There are only two spots In the Loudoun County area where you can find amazing Thai Food. And one of them is Thaitan. Everytime I've come here the staff have always greeted me well and taken great care of me. The inside is medium sized and the bathroom is most especially clean. This is one of the best places to get Thai food, believe me. Give this place a try, you will be amazed!

Place was busy for a Friday night! Seems like a popular local spot for both dining in and takeout. The highlight of our meal was their Crispy Duck Noodle Soup - the broth was sweet and rich, we got as less spicy, but it still had a bit of a kick, and complimented the crispy duck pieces nicely. The Duck Ka-Pow was okay, also got it as less spicy but the duck was surprisingly a bit dry. I would definitely come back again for their Crispy Duck Noodle Soup and Thai Tea, or try a classic curry dish!

FOOD/DRINK: 4/5 SERVICE: 4/5 EXPERIENCE: 4/5 This is a cute little spot! We had to wait a little bit to be noticed and seated, but I think this restaurant runs on a small crew. It did take a while to order since the waiter was busy with another customer (he was upfront about that). I got a seasonal drink. I don't remember the name but it was thai black tea, apple cider, and ginger beer. It was very good. My husband got a coke. For food, we ordered the vegetable rolls for an app. I ordered the chicken cashew (under "stir fry"), while my husband ordered the crispy duck basil (under "thaitan highlight"). FOOD: -vegetable rolls - these were delightfully crispy and the dipping sauce was balanced -chicken cashew - the cashews were buttery and the chicken was moist. it was a bit spicy. the rice was a little dry -crispy duck basil - the duck was delicious and addictive, but spicy. both entrees were a bit above our spice level but the flavor was really great. we had to wait a while for our check and the waiter only checked on us when we were almost done. this place is close to our house, but unfortunately, there are better places than this. that's not a knock on them, there's just a lot of competition in the area. we would return and ask for less spice.

Everything was good and the seasonal decorations made the store very festive. I recommend getting the crispy soft shell crab & lychee soda. I would definitely go back to get those and try other things on the menu.

When my friend asked me what kind of cooking to expect here, the first word that came to mind was homey. In a very good way. Dining at Thaitan is like being invited into a Thai family home and having this family's treasured recipes. Indeed, the co-owner told me that her signature green curry dish is very popular with guests after I told her how much I loved Thaitan's version. I also love their boat noodle soup, which has many rich flavors and doesn't skimp on meat either! Thaitan's boat noodle soup has the perfect balance of sweet and salty. Sometimes, I feel kind of done with noodle soups by the end because they're way too salty, though satisfying for, maybe, the first half. Thaitan's boat noodle soup has me wanting to drain the bowl, and I would have if I hadn't also shared the appetizer sampler platter with my friend. Service is friendly and helpful. I appreciated how they offered suggestions on how to customize dishes and get the best of the flavors (e.g., choice of beef or pork for boat noodle soup). The restaurant offers a cozy atmosphere. It's a relaxing and conveniently located spot (right off the Greenway and close to the Ashburn Metro Station) to enjoy flavorful Thai dishes, obviously prepared with pride, care, and attention to detail.

I ate here on New Year's Day not expecting much, and wow was I blown away. The service was hands down the best I have experienced. The owner came around and made conversation with us even though he was busy. He asked us to critique the food, and by the way, we had none. This is the best Thai food in the area and I highly recommend trying some of their authentic dishes! We had the papaya salad, Thai tea, pink milk, Tom Kha, Kaosoi, and chu chee tilapia. It was the best tha food I have had, highly recommend!

The service was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The food was delicious, although I will probably ask for less spice next visit when ordering their drunken noodles. A delightful find to enjoy lunch with a friend.

I would say that Sense of Thai St. has become a neighborhood staple and stands strong among the other great Thai places in the area. Definitely has improved and remained steady over the years. The service is always top-notch, and the bar with limited kitchen options stays open late as one of the only late-night options in that immediate area, which is nice after a big gym session in the evenings. I still think the prices are a little hard to swallow for the portion sizes in terms of how much actual protein you get with any one dish. But it's undeniable how perfectly balanced the flavors and spices are, and the menu is always evolving with a very wide range of Asian fusion and traditional Thai dishes. I have a TOUGH time figuring out what to order because every creation sounds so amazing! I recently got the beef noodle Thai ramen with the five-spice egg added (see photo), and it was really good. The five-spice egg is a must try, bursting with a rainbow of flavors and accenting any dish.

A good starter. Liked most of the appetizer except for the wings. They are a bit too sweet for me. For entrees, we got a whole fried fish. The branzino was a good size and perfectly fried. We were trying to find pictures of Siam chicken and unable to find any. It is more like orange chicken to be honest. It was decent. Final dish was chicken pad Thai and that was good. Their pad Thai is always delicious. Overall the food was good but the service was spotty. Had to ask for water refill even though the waiter walked by and can see the almost empty glasses. We were there later in the evening so it was not really busy.

We normally call our order in, but decided to try the online ordering system since we were out and it was noisy. Once we got to the website, we saw some coupons had popped up but it wouldn't allow us to apply to the order. We thought the coupons might've been a mistake, but we decided to bring it in to the store to show them and ask if they were valid. And if not, we were prepared to order regardless and just wanted to make sure the restaurant knew these were showing up on their website. The man behind the counter met him with such an incredibly bad attitude and was angry at my husband for even showing it to him. He basically accused my husband of forging these coupons or finding them somewhere else- when they are posted right on their website. His attitude was so incredibly off putting that we decided to get lunch elsewhere today. Maybe he was having a bad day, who knows. But all my husband did was go in to ask the question and tried to make the restaurant aware that it was on their own website. Unsure if we will be back here, there are so many Thai food options around.

I'm not a vegetarian and absolutely LOVE the spicy eggplant dish! Pad Thai is really pretty good too - not my #1 favorite, but in the top 5 in the area. If you get the shrimp option, they are large. I like that you can add extra proteins to the pad thai (and other dishes). The tom kha soup was awesome and the amount of chicken is plentiful. I really enjoy adding a bit of rice to it and it was great as a leftover the next day. I'd also recommend the drunken noodles.
