For years I have been going to Mutual Propane to get my tanks filled for my gas BBQ. My oldest son also goes there to get tanks filled for his camping stoves. Their prices are always rock bottom. We came on the Saturday before 4th of July because all of the exchange places were out of stock and they refilled our tank for 16$. We didn't get there until 3:30pm, 30 minutes before closing but they took us anyway and it only took 10 minutes to get through the line. They have a minimum purchase, so if you only need 1 tank filled, there are a lot of other options that will cost less. At 3:52 PM I called the office to make sure they're gonna be open when I get there I'm 1.2 miles away it takes me five minutes to get there I show up just before 4 PM gates are locked and some guys telling me hey we're closed so I say that's impossible I just called you guys yeah we're closed he says then I pull up to the gate and I see Jose walking away and telling me no no no we're closed wouldn't even hear me out and I ask him then why do you guys tell me to come down here if you're close I just talked to someone on the phone telling me you guys are Open he shuts the door and I never see him again. And now it's 4:04 PM when I pull away, dumbfounded. been going to this location for 15 years been getting propane from Jose himself for 15 years in a word unprofessional and you guys need to update your website and let customers know that you guys close when ever you feel like closing it's more than obvious that there is little concerned for customer satisfaction I know it will definitely be weird having to look at Jose to get propane from him knowing that he could just disregard a loyal customer like that I question the management and if I was the owner I would be concerned about my bottom dollar and my own people turning away customers before you're closed bad business bad business bad business read more

Very easy for the drive up! Drove right next to the propane dispenser, rep came out, filled the tank, and off I went! Plan on spending the minimum amount, it was $14.00 when I went, even if you have containers that are smaller - I didn't care even though I only had a basic 20lb grill tank, the speed and convenience are worth it to me! read more

Awesome place if you need your tank filled for your equipment or just small tank! The guy who greeted me was super friendly and got me in and out of there within 5 minutes. $2.50 per gallon and they have a $13.47 minimum charge as of today, 5/1/17. It's kind of tricky to find. Dishonest, Thief, Swindlers - these are all words that come to mind from my experience today at Mutual Propane. I don't know if they have a new guy working there, but I have NEVER felt so taken advantage of as I do after leaving there. I brought in my propane tank to have it topped off for the weekend and usually I pay them $4 or $5. After waiting in a line for about half an hour (there were 3 people ahead of me), the guy made a comment about the tank still had some propane in it and then proceeded to fill it. When I handed him a $20 bill for what should have been $5 in propane, he charged me 3x that!! He said they now have a minimum. WHY DIDN'T HE TELL ME THIS BEFORE HE FILLED THE TANK?!? He knew I only needed a couple gallons and when I asked if he could fill my other tank so it would reach the 'minimum' he gave me some bull about how he had already closed the ticket and I couldn't add any more on. ***THEN He started making jokes with the other customer behind me about how he doesn't run a charity here and that he had to get paid somehow*** Well, Unfortunately that is through cheating their customers and not being upfront with their information. I want to only pay for the propane that they actually give me - pure and simple, honest business practice. We will NEVER COME BACK! **And all the "great" reviews on Yelp are only because they are buying them from their customers by offering a discount when they leave reviews. Totally, completely UNETHICAL and they should be ashamed of themselves. Please, take your business elsewhere!! read more

This place is awesome. My go to place for filling propane tanks. Great prices, much cheaper than uhaul or gas stations. The gentleman that fills the tanks is really nice and likes to joke around. You can pay cash or credit, but cash is better because you pay at the pump and it saves you a couple minutes. Credit card, they have to fill out a form and you have to go inside. There is a minimum charge, but its way less than one of the tank exchange things, and less than anywhere else that fills tanks that I have found. Hidden gem off the 55 freeway. Easy peasy to get your propane. Drive up in the back of the building, pop your trunk, drop your tanks, and they fill them right up. Once done, put them right back into trunk. Cash Register right there to ring you up and then your on your way to your BBQ or heating up the stand up heaters! read more

Have been there several times. Went today to fill up two bbq containers. One tank's fill up is less than the $12.42 minimum charge, but still a good price. Convenient on/off freeway location and 55 and Edinger. I just filled 3 tanks and topped one off for a bit over $30 and it was quick - very happy. 6/16/2018 Still our go to place. Visit a couple.times a year to fill up 4 tanks for our BBQ, patio heaters and firepit. Came to $30 something as not all were empty, which is far less than we'd pay elsewhere. Yelp discount honored. I asked what they charge to refill my tank . $14.50 and with Yelp check in 0.15¢ off per gallon so I paid $12.12 even better price where I used to go and pay $20 to refill . There was a little bit of a line but the worker there was fast and cracked a few jokes back and forth with me while he filled up two propane tanks for me. Great place to refill your b-b-q propane tank. Very friendly staff. Quick and easy and at a great price, particularly with the Yelp discount which was gratiously given when I requested it. The only downside is that there is no exit to go south on Edinger. Be aware that if you go north, you can't make a u-turn at the first light (which is the ramp onto the 55 going south). Better to stay in the right lane and turn right at the auto dealerships, make your u-turn there and then turn left onto Edinger to go south. read more
