Doyle is such a cool upscale bar and restaurant at DuPont circle, super close to the metro. We stopped by to enjoy the beautiful floral ambiance outside but the inside is just as impressive. It was also quite empty on a weekday evening after work so you might not need a reservation if you're stopping by at that time. Note that they don't have a happy hour menu. I got the dancing queen cocktail, which was so so delicious and refreshing. Then we ordered a charcuterie plate which was enough to share for 2, maybe 3 with 1 or 2 other appetizers. The chicken sandwich was also really tasty and well portioned with a side of fries. The service was really good and attentive.

What a cool bar with midcentury vibes and an Irish twist! Enjoyed our break in this very cool spot on Sunday afternoon. Loved the tasty bar snacks, but most surprising was an incredible twist on an Irish Coffee called the Senor Sheridan. If you bottled the chocolate maltiness of an Irish Car bomb but made it coffee... you have this amazing concoction! Service here was prompt and everyone had a smile on their face. I will visit again!

Ambiance inside is very classy and cozy, great spot for an intimate conversation and lounging while sipping drinks. Got a glass of pino grigio and it was nice. They also gave free snacks of chips, olives, and salted almonds. The service was very friendly and nice experience overall.

Attentive service, clean bathrooms and a really great outdoors space. When we were here, we even saw a couple get engaged which was so heartwarming to see! Drinks are good and based on a cool premise. Their cocktail menu highlights drinks that are either inspired by or I believe tied to different Irish counties. I got the Red lady, which was perfectly spritzy and inspired by the Wexford county's strawberry fields!

This review reflects my experience dining out with celiac disease, an autoimmune disorder that requires me to maintain a diet free of gluten (including cross contact). SERVICE: 4/5 stars DRINKS: 4/5 stars FOOD: Not applicable AMBIANCE: 5/5 stars VALUE: 3/5 stars OVERALL RATING: 4/5 stars Yesterday, friends and I popped into Doyle for drinks after eating brunch nearby. Doyle is the bar within the Dupont Circle Hotel; it is stylish, elegant, and quiet--the perfect locale for chatting with friends on a gloomy Saturday afternoon. Though we did not have a reservation, the host was able to seat us quickly at two small, round tables directly to the right of the street entrance. Service was excellent; we received water quickly, with our orders taken shortly thereafter. I had three Madras cocktails, all of which were delicious--strong, flavorful, well-balanced, and refreshing. The server provided our table with a complementary trio of bar snacks, which were not safe for me to consume, unfortunately (wasabi peas and a duo of nuts). No service charge or automatic gratuity was applied to our bill when we paid. I will be back to Doyle for drinks again soon.

This is a swanky hotel bar/ restaurant. They have some cute/ cozy feeling seating areas. The bar is very nice and classy looking. Great spot to bring a date or meet for a drink with co-workers. They have plenty of seating and when it's nice out they have outdoor seating. The service here can be hit or miss. I was here a few years ago and sat outside with some friends ( 3 of us to be exact) The service was fine no complaints. Came here again with another two friends for a drink service was a bit slow. I was just here a few days ago as I really wanted chocolate ice cream and the ice cream shop I wanted to try out was closed. I was taking this to go. I must of waited like 15 min for one scoop of ice cream with little bit of rainbow sprinkles on the side. And it was not even that busy at all. Not to mention for this one small scoop it was like $5.60 (figures hotel restaurant prices!) I would come again for a drink but don't think I would stay for food.

The food was decent! The tuna tartare had too much avocado. There weren't enough plantains. Cocktails were good but not consistent. I was very disappointed in the staff. They acted like serving us was an inconvenience. We made a reservation (you need one to get in) and they still made us wait. Our server was very slow and didn't provide any recommendations for drink or dinner. We ordered a charcuterie board, it was delivered to the wrong table 2x. The server spilled my drink all over my purse, sweater and dinner. Never brought me another drink. Our server also didn't have manners. He was not polite and would hand us our food/drinks instead of placing them on the table. He never removed empty plates. The tables were very small and everything we ordered was crammed. The place was very busy and loud. The bar was packed. This place gives off speak easy vibes.

The cocktail menu was extensive and the drinks were great, but our outdoor server never returned to us after delivering our first drinks. We moved inside and had better service in the high top area of the bar. The patio was a more scenic and vibrant seating area but the missing server kind of killed the vibe. Would still recommend for the drinks and views. 8/10

The struggle to find a bar open on a Monday in DC is real. So we ended up at Doyle last minute to celebrate my friend's birthday. So last minute we literally made reservations as we were driving to DC. The outside is decorated so beautifully with florals and a mural. Unfortunately, the patio was closed, and it was rather muggy that day anyways so we got a table inside. We got seated at a small table, but the birthday girl wanted the sofa/couch booth area. Our waiter, Betty, was the sweetest and let her choose whichever table she wanted. (Honestly this review might just be about our waiter because the service she provided us, was over the top) We sat down and took a while to order our drinks! They gave us complimentary nuts and almonds; definitely was not expected. I don't remember the name of our drinks, but they were pretty delicious. Since our waiter knew it was my friend's birthday, she brought out a complimentary crème brûlée. I didn't request it or anything. The sweet sweet lady decided to give us the dessert on her own. It was truly so delicious and 'happy birthday' in chocolate was adorable. What we expected to be a lame night since everything was closed, turned out to be exception because of our server!

This place is what i think of when I imagine a hotel cocktail bar. Helpful staff, relaxed upscale vibe, and yummy bites with AMAZING cocktails. If you're in the city and just want a quiet spot to chill with friends but want delicious, classic cocktails...this is the spot! The avocado BLT is huge and comes with fries but it was delicious. And the chicken lollipops were not too spicy and had just the right amount of sauce. Service was excellent! We really enjoyed ourselves here.

First of all, I'd like to thank Jordan for his warm hospitality. He was kind, friendly, and helpful. I love the DuPont Circle Hotel, so having the Doyle right downstairs is a real treat. I enjoyed eating at the bar solo and chatting with some of the others around me who were also enjoying themselves. The entire venue is bustling and full of life which makes you feel like you are somewhere cool. I had a Hendricks Martini craftily made by Jordan. He offered me an array of bar snacks and I happily accepted. After a few sips, feeling the stress of train travel melt away, I ordered the crispy tuna rice. It was a perfect light dinner full of Asian flavors and complimentary textures . I enjoyed it very much. I will always visit the Doyle when I'm in town.

The space is gorgeous; I love all the plants, and the light brown, light blue, and white color combination for their furniture makes the space look classy and modern. The light brown leather couches are comfortable, and I love the way they circle around the tables to create a natural, cozy booth. Our food was just as beautiful as the space. The Restaurant Week menu comes with an appetizer, main, and dessert. Given how indecisive I can be (and how expansive the normal menu is), I was grateful to have my choices narrowed down a bit. I started off my meal with the octopus. The octopus was remarkably tender and not overly chewy, and had a delightful char that gave it a slightly smoky flavor. They double downed on the smokiness with their burnt chili oil, which, alongside the lemon and salsa verde, gave the dish a wonderfully balanced smoky, savory, and slightly acidic flavor. The crushed potatoes had a lovely crispy shell on the outside and served as a great base for the tender octopus. The main course was probably the easiest choice of the evening -- I'm absolutely obsessed with branzino, so the second I saw it on the Restaurant Week menu, I knew that was what I had to get. The fish is beautifully broiled, with a nice, crispy skin and super tender, flaky flesh. It's topped with a few pieces of roasted garlic and a wedge of lemon. The fresh lemon juice, as well as the lovely side salad, offered a great pop of freshness to bring the whole dish together. And finally, for our dessert, I chose the chocolate torta. This wonderful dessert is remarkably rich and decadent, with a strong dark chocolate flavor. It's topped with a lovely marsala date sauce and scoop of sheep's yogurt ice cream, but still doesn't feel overly sweet. The sheep's yogurt in the ice cream offers a bit of tanginess, and I loved the addition of the candied walnuts for a bit of crunch.

A few people kept asking if we were going to Proper on F St or Proper on K St, both sports bars, and up until the day of I thought maybe they were affiliated. That was far from the truth... and honestly, once you walk in, you'll get why Drinks & Food I wasn't planning to drink since I haven't really been drinking lately, but I decided to go for a tequila espresso martini, and I'm glad I did. It was smooth, balanced, and honestly just really good. My friend ordered a Paper Plane, which she loved. For bites, we shared the chicken nuggets with caviar (yes, nuggets and caviar... and yes, they were delicious) and the lemon garlic shrimp, which was flavorful and perfectly cooked. Everything we ordered hit the mark. Prices are about what you'd expect for K Street and the overall vibe. Think $20-$25 cocktails, $20+ appetizers, and $35+ entrees. Portions, both drinks and food, lean on the smaller side, which is probably the only thing that might make you pause and wonder if it's slightly overpriced. ‍ Service Service was great. Our server checked on us regularly without hovering and offered helpful suggestions when we asked. Everything came out timely, and we felt taken care of throughout the night. Ambiance This is where Proper really shines. I walked into a cute, ground-level, dimly lit lounge with an opulent bar and a man playing the piano, which set the tone for the whole evening It felt upscale but still welcoming. Perfect for a romantic date night or a girls' night with your closest friends when you want to feel a little fancy. Overall The food, drinks, and vibes were so good that I completely forgot to take pictures, which almost never happens That alone says a lot. Proper Bar is a spot I'd return to when I'm in the mood for good cocktails, a stylish atmosphere, and a polished night out.
