Check out the size of this chicken and waffles! It's absolutely massive!! I really enjoyed the tenderness of the chicken itself offset by it's crunchy outside. The fresh fruit and caramel on the waffles was different than other chicken waffles I've had, but I really liked it! Continuing my recent binge of eating at breakfast/brunch/lunch restaurants followed by geocaching, I decided to eat here at one of the original My Island Pancack House locations in Rockledge. It was the perfect location for my at-the-time adventure as the McKnight Family Sports Complex and Lake Betsi are just mere minutes away. Meeting up with my friend Charles (a.k.a. Roadie X in geocaching), we had our fill before hitting the trail. I have to say, this place delivered on the food. The Rockledge location for My Island Pancake House is located on the southside of Barton Blvd. quite near to US-1 too. The building is not hard to miss as it is its own building and it looks like time has forgotten to age it. Imagine the old school IHOP buildings and you'll get My Island Pancake House. The interior is clean and roomy but once again, time forgot this place. We got a booth and ordered our food. I got the Elvis pancakes and hot chocolate, Charles got the fish and chips basket. Once our food arrived, we all agreed the food was very good. Charles, of course, had to find some minute problem which is part of his personality. He said the fish was "slightly undercooked." I looked at it and he was nitpicking. My pancackes, however, were delicious. If there is to be an issue with them, I would say ratio of toppings to the pancackes themselves. The pancackes are huge like they were circled out of a full sheet of cake. You get two of them and the toppings don't cover it all. Hot chocolate was on the lighter side of flavor but maybe that is the reason because refills ARE FREE! Overall, a solid experience at My Island Pancake House. The price of food is in between $10 and $20 on average and the bathrooms were quite clean too. This is hands down our favorite breakfast/brunch spot. We bring all our visitors here and tell everyone it's the place to go for amazing service and delicious food. We have came here more than 15 times and it has always been consistently 11/10 stars. Just all around an excellent experience each time. Their prices are very reasonable...especially considering their handsome portions. Even my big brother that has a healthy appetite couldn't finish his food. You will try your darnedest though because it's that delicious. They have the best variety of pancakes (hence the name) but I'm more of a savory person and grateful they have something for everyone. I usually get the corn beef, country fried steak, biscuits and gravy or the salad bar. Not many places have salad bars and theirs is always fresh with a nice selection. My son always gets the Mickey Mouse pancakes and finishes the huge portion. My husband has dabbled with a few top contenders but the Philly is the best he's had. I'm not sure how they manage to offer stellar service with a full house every single time. They have very small wait times to be seated. Food is exceptionally fast. They are busy but they sure do make you feel otherwise and leave us stunned every time. My son will always ring the bell when we leave cause they rock. I came in on November 21st and it was so hot in the store I walked out, so being hopeful that the issue was going to be fix I came back the next day. It was still hot. The food was a bit pricey, but the waffle I had was amazing! I think for the price it should at least come with a side of your choice, but you add those on for $4-8 extra depending on what you want. Our server was engaging at first, but forgot our sides so we waited another 10ish minutes for those to be delivered, and we weren't checked on again until it came time for a check. They were really busy though (we came on a Friday morning). Five stars is not enough for My Island Pancake House. From the warm greeting to the extremely clean establishment this place does not miss a mark. One may be tempted to order too much for everything was and is amazing. First one journeyed to the banana foster pancakes to which were oversized deliciousness. If the banana foster pancakes were not enough of an adventure the excitement continued with the Elvis loaded with ooiey gooey bananas and decadent peanut butter sauce. Then our next ride was on the cinnamon roll French toast glazed just right with frosting and sauce. The final roller coaster was the Benedict Florentine cooked perfectly to explode with flavor. Not only was the food great but the staff was very accommodating and interactive with our toddler. I tried the pancake house for the first time today and was not impressed. I had a simple 2 egg, toast, potatoes and 2 slices of bacon breakfast. The potatoes were gray and did not look pleasing to eat. I tasted a small piece anyway to see if they tasted better than they looked but they were just not good and they were Lukewarm. My toast was barely warm and tasted dried out and old. What confused me was the I think butter (not sure) that was shiny on the bread. I thought maybe it was a flavored butter because of the shine but no they were not flavored and i still am trying to figure out if it was even butter. Something i have never seen before. It was mentioned to the server when she asked how everything was and she offered to make fresh potatoes or something else but between the wait and the looks of food, i declined and my meal was taken off the bill. That would've been enough all by itself, but then the staff comes into the picture to wrap up the entire experience in a giant (and very filling) bow!
