Best ice cream in the area or maybe OC there are so many varieties and cute cow decorations. My kids love it and my parents love it

I've been going to Rich Farm for many years and it is usually my go to spot for ice cream. I most recently visited this past Monday night around 8pm and the place was absolutely packed. Luckily there was no line to order, but every single table was occupied which is good to see for them on a weeknight. The other thing I really like about this place is that there are always young adults serving up the goods who are always smiling and super friendly. The parking lot can sometimes get crowded, but I have never had to park in an adjacent lot. They have a lot of flavors that are always available, but they also rotate various special flavors. My absolute favorite is Lemonoreo which is unfortunately not one of their regular flavors. I love lemon anything and this flavor just is the greatest tasting version of lemon ice cream I have ever had and it has chunks of lemon Oreos in it to boot. My favorite regular flavor is Banana Marshmallow which again is the best tasting banana flavored ice cream I've ever had and it has marshmallows in it which are another one of my favorite things. We tried the Apple Pie flavor on this visit and it was delicious. They have a freezer with pints and gallons of the special flavors to-go when available. The newer workers they have haven't been careful with cross contamination and I've seen ice cream I'm allergic to fall into some of the other flavors. I just went today and had an allergic reaction to cookie bits that ended up in my food. I also had a past experience where a friend of mine order Cookie Monster and it tasted like banana and I had chocolate chip and it tasted like ash. Went in there to support their 10 year anniversary but was met with horrible customer service which unfortunately sullied the ice cream experience. Their own point of sale machine was not working (wouldn't take Apple Pay) and the cashier kept repeating herself - "do you have the physical card?" After telling her twice I did not, I asked my husband to try his Apple Pay to show her it was her own machine as the issue. Again she asked whether either of us had physical cards. I asked to speak to a manager which she ignored and essentially gave up and told her to put the ice cream back. They lost approximately $22 in my sale. The irony being the owner and likely other supervisors were present but she failed to seek any assistance. read more

How did I not know about Rich Farm? I've been missing out, apparently as this home made ice cream is truly decadent. After trying out that one salty chain ice cream--I think I've finally seen the light. This place won't appeal to you if you have vegan tendencies though. The most popular flavor is banana marshmallow, it's light but complex flavor profile makes it a truly unique experience. I also tried the german chocolate brownie which had a deeper richer creamy flavor than any other ice cream I've had in recent memory. The staff was very excited to offer me any amount of samples I asked for--they know how to run an ice cream business, that's for sure. Just one heads up, the small can likely feed two full grown adults (they claim it's 1.5 scoops but I feel like I got closer to 2 full scoops). I also tried the horchata flavor and it is very rich and addictive. My family also tried the strawberry and coffee flavor which were nice too. I also liked how they offered dairy-free flavors for those who are lactose-intolerant :) They have regular flavors as well as seasonal flavors. My son, daughter, son in law, and I met a friend at rich farm ice cream last night. I ordered the German chocolate brownie and it was yummy . A very generous "scoop" was placed in my cup and served to me. I really enjoyed the ice cream, it wasn't overly sweet which was perfect. Extremely creamy and smooth with good flavor throughout. Order at the side counter and pay at the register that faces the front door. There was a long line most of the time we were there (we stayed and ate our desserts in the store). But it moved steadily and the kids working were obviously hustling, moving quickly and efficiently. Brightly lit with light colors it was inviting and gave off an almost cheerful vibe. Considering how crowded it was and the number of people in line the noise level was surprisingly reasonable. We were able to hold a conversation at the table without needing to raise our voices. My only complaint if you want to call it that is the parking lot. It's very small and woefully inadequate for the businesses in the strip mall, especially with a busy ice cream shop in the building. Fortunately there was some street parking available on the street to the west side of the parking lot as well as behind the back side lot for the businesses in the second row. The ice cream was delicious here! This is one of the best ice cream spots I've been to. My partner and I got the funfetti ice cream which was everything I could have hoped for, having the sweet tooth I do :) And we also got the tazmanian devil ice cream which was yummy too. The tazmanian devil tasted like black cherry ice cream so not as unique as the funfetti but still amazing. I loved the texture, the smoothness and the creaminess of the ice cream. The service was also wonderful; they gave my partner and I as many samples as we wanted to try, which is always something I appreciate at ice cream shops.
