Auto Krafters is probably one of the most reliable, reasonably priced body shops there is. After a minor accident I went to them and told them it would be out of pocket for my repair. Not only do they do great work, quickly, they tried to save me as much money as physically possible. (With my deductible I didn't want to use insurance for something that wasn't really major.) I live over 1 hour away , round trip , but remembered how great the work was when family and friends used them. It was so well worth the drive. This place was terrible! The worst customer service I have ever received, they start off friendly and when it is time to conduct business Stick it to the back side of the customer! I was told one thing and given another, I had conversations with the associate, and when he was called out on it in front of his fellow co-worker suddenly Amnesia is in the air and nobody remembers anything. I got the, I kind of remember I apologize line and they did not do a damn thing to make it right. They tell you what you want to hear to get you in the door and that's it. My truck was filthy on the inside, and the bed of my truck looked like somebody took a mud bath, definitely not how I dropped it off! I would not recommend this place to anybody and I would be extremely cautious if you decide to gamble with this shop! They turned out to be just another Shady Body Shop, extremely disappointed! The rear of my car was damaged pretty badly by a drunk driver and I needed to get it fixed ASAP. My dad has always brought our family cars here so I thought I might as well give it a shot with my brand new badly damaged car. I brought it in for an estimate and since the other woman was going to pay for it they made it easy for me because they contact the insurance company and everything. I brought my car in on a Monday and it was finished a day before they estimated it to be finished. Honestly I was stunned because the work was fabulous and it was done in a quick manner as well. My car looked brand new and I could not have been happier. I will never return to Auto Krafters due to the awful customer experience I received. First and foremost, when I receive an estimate, if the cost will be more than estimated, I expect to be contacted to give permission to proceed with the work. This was not the case. I was billed 24% more than the estimate. I was not contacted, and no apology was made when I brought it up. In addition, all places of business should be able to explain their billing process to a customer, especially billing hours. When I asked for an explanation of my bill I was told "that's how the system works," with no understandable explanation as to why the system worked that way. It took about an hour of calling before I gave up hope that they would be able to explain their billing process to me. I still believe I was billed incorrectly for labor hours. Through my difficulty in dealing with the two issues above, I was interrupted, ignored, and had not one, but two employees (one being the manager), raise their voices at me. This is unacceptable customer service, so I will no longer be taking my business here. read more

I've needed car repairs twice and both times the staff has been professional, effective and friendly to deal with. Ernie, the gentle giant, is a hoot and does quality work. Aside from help with my car, he was a tremendous help in getting my vintage Vespa back into good-looking shape (and there is only one dealer in the whole Chicago area that will even touch a vintage Vespa, not Scooterworks, which will sell you a vintage bike but won't lift a finger when you need repairs). I brought my car in after I was in an accident. I asked quite a few people who I trust about all things cars who they'd recommend and Auto Krafters came up over and over. They were right. I got a detailed estimate at the very beginning. Throughout the process, Auto Krafters would call me to update me on timing, where they were at, etc. Really appreciated! They didn't need to do that but appreciated the customer service. Picked up my car and it looked flawless. The quality of the work was outstanding. Additionally, they cleaned the inside of my car for me too :) When I picked up the paperwork, they walked me through everything and explained the insurance process. It could not have been more clear or easy to deal with. There are a LOT of auto body shops in this area so there is competition -- Auto Krafters is the place to go. My car had minor damage from an accident and Auto Krafters was recommended by the insurance company. The entire process was quick and professional, from the initial estimate to picking up my repaired car. I was told the repairs would take two days, however, it was less than two days from drop off on Monday morning, to pickup on Tuesday afternoon. They also contacted the rental car company for me and arranged everything. Additionally, I was able to leave the rental car with them and they notified the rental car company that it was returned and needed to be picked up. Not only was my car repaired quickly and perfectly, it was washed and detailed....a complete and welcome surprise! I would definitely use them again if I ever needed repair to my car.
