Found this ramen place close to our Hoboken AirBnB as it was walking distance. Easy to find and some street parking if you drive in. The restaurant was decent. Plenty of tables and good for groups. One good ramen place in Hoboken! Have been here multiple times. Went for my usual vegetarian creamy ramen- loved the texture of broth. Less salt but overall good. The veggie tempura buns were out of the world . Loved the sauce and the crunchy spring onion topping on the tempura. My husband ordered the spicy tonkotsu. It wasn't hot enough and had a bland taste. 4.5* Wanted ramen on a cold night and this was one of the options! Partner and I walked in and there were only 2 groups. As the night went on it definitely got more crowded and there's not too much seating so I think there ended up being a bit of a wait. Started out with ordering the chicken karage which was alright! Great ramen place with all the essential foods being delicious. I feel like you need to have the staples right to be considered a delicious ramen place. The place has plenty of seating; I was surprised when I saw the isolated slots where I believe you can order and just eat by yourself at a booth so you don't feel bad for taking the whole table. I'm terms of food, we got 3 appetizers: bao buns, karaage fried chicken, and takoyaki. All there were great; the takoyaki I felt like could be a bit hotter in temp (indicated by the fish flakes dance usually when steaming). The bao buns were balanced but nothing to blow my mind. The karaage chicken was the best; the sauce was on point. The ramen all around was great; I got the Volcano Miso Ramen and it was slightly salty but I didn't mind that. Ordered the Miso Ramen, muteki Ramen and chicken Ramen.. all were just a few bites but really was not thrilled. 2. Service - 1 star - we got sat down and asked to do a QR code to view menu. App qas a pain to deal with. Ordering was cumbersome and once ordered, had to pay via same app, which ended up erroring out and needed to go through order placing again. Ramen is one of my favorite dishes, so I was super excited to give Muteki Ramen in Hoboken a try! I previously had tried their Jersey City location, so the Hoboken location was a fun surprise. Their noodles are even made IN HOUSE. The Kimchi Buns were AMAZING and definitely a must order when you go. The staff are all extremely friendly and attentive-- and the restaurant is located right on the main road so easy to get to. The interior is nice and cozy with plenty of seating available. I want to start by saying that Muteki does many things right. The vibe, service, and menu options are all there. My three star rating is mainly for the ramen (I ordered tonkotsu and my boyfriend ordered miso) and I will break it down even further: Noodles: 5/5 The tonkotsu came with straight noodles which I prefer. My new go to when ordering ramen in on a cold night. Uber Eats came through with a hot and fresh delivery. The delivery was quick and by separating the broth and the contents of the ramen bowl, texturally everything was as one would expect....crunchy veggies, medium soft noodles, perfectly thinly sliced pork. This is not served in a style which cooks the meat in the broth, like you'd see in something like Pho. For delivery, I prefer this and it also allowed me to add as much or as little broth as I wanted. The packaging on the bag is very clever and I also enjoy the edible branding on the bao buns. We've convinced my friend that she actually likes ramen! Thanks Muteki for expanding her world of food choices! I went safe on my friend's meal and ordered her the karaage ramen ($20) with the karaage bao buns ($9.75). I love the light breading on fried karaage. It gives you the satisfying crunch without the heavy grease. I was impressed by the number of soft drinks offered. We ordered a sparkling lychee drink ($4.50) to go with the meal. But in the end, since we could only finish half, my friend decided to repurpose it for her lychee martinis and leftover ramen the next day. They also had a sparkling mango drink and some Japanese glass bottle sodas which have the fun ball that you push in to drink. The karaage bao buns had the classic soft and slightly sweet bun. The inside was packed with crunchy veggies and a crisp piece of karaage chicken. I was hesitant by the inclusion of pickle, but this is more like a Japanese pickled radish. Kosher dill pickle from a jar, this is not. Uber Eats has a 2 for 1 offer right now. We ended up getting 2 orders or 4 bao buns, which gave us one more to have the next day with our leftover ramen! My volcano ramen ($20) was packed full of veggies as any good ramen should be. The bowl was filled with bean sprouts, bamboo shoots, buttered corn, scallions, cabbage, kikurage mushrooms, and the pièce de résistance - half of a creamy soft boiled egg, all nestled on a bed of fresh ramen noodles. The grilled sliced pork on top was flavorful and had a perfect pull-apart texture. I ended up going half way in on the broth to control how spicy this dish was. As soon as I opened the broth, the spicy aroma filled the room. The salty and buttery miso combined well with the red chilies. I have a medium heat tolerance and this was perfect for me. read more

Whenever the temperature drops an extra bit, I immediately start craving ramen. It is my cold weather weakness. I realllyyyyy miss going out to my favorite spots and I've tried a lot of Hoboken ramen gems of the years. Since quarantine started, I've been able to see how one of my favorite foods comes to go or via delivery. Muteki is officially a front runner! I know getting ramen delivered can be a little daunting, but most places I've tried have truly mastered it, including Muteki. I got the Tonkatsu Ramen and the hot broth comes separate from the ramen and the fixings, so nothing is soggy or over cooked. You can see from the photos I uploaded that all of the veggies look so crisp and fresh, and the same for the rest of the ingredients. All I had to do was combine it all into the bowl they delivered it in and I was good to go. Everything was delicious and looking back at the photos is making me crave another bowl ASAP. My husband and I ordered delivery from Muteki Ramen a few nights ago and were really impressed! Ordering ramen for delivery seemed a little risky; I was worried it would arrive cold or the ingredients would be soggy, but it tasted just as good as I'd expect it to be in a restaurant. I tried the Muteki Ramen bowl, which came with tender pieces of pork and chicken chasu, veggies, noodles, egg and a fish cake in a flavorful chicken and pork broth. It was a big enough portion for two servings, which is always a plus! We also tried the shrimp shumai dumplings. I order this dish fairly often and Muteki's version was a standout.
