You can either call the front desk to have ice brought to your room or I just asked for a cup of ice from the cafe or bar once in a while. The best part is the location. You can take long walks around the lake but you can also walk to grab things from Whole Foods or visit multiple good restaurants... all within a 5 min walk. Even the mall is just across the main road (although it's better just to drive across) If you don't want to walk there's an entire restaurant in the hotel, along with the cafe and the bar. I was really surprised by the quality of the breakfast. Even the continental, which is typically used at other hotels to say "this is basic and not very good", was delicious. I tried the avocado toast as well and that was equally good. This was one of my better Marriott stays. I will definitely be booking again.

They do have a few snacks and bites for purchase beside the front desk as well and I did see a pool. One of the fixtures for the pole in the shower was lose; shower pressure is TERRIBLE; shower temperature was TBD each time; inside the toilet looked stained/scratched and rusted; cobwebs in one corner over the night table; a resident silverfish in one of the painting mats; should probably try entry doors that go to the floor and not let all the hallway light in when the room is dark; and the toilet made some weird sing-song sound every time it flushed. THE WALLS ARE PAPER THIN! (can't warn future patrons of that enough) Went from practically an adult film on one side of us, to what sounded like a kids party on the opposite side the next night!! Every conversation had in the hall sounds like it's in your room. Lose power outlets almost made me late to work...phones was completely dead because the charger had fallen out. The bed was as comfortable as the lobby was beautiful but those are the only two notable reasons to stay there again if that's what you're interested in. After a struggle with the front desk (5x trying to resolve, told there were no clean rooms). Eventually, I was relocated to another room, which was just as dirty and lacked proper AC. Cleanliness and maintenance were sorely lacking. Disappointing experience overall. Update to response on June 4th: it's been over the promised 48-hours to contact. No one has reached out any options other than to stay in dirty rooms and let them take your money without any remedy. Recent updates from 3rd room (within 24 hours of checking in): also dirty, sheets were used and not replaced as requested. Ultimately, I had to request sheets from the front desk and make my own bed. Individuals (presumably homeless sleeping in the laundry room (see video). Additional insects were found in the room and throughout the hotel. Also, equipment and furnishings that are broken or not repaired. Lamps in the room without lightbulbs. The final straw was finding a person (presumed to be on drugs or homeless) sleeping on the table in the laundry room. This hotel is neither clear nor safe. Honestly, it's ripe for crime and health complaints.

This hotel, at the SpringHill Suites (Columbia, Maryland), was very nice during my entire stay. It met all my needs, with only two minor annoyances. These included: * All exterior doors to this hotel were non-functional for entry with a key-card during my entire time here. In other words, one could not enter from either side door or from the back; one could ONLY enter through the lobby. I'm not sure why the other doors were not working. * Unlike other SpringHill Suites locations I have stayed at, this particular hotel removes their free coffee from the lobby sometime after breakfast hours are over. This is annoying for guests (like myself) who like to have coffee in the afternoon or evening. In addition to the nice things I expect from all SpringHill Suites locations, the most pleasant part of my stay at this hotel was interacting with the staff here, especially Ahmed. He was incredibly friendly and professional, and I enjoyed chatting with him. He's definitely a five-star employee for this business! So, in summary, aside from two minor annoyances, I had a flawless experience here at this SpringHill Suites hotel. Breakfast is decent, and the free bottled water helps for the hot MD summers. They have a free shuttle that drops and picks up from MPP - a huge plus. The worker in the breakfast area was often gone or in the back room with the door closed. We had a group of family staying with us and everyone had issues no matter the time of the morning we ate. The carpet in our rooms were heavily stained. The shower curtain rod bent in several of our rooms and water went on the floor as a result. Toilet paper holders were broken. Each of us got a parking fee for each night we stayed, even though some of us car pooled. It was an automatic room charge. None of us were asked to report our car info and license plate.

The room was fine, good bed, decent sheets and towels, and plenty of channels to flip through. I wish it was a little closer to food, as there's only one restaurant in walking distance and it was a very pricey Greek spot. But you can order in from the nearby strip mall, or stop in and grab a pizza or fast food, which I did one night. Parking is limited around front, so you'll have to park in back if you don't nab one of the front lot spots. It made walking out there a little longer, but the lot is big, free, and has room for larger vehicles or even trucks and trailers if you're needing more space.
