I don't know where to begin. So I ordered breakfast thru DD and ordered full stack of French toast and a short stack of pancakes, both orders get delivered and neither order was delivered with BUTTER OR SYRUP. What restaurant let along a breakfast spot send French toast and pancakes out for delivery with no butter or syrup. I called them up to be told that the owner was bringing me the butter and syrup. I waited outside for an hour just for him to never show up. I called them back was yelled at by one of the waitresses and called a not so nice name and then was told it was too busy and I should call DoorDash for a refund, I said that isn't gonna help me get my butter and syrup that u said u were bringing that I have been waiting over an hour for. So now my 44$ breakfast is cold and still hasn't been eaten this all started at 10 am it's now 11:51 am. It's a real shame as I have been going to the hungry hobo since I was in second grade and this will be the very last time I ever get a thing from them. Very disappointed in this place. I wish I could give it less than one star it should be in the negative. read more

My friend and I met up early and had a long day planned together, so we decided the best way to start off the day was with a filling breakfast. I've gone to many breakfast/ brunch places, this wasn't as good as some I've been to but it's definitely up there. We went around 10 am so the place wasn't so busy, there was no hostess to seat us, we kind of just sat down anywhere. Right after sitting down a waitress came up and handed us menus and asked us what we wanted to drink. She was very friendly and came to check on us about 3-4 times, so the staff was very helpful! The food did take a while, a few people came in after us and got their food before us. But we did get our coffee and waters right away, along with our refills for both. The name of the place is misleading because it says coffee shop, but it's definitely more of a diner vibe going for it. Same thing with the menu, when I think coffee shop, I think couches coffee menu, and pastries. They had much more than that lol. They menu has breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and many options for all of them. I would definitely come here again, it was close by and inexpensive. Thought we pulled up to a Chinese takeout place initially, but nope, just a little hole in the wall in a shopping strip. Ordered a pork roll (Taylor ham for us North Jerseyians) BOB: "breakfast on a bun" (so cute). The sandwich was delicious: poppy seed hard roll with cheese, pork roll, egg, and home fries. Very flavorful, but not salty at all. The coffee was good. Not burnt or watered down, it was just right. Our server started off a little rough, but warmed up and did a great job with our group's orders. Also, our coffee cups were on constant refill...always a plus. read more

I used to love the Hungry Hobo when I was a kid, but it feels different to eat there now. I used to walk in and be able to feel secure ordering and getting my stuff. But the last time I visited the staff seemed so preoccupied with the regulars that they honestly couldn't care less I was even there. I stood behind the counter waiting to order something to go for 10 mins. While the workers walked around making small talk and refills for everyone in there. Great service for them, I bet that's why they come back. Would've loved some of that, cuz eventually I just left. I left and went to Joes on the highway near Kmart. Much better food, much quicker service, much bigger portions. Sorry hobo, y'all got step it up. read more

We go there about once a week for the last three years. Food is always fresh and tasty with a nice selection. Atmosphere not so good but I know the owner must treet the staff well because most of them have been there for 5 yrs or more, and thats nice. I love Hobo food. I had Philly cheesesteak hot sandwich early for breakfast and was very filling. I tried the hobo on the roll and it was very tasty. Although the place look ancient, the food made my experience superior. I love fancy diners and cafes but this place have good selection of tasty food with fair price and portion. I will NEVER order from here again and have ordered here many times! Sent in a delivery order for my colleagues and I who have ordered from here MULTIPLE TIMES A WEEK FOR YEARS and it was never delivered. Order placed at 915 am. Money charged to my card by 927. It is now 1208 I have been yelled at by employees when I called multiple times about where my order was, told the manager is on deliveries (for hours?). Demanded a refund and was told I had to wait for the manager to return. Was told by the not so lovely waitress to wait ten minutes and he would call me. Half hour goes by I call again and I am called rude for being upset. I said I was told 10 minutes I gave him a buffer of an extra 10 minutes to eat back in. It is now almost noon and nothing has arrived how has he not returned in the building? She was going on and on about the excuses and how rude I was I got no response to my issue.
