I work in the field as a Regional Manager, I enjoy sandwiches still and I try out different spots often to see what the "competition" is like. Board and Brew is definitely top notch! I was deciding on where to snag lunch on my way to another store doing my rounds and I really wanted a sandwich. I decided to get the Turkado, some dirty Maui chips and drink. The total came to $17 and some change, not bad about the avg for the area and any lunch. The service was great, the woman who helped me was nice, and efficient, she helped me select what chips to get. Not much bantering but I do enough of that at work, so all good here. The store was clean, nice vibe, music. My order was ready in the time it took me to fill my soda cup and sit down to scroll 1 scroll thru outlook emails. Maybe 5-7 mins the woman who gave me my order asked if I wanted some secret sauce on the side, and put it in the bag. The bag felt heavy! The sub was huge! Probably 8inches bread was nice and springy, there was enough lettuce, tomato and sauces on it. I love the sunflower seeds, gives it a nice little crunch. This was my first visit. I normally steer clear of restaurants that have only one vegetarian sandwich, but made an exception in this case. And I'm glad I did. Even though it was pretty busy (lunch hour), the food came quickly and the restaurant was clean. I had the Veggie Supreme. It was stuffed and really tasty. This place is really 3.5, but I went higher because the overall taste experience was pretty good. When I arrived, they were moderately busy. I ordered a Baja Beef and Beef Dip to go. It took close to 10 minutes to get the sandwiches which was enough time that I went back to the counter to check. The cashier was relatively disinterested and asked the kitchen, which produced some flurry of internal responses and a polite wave back my direction. My sandwich came up about 2 minutes later. The flavor of the sandwiches was pretty good- tasty even. Meat density on them was a bit of a letdown, but it wasn't as sparse as I've seen at other places recently, so I'll give them the doubt. After watching the other tables order pitchers of beer, I was somewhat disappointed to have a to-go order. I'm a BIG fan of Board & Brew, but live up in LA so don't get to get their food as often as I would like (they have additional locations in the San Diego area). I get the Turkado sandwich with no cheese and you MUST get their special sauce. They usually only give you one unless you ask for more and I recommend 2-3 per sandwich depending on your sauce to sandwich ratio preference. I am a vendor at the OC Fair and came to this one to cool down with a cold beer and have lunch I was surprised how hot it was in here last week. I ended taking my meal to go and didn't grab that beer. Today I came back thinking it was a one off and maybe the AC was down and same thing! It's so hot outside you would think they have the AC at a comfortable setting to drink and enjoy yourself. I had one beer and left It was uncomfortably hot and stuffy. If you are looking for a legit sandwich look no further. I've been to this location a couple of times. Each visit was equally delicious. The Chicken Ceasar salad with added bacon is absolutely delicious. They definitely don't hold back on the toppings. The chicken club is also one of my favorites. Lastly, the vegetarian sandwich on that sweet honey wheat/sqaw type bread dipped into their house sauce is top notch. Just remember everything is better with bacon. Service was fast and friendly. I have been wanting to try Board & Brew for so long after it's been recommended to me by so many different people. Sadly, I was unimpressed by the food. I ordered the Baja Wrap with no tomatoes. The wrap was stuffed with a generous portion of juicy, tasty chicken. The lettuce was a little wilted and didn't have that crispy crunch to it. The wrap began falling apart the moment I picked it up and even more so as I dug into it, which resulted in an unusually messy meal. The fillings were disproportional, with half the wrap having all the onions and the other half having all the jalapeños. The Special Sauce was bland and really did not have anything special about it - I preferred the wrap without the sauce at all. I want to try the sandwiches and beers, so I do think I will be back. I wasn't familiar with this place, but I guess there are multiple locations around Southern California. My family and I ordered on their website and hubs went in to pick it up so I didn't get a chance to go inside and experience their service. Our order was packed up and ready to go in a timely manner (then again, it was around 4:30pm-ish on a Wednesday so it was pretty empty). We ordered the chicken club ($11.95), beef dip ($11.95), Baja beef ($14.95), roast beef spicy ($12.50), and a couple of potato salads ($3.00ea). Sooo, I underestimated the spiciness of the jalapeño peppers...they had a lot more kick than expected so I was panting (mind you that hubs had no problem so it really depends on a person's tolerance level). With that being said, my Baja beef sandwich was yummy. The bread was soft, and the beef, onions, peppers, and cheese were pretty much filled from one end to the other. Mine didn't come with au jus, but my kid didn't use hers so I did and ended up drinking it like soup. I didn't even need the secret sauce. Everyone like their sandwich as well. Okay, WOW. I don't typically crave sandwiches but these sandwiches were YUMMMYYY. I tried the California Delight and the Left Coast Pastrami. Omg delicious!! The California Delight is Turkey Breast, Cream Cheese, Roasted Unsalted Sunflower Seeds on Sweet Wheat Bread. Includes Mayo, Tomato, Lettuce & Sprouts. Nothing crazy right? WRONG. This sandwich was PERFECTION! It was flavorful but still felt light. It wasn't dry and it had fantastic texture. The sprouts are SO CRUNCHY! I've never had sprouts on a sandwich before but the crunch they add is unprecedented. A truly delicious creation. The Left Coast Pastrami is Hot Pastrami with Grilled Onions, Dijon Mustard, Pepperoncini Peppers & Melted Swiss Cheese on a toasted French Baguette. I love pastrami and this was good pastrami! Loved the combo of the peppers and mustard. The sandwich is a little heavy and was a little bit salty for me. But I added the Secret Sauce it came with (which was creamy and on the sweeter side) and it balanced everything right out! SO GOOD. Went to visit daughter my at her college and decided to give Board & Brew a try for lunch. What a great place! The restaurant had a cute vibe and was very clean. Even the restroom was tidy during lunch-rush. For my lunch I had the Turkeycado and my daughter had the Turkey Club. Both sandwiches were fresh and delicious! I really liked the addition of the "special sauce" on the side. It added a little extra zip to the sandwich. The bread was pillowy soft and packed full with turkey, cheese, lettuce, tomato and the avocado spread. I omitted the onions. My daughter's sandwich was made on a roll and again full with turkey, bacon, cheese, tomato and lettuce. I wish I had taken pictures but ‍ I forgot, sorry! You'll just have to take my word for it! I am an office manager and often need to cater in food and I have ordered the catering boxes from B&B and they have been a hit every single time. 1 box can feed around 14-16 people. Parking everywhere due to being a big shopping center. I like the unique small things of it like the tires of a skateboard in the restroom and boards everywhere hence the name. The menu is straight up and the employees all smiles and polite. So for them.
