These guys run such a professional shop. Customer service beyond fantastic. Here's an example: Cody did some brake work for me in late 2023. My 68 still pulled right when I hit the brakes hard. I took it back in May 2024. Cody diagnosed it and decided to replace the fluid hoses. Took it back today for new hoses and that didn't solve the issue. So, Cody completely replaced the entire two front wheel brake components. Then when I asked him to let me pay him, his response was "I feel bad that we didn't take care of this initially and no charge today". Repair shops don't do this but he was insistent to get it fixed right and spent 2+ hours getting it dialed in. I was in the service business my entire career. These guys do the right thing. If you need Mustang work, get there quick. They are so busy with cars from all over the country. I purchased a 68 Cutlass from Volo Auto Museum in April. I live in California so I called Christopher to complete a vehicle inspection. I paid him $350. He got over there to Volo quick and sent me the docs ASAP. Nice guy, very professional. Only takeaways are, it took me 2 weeks to get a receipt. And I expected more of an inspection for $350 let alone the paperwork inspection came from a notepad with scribbled writing. Anyhow, I have quite a bit of issues for a car I paid $30k for. 1. Tail lights don't work 2. Seat belt was cracked 3. Convertible top went out in one week 4. Engine keeps shutting off 5. Brake lights went out 6. Electrical issue galore 7. Emblems and decals fell off inside interior I know it's not his fault, just wish he inspected a little longer or took more time. Our 66 was showing signs of outliving it's 35 year old restoration. Brought it to Chris and his crew for what we thought were just some minor redo's (upholstery, carpet, radio). Luckily for us, they caught, made us aware of and repaired some major frame rail rot going on for what I think was a VERY reasonable price for all tear apart / rebuild work they had to do. If they hadn't caught this, no telling where we would have been when the car fell apart. Called Volo for a recommendation to have some mechanical and body work done on my 1978 Lincoln Town Car. I questioned going to a Mustang shop for a Lincoln, but hey, they are all Fords underneath...right? Turns out Chris is a car guy, a purest who appreciates everything from the Mustang (clearly a passion), Lincoln's (he owns one) to lots of other cool cars. My car has never looked or run better. I took my rare 64.5 Mustang Pace Car to Chris to finish up after 3 other body shops screwed me over. Chris was recommended by Jim Smart. So many, many things were wrong, but here are the major ones. I took brand new parts in with the car, they disappeared and new ones were ordered from Kentucky Mustang. If you use this shop make sure you check your parts list and see that they don't keep charging you for the same parts. That happened to me more than once. I don't know if the parts shop was to blame or Chris. And if they say they will send parts and then if not used on the car Chris will return and get a refund, make sure they do. When I drove up to check out the supposedly done car. The horn didn't work, passenger tail light didn't work, grease was on the headliner, visors, and carpet all brand new? The splash shields were missing on the front of the car. The driver window will not roll up all the way and catches. All the stuff (except the grease on the visors and headliner) is still wrong when I got it home and to top it off there are scratches on the threshold drivers door which weren't there, when I drove the car. Chris tried to blame the driver who trailered the car for me, but the driver has pictures when he picked up the car and the scratches were already on the car. Chris also had said he would finish the car for $20,000, and wanted it in 5 payments, I had sent him four payments and when the car was about done he said I still owned him $8,000. When I showed him my cancelled checks to prove I had paid him $16,000, all he said was ok, not sorry I didn't record one or he was wrong. So if you decide to use this place make sure you keep very good records of everything and watch your parts. Don't give them your credit card and cart blanch with your account, check everything out. I took lots of parts to Chris's, some brand new in boxes, and only received back a radio that isn't even mine. read more

When the time came for me to get my 1966 A code Fastback Mustang restored I did some homework. After a few nights of doing internet searches I narrowed the choices to a few nearby shops. The next day I phoned Mustang Restorations Inc. The phone was answered by Christopher the owner of the shop. We talked for about 45 minutes about everything from family to Mustangs. By the time the conversation was over I realized that I had found the person and shop that I was looking for. He assisted me in arranging transportation to get my car to his shop in Dundee which is about 80 miles from my house. Once the car got to the shop he and his able staff determined what would be the best course of action to return my car to better than factory condition. He phoned me and we talked about the restoration. He followed that with a written estimate. I agreed to the terms and conditions. As the work progressed he kept me informed every step along with high resolution photos. He also welcomed a visit to see first hand the progress. The day my Mustang came home was beyond my wildest expectations. He kept his word and performed the work in a timely fashion with a level of quality that is unmatched. My father in law's 1966 Mustang Coupe Sprint Edition was his pride & joy up to the day he passed away at age 90. He was the original owner, my wife drove it in high school, and all of my now adult kids not only rode it in it but got to drive it as they turned 16. I tell you all of this because the day I found Chris via a Google search and called him about restoring it, I could tell I found the right guy to work on anyone's pride & joy. He cares about the people and stories behind the cars he works on. Chris and his team are amazing. We went from estimate to completion in less than a month and they did a lot of work. He kept me apprised via email with photo updates on engine / transmission overhaul, interior work and all the work they performed. Now I have a great picture history of "before and after". All true to the estimate. When I went to see the finished car and meet Chris and his sons for the first time - yes I had the car shipped directly from out of state to Chris' shop without ever meeting Chris - the car ran and looked amazing. Chris is the kind of guy who is not going to talk you into over spending - from day one he came up with a plan to make the car a pleasure to drive by working on making it mechanically sound and restoring the worn and torn interior upholstery while still preserving some of the original "patina" by having his detail team do some selective exterior touch up and a complete buff out. I have a 1969 Shelby GT500 and had Chris do a full restoration on the vehicle. The results were outstanding and have been independently validated by auto show judging. I understand that some projects do not end as well as others, however I have worked with Mustang restorations for over a decade and found them to be honest, thorough, conscientious and consistently looking for ways to resolve issues amicably. My journey started over 20 years ago when I purchased a 1969 Mustang Mach I. The car had been hit hard in the right rear quarter. Repairs were done to the car prior to me purchasing it but upon taking the car apart you could see the repair. After many years of the car just sitting having been taken all apart the body repairs were started. The first body shop I took it to seem to have done a nice job, from what I could tell everything looked fine. The car seemed like it was finally coming along until one day I got a phone call to find out that many of the body parts had been stolen. Then the car sat for many years. I had lost interest in finishing it. Fast forward to 2 years ago after searching I was able to locate and replace the missing parts so off to a second body shop to start all over again. Finally it was done or so I thought. Unfortunately the person ( Steve ) I chose to put the car back together said they were still major issues with the bodywork going back to the very first time the car was repaired. Steve recommended I talk to Chris and take the car to Mustang Restorations. Steve talked to Chris about the problems with the car. Chris came up with a plan to fix the car and I agreed to let him take charge. Chris kept me updated every step of the way with emails and pictures. I also stopped by regularly to look at the progress. I have to say every time I would see my car I was very happy with the work and progress. My 1991 Mustang GT's white leather interior had a small tear in the driver's seat when I bought the car used nine years ago. As time went by, the tear grew until I found it unbearable. The rest of the car is perfect and I have a Mustang Club of America gold trophy in concours driven (judged on a 500 point basis) to support it. I called Mustang Restorations and asked about having the seats recovered. TMI was the recommended company to purchase the leather from so I found it at CJ Pony Parts online for the least expensive price. Once I had the new leather for the front and rear seats and the new seat stuffing, I dropped it off at Mustang Restorations. Cody helped me unload my seats from my Mercury Mariner that I brought them in. He also helped unload the boxes with the new covers. He took my info and said the seats would probably be ready in about a week. I received a phone call from Cody to let me know that a project ahead of my seats took a bit longer than anticipated and that my seats would be ready for pick up 8 days after I dropped them off instead of 7. I really appreciate the call and the update. All we really want as customers is to be informed. This kind of communication is terrific. I received another call to confirm that my seats were ready. When I went to pick them up, Chris and Cody helped me load my seat up again and they look fantastic. It was $450 well spent to have the work done professionally by Mustang Restorations. We're lucky to have a Mustang-only shop like this in the Chicago area. Great job, great communication and all around great guys. I am way out here in Northboro, Mass and had a problem with my 1973 Mustang.
