I have to make some changes to my review. First, the labor service that MVP does is very good, they will come to your house and install everything. Their prices are good for the labor of work that they do including going in crawl spaces. Pat and Jason run the team very well and give direct orders to each individual with a professional tone. That is where the good stops, the rest of the service is mediocre to poor at best. The worst part is their supplier who supplies them with the A/V Receivers, Speakers and other parts. In the last year, I had two A/V Receivers die on me one from Sony and the other from Yamaha. The one from Sony was a weird one due to a rolling blackout (thanks, SDG&E). The second one which is by Yamaha died out on me from doing nothing but turning it on. In both situations, the HDMI board looks to be the issue. The problem with the supplier is I feel that the supplier is sending equipment to Pat and Jason as refurbished and selling it as new. I've been doing audio equipment for well over 15 years and I never had issues with Yamaha before, its why I went back to them. Within one month it died on me, as it can't find any speakers. But the reality is the HDMI board can't detect HDMI Audio Signals, it's fine with video. The other problem with the supplier is the warranty (or lack of one) as the supplier gives you the manufacturer warranty which is 30 days. Pat and his team should offer some sort of warranty if they are going to buy the product from a faulty supplier. My issue thanks to the supplier is now I'm losing money, I have now lost money on two A/V Receivers, and I have to purchase a new one. Though trust me I won't purchase the receiver from Pat, I would rather go down to Best Buy or Fry's and buy it at least if something happens I have a warranty. --------------- Update: I spoke with Pat and I also contacted his distro as well. Neither one wants to take ownership of the issues. I have requested Pat to show up today to fix it, he refuses. Pat will not refund or service the parts and second, his distro will not assist either. To be clear, Pat's company will only do installs and not support. He says he cares about the customers but he does not clear as he is not willing to assist. Also, Pat does have an ego so watch out future clients. Pat has also insulted my wife because she is a housewife. Go buy your units at Best Buy, Frys, or another place that offers a warranty when a product dies. Buying from Pat if your unit dies your screwed and Pat won't help. I have asked Pat for a refund on multiple occasions, he will not offer it. And to do a replacement is "When he is free" yet he tells clients that he can support more clients and have a bigger workload. Also, one big negative claim with MVP is their cleanliness of wires. Not true. I have pictures that show how MVP does not clean up their wire installs like they promote. Also if you look at the price, GeekSquad is cheaper ($130) to do an install of an audio system and you get a warranty for 90 days on the install and if you purchase a warranty through Best Buy if something breaks. I wish MVP offered this! To finalize, MVP does do good work but the issues that they have are that their ownership has no idea how to lead a team, as he is not willing to go above and beyond to retain clients, he also puts new clients ahead of others as he forgot to install my Yamaha receiver three times. Pat is about the money, and not about the quality of service. Finally, their distro Volutone is not a good supplier, they offer no warranties on any product, and it is up to MVP to provide any kind of warranty which there isn't any. If there is a massive issue they except you go to the manufacturer but the issue is the manufacturer does not look at them as credible. Do yourself a favor, stay away from purchasing anything from MVP. Go to the store, research online, and purchase everything first then have Pat and his team install it. That is the one thing they are good at, a bit higher price than GeekSquad. One good thing is even if they never have installed something they can figure it out. But asking for support from MVP or a refund from them, you won't get one. Sucks because I lost over $1000 thanks to MVP's distro. At the end of the day Pat finally agreed to do a swap but it was too late because of all the back and forth he did and shaming me I was forced to elsewhere and have someone else do my next install. When Pat learns how to lead, and also to do Q/C on his products that he SELLS to clients then it might be a good idea to go back. I know that will never happen. read more

MVP (Pat and the crew) service review. I had just moved into my new place and I called up Pat (great reviews on yelp) to install an audio system in my living room. He came by within a couple of days to give me a FREE estimate/consultation. He came by and based on my wants provided his knowledgeable advice on what would be best. He suggested a 5.1 surround sound, 3 front speakers, 2 back - see pics ). While we were talking I told him how I wanted security cameras and he suggested the ones that he has had success with and how he could install the cameras up to my tv all in ONE day. I thought that would be cool, so I ordered the cameras from Costco and we scheduled our install day. We scheduled on Halloween to install everything. My house was pretty hard to work with, due to the fact that it had a slanted ceiling and the previous owners had blocked off the attic so MVP had to create a new attic to even start working on any kind of wiring. They came early morning on Halloween and worked until completed. We had some hiccups due to my house being very difficult to work with. However everything got taken care of and I was very happy. Now since my attic space was so TINY and my ceiling was slanted the only option I had was to setup wires alongside the house (see pics). Upon completion, since I had wiring throughout the side of my inside living room, he suggested to get crown moulding done to cover up the wires (This was already agreed upon before installation) 2 days before crown moulding guy came to cover up the wires I decided I wanted 1 more rear speaker (being greedy) I told Pat my situation and even though he was busy he still FIT me in to get my last speaker installed 1 day before crown moulding guy. He could have refused or said he couldn't help me, yet he went out of his way to fit me in and complete my request That is great customer service! PROS: - Honest and very knowledgeable about speakers and installation setup - Accomplished everything that was promised in a timely manner - Made sure I was 100% satisfied with everything before leaving and even followed up with me days later to see if I was happy. They were absolutely fantastic!!! They crawled up in my attic to run the wiring for the speakers, installed Earthquake speakers in the ceiling, set up the sub-woofer, mounted the TV, connected all the components and then balanced the sound.
