First time here but will definitely not be the last! Came for a friends Pre-birthday bash with a group of nine! I'm not even going to lie I was not thinking I was going to enjoy karaoke this much! But man it has opened my mind to more things to do out in DC that's outside the box. The best part of having this private karaoke room is everyone can feel comfortable and be themselves without feeling like they gotta act a certain way. This is the first time I actually went up and sang anything! Lol. Usually I'll be too shy but again another advantage of having that private room. And there's a plethora of songs and they include the explicit versions which usually I have never seen before! Great! Lol Now to order the food is one of the best ways I've seen in a long time! Now everyone downloaded the menu on their phones and was able to order what they want. Which is cool because there isn't any of that trying to split checks nonsense that can get tedious! And the turnaround for you getting your order was crazy fast! I was like well damn....lol. And the food options are great and tasty. If you like Korean/Asian food you will have no problem finding something to munch on. My only complaint is the drinks which were really made good was given to us in those small plastic I would say kid cups, but their prices were still the standard DC prices. Other than that I can't wait to come back with the group of ladies again because we had a blast!

I'm gonna put a few pointers out there before getting to the actual review: 1. If you're coming to karaoke sober, you're doing it wrong. 2. If you don't sing at least one Britney Spears song (per hour), reconsider your life choices. With that in mind, this place is great. Staff is incredibly friendly and courteous. The space is spotlessly clean, the rooms are kept in tip top shape. Equipment was also clean and seemed very new. At least two TVs per karaoke room, in case you're an amateur and actually need to see the lyrics instead of just FEELING the music (see point #1 above). Great spot, definitely worth the hourly rate if you're looking for a quality karaoke night in DC.

The customer service was great! We unfortunately had to reschedule and was late to the rescheduling due to car troubles but they were nice enough to let us at least use the karaoke room for an hour until another party came in. The food was really great! I got the bulgogi udon and it was very flavorful. I always wanted to try hotteok and this pastry was delightful with the accompanying mochi ice cream. It is a great destination in DC for a night out.

Two and a halfish. I want to give them the benefit of the doubt since our visit was opening night. Clean bathrooms, minimalistic decor. The song interface was fairly easy to pick up on, and the staff were so nice and well-meaning. The English songbook was probably the most organized karaoke index I've seen, but the videos themselves tended to be text only, or set to 80s video clips. Mics are also relatively unforgiving, serving to amplify volume without regulating any sound quality; don't expect those shower acoustics you get elsewhere! Unfortunately our vodka sprites arrived as Cape Cods, which I didn't mind but it disappointed other people in our party. I think the main issue we had beyond that is their decision to use top-shelf vodka when we didn't request it. We ordered pork gyoza and tofu apps to nosh on, which came relatively quickly. The gyoza were pretty standard (yet still the highlight of the night), but the tofu isn't something I'd get again. The firm sheets were seared nicely as advertised, but other than the light tossing in soy sauce, it was bland due to massive underseasoning. The bed of onions could've been browned a little more, and needed salt and pepper. Had the tofu been marinating in the soy sauce for awhile, we might have been less turned off by the dish. Japchae is disappointing, they use bean thread vermicelli instead of dangmyeon. As it were, I'd be willing to come by to try their main menu, but I've been too spoiled by other karaoke joints to sing here again.

Good selection for karaoke. The food and drinks were really good as well. Rooms were a little small though.

Ask the Community - Muzette Karaoke & Restaurant

Do they offer non-room karaoke? I'm trying to find a good place for karaoke that doesn't require a room rental. It's so much more fun that way when you have so many people interacting.

They have an open bar area and I believe a dining area, all of the rooms are private karaoke.

Will we be hit with hammers?

No, however they write in tips if you pay using credit cards here so I highly advise you only use cash.

However, when we walked in and saw only a couple of tables occupied, I had a feeling it might not live up to its appearance. Unfortunately, that feeling turned out to be justified once we looked at the menu and tasted the food. Overall Ratings Atmosphere - 4/5 Service - 3/5 Food - 1/5 Parking - Street Parking Atmosphere - The restaurant is modern, clean, and well maintained. The dining room is attractive and comfortable, and it feels much more upscale than your average Korean restaurant. Service - Service was adequate. Nothing stood out as particularly good or bad. The staff took our order, brought out the food, and checked on us occasionally. What We Ordered - -Galbi - At over $40, this was by far the most disappointing dish of the meal. I've had galbi at countless Korean restaurants, many of which charge under $30 while delivering significantly better flavor and quality. The seasoning was noticeably different from what I'm accustomed to, and not in a good way. For the price, it felt extremely underwhelming. -Pa Jeon - Just okay. It was a standard Korean pancake that didn't stand out in any particular way. -Tofu Stew - We ordered it mild, but it was surprisingly spicy and excessively salty. The saltiness overwhelmed most of the other flavors in the dish. -Korean Fried Chicken - Unfortunately, this suffered from the same issue. The chicken itself was decent, but it was far too salty, making it difficult to enjoy. Final Thoughts - The biggest issue for me was the value. Nearly every dish felt overpriced for the quality being served, and the excessive saltiness across multiple items made the meal even more disappointing. While the restaurant looks great and has a modern atmosphere, the food simply did not justify the prices. Considering how many excellent Korean restaurants I've been to over the years, this was one of the more disappointing experiences. Unfortunately, I wouldn't return.

I've been to Mandu a few times over the years and I'm sorry to say my most recent visit didn't hit…read morethe mark. I visited on a Friday around 6:30 PM and sat at the bar to catch the end of happy hour (Mon-Sun 5-7 PM). The bar was empty at the time, but a few other people showed up later. The dining room had a handful of tables occupied. In short, easy to get a seat. Drinks were good. I like the Somaek ($6) which is a small beer and a shot of soju. Beer ($7) was beer. We got some beef and pork mandu (dumplings) that were pretty good. 6 pieces for $10 on HH. We got two entrees, the Ddukbokgi ($28) and Yukgaejang ($29), which came with four banchan. Ddukbokgi is chewy rice cakes, gochujang, onion, and bulgogi. We thought it was only ok -- we've had better, including at Mandu in the past. Yukgaejang was a new dish for me. The menu described it as a "spicy beef stew, brisket, noodles, shiitake, bean sprouts, and egg." I expected the brisket to be sliced and recognizably brisket, but it was pulled -- it looked and tasted more like pulled pork. The dish also didn't have any noodles in it. I didn't like it. The banchan was seaweed, bean sprouts, kimchi, and cucumbers. It was okay. Service at the bar was fine.

What a fantastic place to grab some delicious food and drinks!…read more Ambiance: it's like having dinner in someone's comfy kitchen. No reservations, just stop on by, grab a seat, and order your food at the counter. Service: service was pretty fast once our food was ordered. Staff were pretty good and they moved quickly to accommodate all guests. Drinks: they have a pretty solid list of local beers and ciders along with wines. Food: I ordered the Jjajangmyeon which was scrumptious! The roasted black bean sauce added some sweetness to the savory flavor oozing out of the shrimp and scallops. The noodles were perfectly cooked and the cucumber on top helped cooled the dish. I also ordered a side of cabbage kimchi which was the perfect addition to my meal. My boyfriend ordered and loved the Spicy bulgogi stir fry and I must say, it was delicious, even from the small bite that I had. My go-to order is the soy-marinated brisket, smashed salmon, duck fried rice, and their incredible homemade kimchi. On my recent visit to the restaurant, I decided to branch out and try a few new things. The chicken wings were outstanding. Perfectly crispy with a delicious seasoning that had me reaching for another one immediately. I also tried the house fried rice for the first time, and it was packed with flavor and cooked perfectly. The restaurant itself has a very relax atmosphere, and I was pleasantly surprised to learn they offer a happy hour with some great deals. I didn't get a chance to take advantage of it this visit, but it's definitely given me another reason to come back soon. Whether you're ordering delivery or dining in, Chiko continues to impress. There are several sauces available for topping/dipping. The cucumber-wasabi, teriyaki and Korean red are noteworthy. Plus the free, hot miso soup is a nice touch.
