When a reputable Auto Museum refers you to this place, you expect excellence. When you see the name, you expect cool. When you pick up your car after service, you check both boxes! Called Volo for a recommendation to have some mechanical and body work done on my 1978 Lincoln Town Car. I questioned going to a Mustang shop for a Lincoln, but hey, they are all Fords underneath...right? Turns out Chris is a car guy, a purest who appreciates everything from the Mustang (clearly a passion), Lincoln's (he owns one) to lots of other cool cars. My car has never looked or run better. The service was excellent, the staff friendly, and they do a great job communicating during the process. Awesome experience!

suppose to be new, but rusty

I took my rare 64.5 Mustang Pace Car to Chris to finish up after 3 other body shops screwed me over. Chris was recommended by Jim Smart. So many, many things were wrong, but here are the major ones. I took brand new parts in with the car, they disappeared and new ones were ordered from Kentucky Mustang. If you use this shop make sure you check your parts list and see that they don't keep charging you for the same parts. That happened to me more than once. I don't know if the parts shop was to blame or Chris. And if they say they will send parts and then if not used on the car Chris will return and get a refund, make sure they do. When I drove up to check out the supposedly done car. The horn didn't work, passenger tail light didn't work, grease was on the headliner, visors, and carpet all brand new? The splash shields were missing on the front of the car. The driver window will not roll up all the way and catches. All the stuff (except the grease on the visors and headliner) is still wrong when I got it home and to top it off there are scratches on the threshold drivers door which weren't there, when I drove the car. Chris tried to blame the driver who trailered the car for me, but the driver has pictures when he picked up the car and the scratches were already on the car. Chris also had said he would finish the car for $20,000, and wanted it in 5 payments, I had sent him four payments and when the car was about done he said I still owned him $8,000. When I showed him my cancelled checks to prove I had paid him $16,000, all he said was ok, not sorry I didn't record one or he was wrong. So if you decide to use this place make sure you keep very good records of everything and watch your parts. Don't give them your credit card and cart blanch with your account, check everything out. I took lots of parts to Chris's, some brand new in boxes, and only received back a radio that isn't even mine.

Brought it to Chris and his crew for what we thought were just some minor redo's (upholstery, carpet, radio).

Since this pandemic, recession/depression started I have been reviewing companies you really…read moreshouldn't waste your money at for a multitude of reasons, but I feel the need to point out businesses that I've always kept close to the vest as a widely-held secret, but honestly, if you still drive, you can't afford to waste your money at some 200K mile mechanic chain today either. One of the first things I do when I am working at a new office is to find the auto repair shop that the owners and managers of where I'm working at and trust with their car repairs, so when my office moved out to Kane County, that shop is Dundee Automotive. I originally had a Dodge Neon that I had bought years ago during a previous contract gig in Phoenix Arizona and I'm 100% certain Dundee Automotive kept that 'thing' running longer than any of the previous mechanics could ever dream of keeping mechanically sound, and it was their eye for catching things other mechanics would have missed that I felt secure with their service to give that car to my nephew on his 18th birthday. I've also bought a car from Dundee Automotive, and other customers will give them the heads up if they want to sell their car and as much as it sounds like a cliche, I bought a Subaru Forrester that was one of Randy's niece's cars and drove it for about a year, and I was able to sell it for more than what I paid for it. Most recently in 2017, I picked up an Audi A4 Quattro (also from Arizona) and while I'll let the dealer do the oil changes and give me the free service inspections, I leave it to Randy and his ace mechanics to do whatever service is needed as its considerably less expensive than the Audi dealer. If you've read my other Yelp reviews, you would know I drive this Audi A LOT around the Midwest, to conferences, conventions, client sites, etc, and (knock on wood) for German engineering, (knock on wood, again) to Dundee Automotive for keeping it running like it was new. Don't take my word for it, take a look at all the other reviews for whatever reason Yelp isn't currently recommending, as they are also five-star reviews, so the next time your check engine light goes off, give Randy and the mechanics at Dundee Automotive a try, I'm sure you won't be disappointed!

Ordered the parts and called to make an appointment to have them replaced. He scheduled me for first thing Friday morn 6-12-26 After checking in 8 am he told me ir was probably goingvto be hours before they coukd get to it.After waitng 4 hours in hot sun he came out and backed out of job and commitment. I did not presdure him. He could have refused at the point of making appointment.Instead he Grossly Disrespected me. In discussion i shared thst a mechanic onnyoutube faced with a hesvy rusted trailblazer did the job in 30 minutes, so if it goes easy it is not a big job by any means. To back out assuming the absolute worse casr possibikity and then to allow me to sit 4 hours ranks as the single most pathetic business management intrractionni have ever had in 60 years

    Speedy G Towing

Scam Operation - Avoid at All Costs…read more Speedy G Towing is not a legitimate business -- they are scammers. They towed our truck without any valid reason and then tried to charge an outrageous amount of money with no explanation or itemized invoice. When we questioned the charges, they became aggressive and threatening, saying they wouldn't release the vehicle unless we paid in full, immediately. It felt more like extortion than a towing service. There is nothing professional about this company. They exploit people in stressful situations and use intimidation to get paid. Avoid Speedy G Towing at all costs. If you've been scammed, report them. Companies like this should not be allowed to operate.

****DO NOT WHATSOEVER USE THIS TOWING COMPANY****AVOID AT ALL COSTS****…read more I had a vehicle towed 75 miles. I was told the pickup was $125 plus $4 per mile. I had expected it to be around $425 (KEEP IN MIND I HAD MULTIPLE QUOTES FROM OTHER TOWING COMPANIES AT $500-$550 FOR THE SAME TOW). I asked the question to the driver before my vehicle was picked up if the cost would be around $425, and was told yes something like that. Only to find out once I was dropped off the cost was $950+. Beyond frustrating and if I could rate negative stars I would. Clearly a business trying to take advantage of their customers and not assist. FYI - I was able to get some money knocked off once I told the customer service how ridiculous this was. (Still paid $800 for the tow) Customer service then threatened to impound my car and charge me even more if I did not comply. Wouldn't use them again even if my life depended on it.
