As somebody who is local, I've drove by the shop hundreds of times as a kid but just recently got back into collecting baseball cards. Had a couple Ohtani MVP buybacks and saw that this shop was one of the only ones in the area who will exchange them for credit, so finally had a reason to come in. Ray is the man. He is extremely knowledgeable and will answer any questions you have with a smile on his face. I've seen other people on here complaining about the prices that he charges, which are a little bit marked up, but to his defense, he is a small business owner and has to pay the bills. The markup isn't anything crazy like somebody on here claimed, very fair prices plus you don't have to pay for shipping and can get it same day. Thank you, Ray. Small bit of background from me- Just moved to the area and didn't really have a go to shop for cards, checked online and saw this place. I play MTG and collect Pokémon cards. Review wise this is a collection of purchases I've made from this shop. Asked for an Innistrad box for MTG. Ray mentioned he didn't have any, so I picked up a few packs instead. He saw what I was buying and corrected himself saying he had a box. It was for the new set Midnight Hunt. Honestly my bad though since there was an older Innistrad set, and I hadn't played/knew of that set. But he had the box, and that was what I wanted. I even asked about the next set coming out: Crimson Vow. 5/5 experience. Probably my 3rd or 4th time coming in and it looks like Ray remembers what my girlfriend and I are looking for. An Evolving Skies Booster Box. He mentions he doesn't have it in yet, and that it would be coming in later that week. We come back when he said he'd have it in stock. We buy 2 boosters. a little overpriced hence the 4 star, but I get it Pokémon is hype right now. 4/5 experience. Now something I won't dock points for is what I believe is out of his control. Could be distributor or something else. However, both booster boxes we got from this shop were sealed. Even had the Pokémon seal on it. We opened the box, and only found green code cards, and code cards not native to Evolving Skies. Photos Attached. More likely going to still shop here for MTG her as I don't think it was overly priced for booster packs and boxes for Magic. I love pulling cards and usually don't buy more than 1 - 2 Booster Boxes per set. Pokémon wise however, I'll stick to the Pokémon Center or other trusted sources. I do not get the 5 star reviews but I assume it's people who don't know any better. They just see a bunch of cards and think wow. This guy overcharges for EVERYTHING. I can't believe the prices he's trying to get for hobby boxes. Go in there and look it up - check ebay and look at what he's trying to get. Talk about mark up. And he sells old 1990s junk wax singles that are worth a penny for 3 or 4 dollars. Huh? Saw a 1990 Dave Stewart he wanted $3.25 for. Dave Stewart isn't even a HOFer let alone worth anything. His literal rookie card isn't worth 3 bucks let alone a junk wax card from the 1990s. He's got tons of this stuff. You can go to any card show and buy a full, factory sealed 1990 Donruss SET for 5 bucks. And this guy is selling completely worthless singles for 3 and 4 bucks a piece to unsuspecting people who don't know any better. A card store owner is supposed to support collectors and help them, not try to rip them off. I also saw his video where he was complaining about the Target shelves being empty of hobby boxes. Why would he care? He owns a store that sells cards. You know why? Because he's one of those guys who goes and buys up all the cards at Target and then sells them for a mark up in his store. This is as sleazy as it gets. They're already pretty expensive at Target but this guy is essentially stealing cards from kids. This guy is the worst of the worst. There are a lot of sleazy card store owners and it's sad and this guy takes the cake. There are also a few good ones, Card Attic and Vallejo and Talking Sports in Danville. If you want great places online to buy cards WAY WAY cheaper than this rip off artist, go to Queen City Cards, Giant Cards or DACA. Check those out and then look again at what this guy charges. I think it was the owner that was at the cash register when I showed up for some specific cards. I am very much an introvert but also a hesitant female when it comes to card stores. Lucky for me, everyone here was super supportive and helpful to get me to my collection needs! This store gets five stars for being informative, friendly and knowledgeable of baseball card collections. Not only was i told they did not have what I was looking for, I was also told about other places to go to find some cards. I really appreciate other card collectors and their respect of other people just trying to complete their sets! Another awesome thing about this place is that their baseball card hobby box prices are on par with eBay. I can't think of another card shop that I could say the same thing about. Seriously, I would drive the 40 miles one way to buy a box of heritage hobby cards from this guy and purchase locally from a nice person! read more

This store has SO many cards! All different types--basketball, baseball, Pokemon cards, and probably even more than that. He has different sized packs of the cards and will even point out the best deals for the card packages. Friendly shop to visit. Came across this shop when I was looking for some marvel cards. This place is nestled into a shopping center. The store is fairly compact, but is filled to the brim with a wide range of goods from sports cards, Pokemon, and non-sports trading cards. Nice little shop. Good selection of cards for those who are starting and those that collect Hobby Edition cards. His prices are fair. This is a business and they have to make money too. I don't like buying boxes online because I just never seem to hit. I've lived all over the country/world and prefer to go into the store in person. Atmosphere is friendly and informative. I was glad to find this shop. I can now start selling off some of what I have and get some new stuff. My 8 year old loves Pokémon cards, but it's been hard to find them in the area - especially for kid just starting a collection. We tried the usual places - Target had a limit on how many you could buy, but it didn't matter because during several, separate visits they were completely sold out. One time they had more expensive, large tins, but we didn't know if they'd have what he was looking for. At MVP they had a wide variety of packs, boxes, tins from several different releases - and the owner was able to answer my son's questions! Highly recommend! read more

3 Stars For Me, 4 Stars For My Son Gayle, my son and I were having a nice Chinese lunch at Green Garden. As he sometimes does, my son got bored and asked to go outside. That's fine as this is a safe neighbourhood. Leave it to my son to find a card shop within this strip mall. And he was back in minutes asking for some card set that I had previously never heard of before (Chaotic). Personally, I would be very pleased if he never asked to buy a card again. Card shops are also not my thing. But it is his allowance money and at least these type of card games (including Yu-Gi-Oh) challenge him, as they really represent a giant and complex math problem. Anyway, MVP Sports cards is what you would expect. It's a relatively small space stuffed with various collectibles and staffed by folks who are really into what they're selling. They also apparently have an active ebay business under MVPray. My son has already asked to come back and continues to do so...:) read more

Called the shop on a Saturday afternoon to inquire about the latest Pokemon cards. The owner answered and assured me he had the ones I was looking for. I walked in about an hour later and asked them where they were. He pointed them out and said he had more behind the counter that were still boxed up in case I wanted to go with those instead. I found the ones I wanted. I asked him what were the best sleeves to go with and he politely showed me and gave me his input. Overall, a very pleasant experience. read more

I like the baseball Diamond Kings because they have Hall of Famers from the past like Honus Wagner, Ty Cobb, Mickey Mantle and of course Babe Ruth. Hats off to Ray for bringing the new releases from Upper Deck, Panini, Topps, ITG, etc. Also, very excellent Sharks & Warriors Commemorative regalia + McFarlane figures too. I can satisfy my urge to rip a few new packs just down the street and there is big tv so I can always watch the game. Haven't been in a card shop in quite some time since many have closed but really appreciate the fact this store is still open. However, I will buy some packs of Topps Heritage or Archives from time to time and his prices are through the roof- $4 (+ tax) per pack!
