Overall, it's been a mixed bag of experiences, because ultimately it depends on the masseuse, fluctuating prices, and their schedule. Overall, it's a solid facility and large enough to wear. It can accommodate all sorts of groups for a variety of different massages. There are plenty of chairs for foot massages, private rooms galore, custom shoulder massage chairs, and a serene ambiance with Chinese style furniture that helps with its overall vibe. There have been times where other patrons are talking and there have been times where the mass masseuses are the ones chatting (audibly). The back walking, deep tissue massages are the ones to get, but not every masseuse is able to do this. Some folks may complain about the lack of English, but that has never posed an issue for anyone I brought here, including myself. There are benefits to being members here, in which prices are always going to average out on the cheaper side and is an option, I would recommend for any local. If the massage was good, remember the name of the masseuse. Cash is king, even though they also accept credit cards. This was my second visit in a few months, and the service has been consistent both times; we thoroughly enjoyed our massages. When you arrive, just take the elevator up to the reception area, where you're greeted with friendly smiles and offered water. While the staff has limited English, it hasn't been an issue for me since I book my appointments with an English-speaking coordinator who lets them know what I need ahead of time. The facility itself is large and very clean, including the restrooms. The massages were absolutely wonderful, and both times I felt the extra $10 for the body scrub was well worth it. We paid to unwind, not listen to them talk. As we were paying, someone came in saying a van had been broken into -- which turned out to be our rental car. When we asked if they could check the security cameras, we were denied. No one offered to help or even showed sympathy, which felt cold and suspicious. Please be careful parking here. I I called and specifically asked for Swedish massage and they said that they're well trained on it which they really weren't. They only know reflexology. It was very simple to schedule although I would recommend calling directly with them as the ClassPass app was limited compared to the option available on their website. I came on the 4th of July and they were operating under regular business hours. The spa is located on the 2nd floor and once those doors open you're welcomed to a very calm energy with dimmed lighting and tranquil music playing. The 60 minute massage was amazing my masseur was adjustable with the pressure to really work out my knots. My favorite part was the hot stones and I'm looking to try the cupping in the future. I got the Thai hair shampoo massage and while my hair was definitely clean afterwards, the person who performed the service was a bit awkward, leaving a lot of room for questions. When they blow dried my hair a brush wasn't used and my hair wasn't dry by the end of it either. Post-treatment, the person waited while I tipped and then immediately took back the next client once I had signed without saying anything. The service was incredibly relaxing after a long week, so I will give them that. Total $132 less than 1 hour, no scrub and no paraffin. He said how do you want to to pay? I regret paying cash and leaving it on the beds. We said we cash, gave him the car and proceeded to leave. Now both therapist were now standing waiting for a tip. We walked and proceeded to enter the elevator. He said hey where's the tip! We said we left cash on the beds. The scalp treatment is ridiculous unless you like having only the sides of your scalp by your ears rubbed raw. I've been to an Asian spa in Vegas before where they did shampoo head massages. I couldn't remember the name of the place so I looked it up. I ran across another salon that specialized in it but they were booked. Mutao was # 2 on the list. I decided to go check it out. It's connected to Korean bbq and karaoke. So it wasn't really relaxing cause you could hear the music downstairs. I really wanted a good head massage, I asked if they dried the hair and if that time was included in the 30 minutes because I had to leave by a certain time. She took me back to the room, left the door opened and she just went at it and just rubbed the ends of my hair together. She kept flooding my ears with water. She mentioned a massage and I said yes I want a head massage, but I can't do the hour massage cause I had to leave by a certain time to get ready for a concert. She quickly shampooed my hair and dried part of it. It took about 10 minutes and then she told me to get up and follow her. I asked her where we were going and she said I was going to cup my back and just charge another $40. I said, "no I don't want that and I'm going to a concert and I don't want bruises on my back" I was there for less than 30 minutes and paid $40 and left a tip. They shouldn't even offer that service and I understand they want to do more services. But when the client tell you upfront they shouldn't be pushy. read more

Writing this to remind myself that this place wasn't for me. I bought a Groupon because I was in desperate need of a 90 minute massage. This place opens at 9am and I called around 9:30am to see if there was an appointment available. I wasn't sure what to expect since a lot of the reviews on Yelp are very hot/cold. Either people loved this place or hated it. I wasn't sure for the latter. I'll be very honest. This place is located on the second floor of the building. As soon as the elevator doors opened there were 2 ladies at the desk and 3 men standing to the side of them. While checking in, the men were talking over the ladies, in which I assumed they were talking about who would service me. I was walked to a room and the ambiance was nice. It had music and dimmed lights as well as a clothing rack. There are several issues I have with this place. One thing I did not like was the laminate flooring. Every step the therapist took overtook the spa like music and it was hard to relax. Also when the therapist moved the stool from one end of the bed to the other was beyond loud. Also the massage itself was not relaxing. I have "boulders," as knots. When the therapist discovered this, he either told me to relax and "don't worry," over and over again, or when I flinched, he took an elbow to that area, making me tense up even more. At one point I thought he was on his cell phone because he was speaking a language I didn't understand, but turned out he used google translate to tell me my knot was possibly an old strain from the gym. Don't get me wrong, I love strong deep tissue massages and I try to get one at least once a month. However, this massage was rough. All I can do is describe it as being "sloshed" around. I felt like there was no technique being used and just hands finding a knot and aggressively going over it over and over again back and forth as fast as possible. The massages I know of find knots and work through them strategically through stretches and techniques usually from one end of the muscle to the next then repeat a few more times slowly, not back and forth as fast as possible to the point where my body is being bounced around from one end to the other. I literally felt like jello on a plate. Anyways, I felt like I communicated with the therapist and also my body language should have signaled what my body needed to relax, but that didn't happen. Once I finished, I opened the door and actually couldn't find the way to the front desk. This place is huge. After circling my way around, I eventually ended up there and the therapist was standing at the desk with the receptionist. I asked to tip on my card and they said "how much?" After reading these reviews, I just said $20, because I needed to get out of there. I wasn't relaxed and to be honest my calves and biceps were in so much pain. Areas where there aren't knots. Anyways, I won't be back and this morning I woke up with bruises. read more

I've come here several times over the last five years and each time, I come back wishing I'd experience what was once called a five star experience! At first, they were giving us an attitude for requesting women.. 2 of 5 were women due to availability which was fine, but they were rushing us to get undressed and kept barging in and had an attitude. I ended up having one of the ladies and man was she ROUGH. She said I was too tense but she was making me feel so uncomfortable with how rough she was. My friend in the same room as me didn't even have her, got a taste of her wrath (she threw a pillow at her bed). I didn't get her name, but she was the shorter, skinnier lady that was older. Edit: I am editing my review because while I had a bad experience, the Customer Service after the fact was top-notch. They were responsive, classy, and helpful. But as I stand here on hour SIX of trying to salvage my hair, I need to warn others. I went for the 90 minute head spa treatment. It was really relaxing and I was half asleep. When it was over she said 'there's just a knot back here I need to get out, one min' And she asks if my hair gets knotty often and I said no I dont brush it daily,but I never have a problem when I want to. After 10 minutes I was so confused what was happening and what she was doing with my hair. So I asked to see the knot and to just brush it out myself. The entire back of my head was matted and like one big dreadlock all stuck together. She said she could fix it and I stupidly let the person who ruined my hair, try to fix it for about an hour. It did improve, but it's still completely messed up (see below) and I felt hair ripping as she was trying. I have beautiful, long hair that I get unsolicited compliments on daily. Not saying that to brag, but to make you understand how gut wrenching this is. I've been crying all day on and off. Im not even a crier, but this hits hard and was so preventable. I don't want to leave my house because I look ridiculous. I've been told by multiple hair people I called that with time, patience, and a ton of coconut oil, I can likely get the mattes/dread out. But that could take days and a ton of time and I freaking have kids and a life and I just wanted a relaxing 'me time.' Instead, I have bloodshot eyes, I'm embarrassed to go out, and I'm trying to find someone available on a weekend to help me get this out. And I will likely have to pay $$$$$$ to have that happen, on top of paying with my time. You can see in the pictures that there's been a little improvement and I hope to get it all the way out. And then I hope my hair is not completely damaged. the large matte that's left has pieces from basically my whole head attached and it's balled up so tight it feels hard. I know hair grows back, thankfully, but I hope no one else ever has to deal with this. I don't even completely understand how it happened ... and from a licensed practitioner. My 6 year olds know how to brush my hair and not knot it. They felt bad and offered for me to come back to someone else. I found out about this place on TikTok and was sold on the Thai shampoo. I don't know what was Thai about it, but a lot of places local to me in southern California were popping up with this trend of a "(insert Asian country here) hair spa" so I was intrigued. I did check Groupon and found a deal on there for a 60 minute full-body massage with paraffin wax and back scrub and hot stone for $89 but some how I got a discount and paid $66.75 total. When I called to make the reservation I let her know I had a Groupon and she asked if the rest of the group had one also and I said no, and she said for them to not purchase one, that she would charge them the same price as the Groupon. There was four of us and three of us got the same type of massage so when they showed us to the room we started laughing because we didn't realize all three of us would be in the same room next to each other with three guys doing our massage. I appreciated it because it meant we would all be done early and we could get back to our hotel cause we were going to the Beyonce concert that day. Overall, great experience, I wouldn't do the Thai shampoo again, but the massage was excellent and the guys were so nice to us! THE THAI SHAMPOO: we signed up for I believe a 30 minute Thai shampoo, the same guys that gave us our massage did our hair and they were talking a lot and I didn't understand the language, but the tone sounded like, "Dude wtf am I supposed to do here?" My hair is curly and I didn't wash it for three days cause I knew we were going to do this but it sounded like it was a problem because it has more tangles than straight hair. I'm happy to report Leo was able to detangle my hair without pulling at my scalp at all and causing any pain. The shampoo experience itself I wouldn't do it again because there was no soothing spa music playing, the room was brightly lit with sunlight and it just felt like I was in the bathroom with two dudes (my sister was getting her Thai shampoo next to me) who were like doing their best. They literally shampooed, rinsed, repeated for thirty minutes. PRO-TIP: if you brought your own shampoo with you, ask them if they can use that, because the scent of the house shampoo was Pantene Pro-V and I haven't used that since I was in college.
