Whenever my friends come in from Washington DC, they always come to Mutts & Martinis with their golden retriever. They're extremely picky about dog venues. Teddy (their dog) can get overwhelmed if there's too many dogs in one area or if there's no supervision. Luckily, in Mutts & Martinis, they have people watching over the dogs to break up any fights and making sure they don't roughhouse too much. It's nice and spacious. Lots of area for dogs to run around or lounge in the pool. Speaking of, and yes, this is important- when a dog inevitably does its doggy business in the pool, there are people there whose jobs is to clean the pool immediately afterwards. Really cool concept and in a great city that is super dog friendly. I'm kind of sad that we don't have one near us. We brought our dogs here while on vacation to St. Pete over the weekend. We have two labs that absolutely thrive on anything water, people, and tennis balls and this establishment had it all. It's $8 to enter and you have to produce your shot records, but we had them ready to go! We quickly entered the pool and our one dog was off to the races. She found her victim to throw the ball for the duration of time we were there and quickly attached herself to that individual. The dog lover seemed okay with it after apologizing 100x to them, so we let it go. Our other pup was a little resistant in warming up until he took a dump in the pool and loosened up a bit. The staff was super awesome and cleaned it up so quickly and sanitized the pool and area around it to eliminate any bacteria. We were able to have some drinks and relax while they had a blast. They had an indoor and outdoor area as well so some of our friends escaped from the heat with their dog who was less than enthusiastic about swimming. We had a great time listening to John and the band and getting some puppy love! We had chicken tenders and a burger and the food was good and came out quickly. The service at the bar left a lot to be desired though. We were left sitting at the bar with empty drinks for up to 30 minutes a time. The bartender in the light blue tank top did an amazing job trying to keep up and running all over the bar. The lady in the dark blue tank top seemed to do almost nothing. Fun place for dogs and humans! The staff are some of the friendliest people and clearly love what they do. Make sure your pup has their updated shots and the fee for them is $8. Mutts and Martinis has a great sized pool outside but with plenty of shade over it and chairs around. There's also a large bar area and I believe dogs need to be on a leash around there. They've also added additional sitting areas - one being inside so that'll be great in summer months. Put 4 stars because the martini I ordered was made wrong but still good :) read more

We visited Mutts and Martinis on a Wednesday (free entry day!) and had a pretty mixed experience overall. Our 7lb terrier mix, Steve, did surprisingly great among all the big dogs! The highlight was definitely the staff in the play area--Ash, in particular, did an awesome job keeping the pups safe and happy. The pet parents were also really attentive, which made the atmosphere feel super safe and welcoming. ‍ The drinks were good, and we even treated Steve to a dog burger that he absolutely loved! We stumbled upon this while sitting at a nearby brewery and looking at nearby business on Apple Maps. I had a list of pet friendly breweries, but this hadn't popped up since it isn't a brewery (it's much better). A full bar for the humans and an off-leash splash pad park for your dogs to run around and have fun while staying cool in the Florida heat? So fun! And for only $7 per dog, it was more than worth it for the 2 hours we stayed. They have a large bar with some snack foods available to order and a very fun dog-themed cocktail menu. We each had 2 cocktails that we sipped on while our Aussie ran around having the time of his life making friends and playing in the water. Our Border-Aussie decided she wasn't in the mood for the splash pad, but loved the huge fans they had outside to keep cool, so she laid in front of that and sniffed with other dogs from time to time. All of the staff we talked to were so friendly and everything was really clean. They also had an off-leash "dog park" area on the other side of the bar area if you wanted to bring your dog to play there and not get wet. I wish we had one of these in Indy, but realistically it would only be good for a few months out of the year. We would most definitely come back here if we vacationed nearby again. This must be what heaven is like. The adorable, playful, happy, controlled chaos at Mutts & Martinis is now a core memory forever etched in my brain. Walking into their play area for pups is an instant serotonin boost, and getting to see my four-month-old nephew puppy making so many new pup (and human) friends and experiencing the water with the help of the amazing team at Mutts & Martinis is something I'll always treasure. The food is definitely nothing to write home about, and our ordering food felt more like an imposition to the bartender than anything, but the overall experience was so good that it made up for it. Just maybe skip the food if you go. The options are limited and come out sporadically, and the food tastes like frozen food heated up. However, the drinks are tasty and they had some fun seasonal options for the summer, so it will be interesting to see what yummy concoctions they dream up for the fall. The pricing for the drinks was also very good, and you could try out certain cocktails for just $5. But let's face it - the reason you go here is to see all the cute dogs having the time of their lives, and that is a five star experience every time! You may even run into the owner like we did, and you can tell how much she loves dogs and her community. And that's something I'll always support! Tips if you go: - Expect to get wet if you sit near the pool. The pups have a blast running through the water and past the people, so you will end up soggy. But you'll be soggy and smiling. - If you bring your pup, you'll need to provide their vaccination records, and they'll be assessed for their temperament around other dogs. It was as clean as possible for a dog bar, and didn't smell like animal much either (to my surprise lol)! We had the opportunity to take the pups here for opening weekend. Due your diligence and get all your doggie paperwork done up front by submitting it on the website before you go. This will get you in the door faster. While you are in the bar area, you keep your dogs leashed. This is an opportunity to get yourself a drink. The outside area keeps small and large dogs separate. They do this by having 30 minute rotations. If you what to bring both a small dog and a large dog at the same time this could be an issue. The water area is fun for dogs. They have a blast. Some like the water. Some don't. They have some balls that you can throw. The main issue with outside is there is extremely limited shade. I think they need to fix this and fast. The easiest way is for them to order some sun shades from Amazon and run them between the building and the fence. The afternoon in Florida is brutal and I'm not willing to spend one minute in it. The inside area is a nice place to take a break. They have plenty of fans. The bar area is actually cooler than the inside area. On our second rotation, they asked everyone with a dog in the inside area to leave that section which I thought was odd or maybe a w miscommunication. Every few rotations they clean the pool and both people with small dogs and large dogs get pushed from outside and then there isn't going to be any place to sit. Not sure why it was this way but it was opening weekend and they are still figuring things out. The drinks are ok. They have some interesting items on there. They had a food truck outside. For the bar and inside areas my biggest recommendation would be to get D ring hooks that leashes can be attached to and install them every where you can. People need a way to secure their dog's leash without having to loop it underneath a chair or table leg. You'll save yourself from a lot of issues with spilled drinks, dog confrontations, and stressed out owners if you add this. read more

Overall had a decent time. We were there for winter pride and the female bartenders were amazing. Unfortunately, the male bartenders seemed to have issues waiting on black people. I could be wrong, but I noticed several times when a black customer approached the bar and was usually overlooked when someone else would come up after them. I know the place was pretty busy, but all the female bartenders didn't seem to have any issue noticing which customers appeared in order and waited on everyone accordingly. If my spouse and I go back, we will definitely seek out only the female bartenders when ordering a drink. read more

We have a German Shepherd 9 month old and we saw they were having a German Shepherd meet-up. We're actually not bar people, but because our puppy has not wanted to go into our pool at home and needed more socializing I thought this would be a great idea. She absolutely loved hanging out with the other dogs and got into the round small kiddie pool. The staff fills the kiddie pool with ice cubes and she loved eating them and stepping into it. She never really went into the dog pool, but did step into it a little bit. All in good time! The staff was very nice. They take their time to play and pay attention to the pups. We were asked if we wanted anything to drink, but we declined as we don't drink alcohol and didn't want anything else. It was early about 9-11am for this session. They have an indoor area that is meant for smaller dogs and we did go check it out, but there was really nothing special there other than some dog toys. You have to keep your dog on a leash while in the lobby area and the bar area, which is understandable. We paid only $5 for our dog to go to the pool area for 2 hours. That is a great price! If you're looking for a place to take your dog so he/she can run around with other dogs and jump into a doggie pool while sipping on a beverage, this is your place. Even if you don't have a dog and just want to get some doggie lovin in while sipping a cold beverage, this is your place also. They have a wide open space to sit and have a drink and you catch watch the dogs on a TV screen or some TV if you prefer that or you can sit outside around the doggie pool while your dog plays. The facility is secure, while multiple gates to ensure your dog stays safe, and there are multiple employees monitoring the dogs at all times. Great spot with really good drinks, but the service is slow. They only had one bartender and another staff member helping once in a while. On the weekends, they really need two or maybe a better system. We ordered, and then the bartender took other orders for two other sets of people, gave them their drinks before making our drinks. I highly recommend this place! I went Saturday 6/10 around 12:30, The entire staff was very friendly and always aware of what was going on. With so many dogs they did great at keeping it a safe environment no matter if your dog was big or small! My dog was shy so I wasn't able to really walk around but they had cocktail servers which was great because then I didn't have to worry about bringing my dog back and forth. This is our favorite dog bar to take our pup. The staff take extra care to encourage safe play and the other dog owners all are great with dogs. On our first trip, the owner helped our pup get use to the pool and now he's a water bug. It's nice to grab a seat and a beer and pet all the wandering dogs. The food is hit and miss, but suitable for a snack. My favorite is the hummus and my husband enjoys the chicken wings. Pizza is reminiscent of skating rink pizza from the 90s, so I'd recommend skipping that one. We haven't ordered from the dog menu because this spot is a bit of a drive for us to risk an upset dog belly, but they have quite a few dog snacks on the menu. There's a dog pool area and separate, more chill fenced area. The staff set up umbrellas on hot days to keep the water cool. We also give our pup a break by keeping him on leash around the bar if he gets overstimulated. Overall, our little guy gets lots of healthy socialization here. Plenty of nearby street parking and dog friendly businesses on Central make this a nice day out with our dog. read more

While my previous visits have been very positive our visit yesterday was not! The owner & her friend were there with her friends 2 dogs. Both of them barked excessively which was annoying. The real problem with their dogs was their aggression with any dog who ran! They would bark & nip at any running dog & rather than correct the issue with their dogs they would yell at the dog who reacted! At one point there was another dog who joined the "pack".....believe me we saw a similar situation at a dog park where the situation got out of hand and a nasty fight with injuries occurred! While my dog loves the place & the hired staff has been nothing but wonderful the owner needs to be fair to ALL the dogs and be watchful for a potential bad situation. Would love to see this place thrive however at this point in time I'm concerned about my own dog being the drawn into a bad situation! read more

I absolutely love Mutts and Martinis!! It is mine and my dog's favorite dog bar to go to. I love that they have a full liquor bar which is hard to come by at off leash dog bars. My dog loves to swim and I love that we can come here. The best part of Mutts and Martinis is the people. All of the staff are super friendly and they make sure you pup is entertained the whole time. They also keep everything super clean which is amazing. My only complaint is the food is not the best but everything else is amazing so that would not stop me from coming. Keep your eye out because they do tons of events every week! read more

I attended the grand opening with my Roux and Scot and we had a blast. The pups loved being in the pool. I think what is so great about this place is that the staff and owner make you feel like family. they all greeted everyone in the room and even checked up on us throughout the very busy opening. no soon as I walked in the owner, Natalie spoke to me right away, making sure my pup was going to be comfortable playing with the bigger dogs.. luckily roux doesn't have a preference but it was so awesome to know that even on busy days like that... this place is still organized and welcoming to all its guests!! I'll def be back, the waitress, Court was super attentive, honestly the entire staff was amazing. and to the pup patrol guy who got in the water to assist my pup with a ball she couldn't reach.. Mutts and Martinis is AWESOME!!! We went for a Frenchie meetup for the 1st time and really, really enjoyed ourselves. Natalie the owner is a sweet and smart gal, on top of everything running perfectly. It is clear that she loves what she does. The service was exceptional and the drinks were great. The "lifeguard" is a kind and dog loving lady that watches over and plays with the dogs and keeps everything clean and clearly loves her job. We are telling all our friends what a fun and relaxing time we had with our dog and friends, and we will definitely be regular customers there. We highly recommend spending time there with your dog, or even without your dog, it's so entertaining and joyful to see. *Full disclosure: I visited on Opening weekend, which also was Memorial Day weekend * We were SO excited to come, we heard about this location opening well over a year ago and instantly become obsessed with the concept and absolutely could not wait to visit. Over the last few months we knew it was getting close to opening so we counted down the days and we're sure to make the nearly 2 hour trek from Orlando to make it to opening weekend. I would have pre-purchased my annual pass, but I'm glad I did not. When we got there, we were immediately stressed by the parking situation ( or lack there of ). There was not a parking lot available, instead just a few spots in street parking. I HOPE this was just an opening weekend situation, as they were very busy. Awful. We drove around the area several times looking for parking. When we made it inside, we were very pleased and surprised by the friendliness of the staff, this was never an issue as everyone we came in contact with seemed so genuinely happy to be there. We were disappointed by how Small the actual dog park area was. The only actual dog friendly space is the 10x25 ( an obvious guess ) fenced in play area with the pool. The rest is a leash-required dining/bar area. My dogs were easily overwhelmed in such a small area with so many dogs and could not even try to have fun. I was just hoping as a business that seems to pride itself on how pet friendly and pet oriented it is, that dogs would be allowed to free roam in at least Most of the area. We were almost shocked that we had to keep our pups on the leash in every area but the small outdoor uncovered space . The drinks were good and there was a nice selection. This, and the employees are the reason I was able to give 3* As excited as we were for this place, there are other dog bars in the area, that are more convenient and more pet friendly that we will probably continue to go to, as this one was disappointing for us. I wanted to love it so bad, but unfortunately, maybe my expectations were too high, because it missed the mark for me.
