competitor. I'm sure I'll be back a lot. read more

I can't believe I only just recently discovered this place! My husband and I never really get Italian ice, but since we had a coupon from a local ad book, we thought we'd give it a try. When you first walk in the door, you're greeted with a warm smile. We were asked if we wanted to try different flavors, and I probably tried about 80% of all of the flavors - no judgement either. The flavors matched the unique and spunky names, and actually tasted like the fruits that they said they were made of. We both really loved manic mango, so we both got a mini milkalti with that flavor. The Italian ice was delicious, but my husband liked the custard even more! We've gone back a few times since, and I personally came back here on my own the night before my wedding day just to have some "me" time :) It's been one of my favorite dessert places, and I also love knowing that I'm supporting a local small business. I really liked the nutter butter Italian ice they make here, or so I thought they made it here. I also thought it was Italian ice as it was listed on the menu. Apparently it is not made here and is now considered custard all of a sudden. Last week it was Italian ice and this week it was custard. Also, they are now charging a premium for it because it is custard. I was charged $10 for a Mega (medium) where it should have been $6.75. Last week one thing, this week another. Oh and to make it better it is still listed on all the menus as Italian ice. The only way I realized was that it said $10 on the receipt. As I brought it to the girls attention who were working and told them that it was not right, they recommended more affordable ice cream shops (Rich Farms and Baskin Robbins). Good luck in your future (one very upset and saddened previous customer)! Also if anyone would like a more affordable ice cream shop, please look to Rich Farms or Baskin Robbins. My husband took me here back in June. We came here before going bowling, it was a hot day so this was a nice treat! I don't remember exactly which flavor i got nor my husband but they were both alright. Idk if it's the flavor i got or if they are all that way but it was almost a little TOO sweet. Loved the shaved ice here! Glad there are still a few dessert spots around. We actually went for the custard but they were out of the chocolate one when we stopped by, so I got the cherry and mango ices and my husband got their "da bomb" menu item ice. Both were really tasty! I'd really like to get the custard next time, so I'm hoping they'll actually have some to try, but I'll update this review if that experience changes the high rating--I'm sure the custard will also be delightful.
