I had a bad experience with this company. I trusted positive Yelp reviews but I am not happy with the way they handled my move. I used them to load two Upack pods for my move to California. I haven't opened my boxes yet but so far I have identified three broken items. They were very quick but their speed heavily compromised how careful they were with the stuff. It could potentially be a Upack shipping problem too but my impression from their work and also opinion from people who unloaded the pods suggests that this is primarily a loading issue. They came 1.5 hours late for a first move in the morning.I hired them because of their good reviews and wanted to make sure that pods are loaded by professional movers so that minimum damage would happen to my stuff. However, their unprofessional work was even evident before my stuff was shipped. They didn't pay attention to anything while loading the pods. They stacked heavy boxes on top of light fragile boxes, and even while my boxes had multiple arrows on each side showing the top side, they put some boxes upside down! Most of the time I was upstairs giving them instructions for the things that I planned to ship so I saw the situation when they were almost done with loading. I had two pods and only 1/4 of the second pod was loaded so they had enough space to do a professional work but they fully loaded one pod carelessly and most of the stuff that were broken were on the fully loaded pod. Fortunately I used bubble wraps, air bags, and peanuts liberally in my boxes and so far I have only noticed one broken item inside the boxes that I have opened. The workers that unloaded my box in the destination were also shocked by how carelessly they have done the work. Also, the plastic wrap they used was very low quality and got easily broken even when they were wrapping. They basically wrapped some items to show that they had wrapped them and it didn't protect the items at all. Dealing with broken wrap also increased the time they spent wrapping. They also behaved very unprofessionally when it came to dealing with my belongings. I had a couple of extra unused Uhaul boxes and they took it with themselves without asking my permission. Finally, I submitted the invoice to my company for payment and they asked for a receipt too but since they only accept cash, I didn't have anything else. I contacted Jaid multiple times but he never took the call. I used another phone to contact him and he took the call but he said he was having lunch with his kids and he would call back which didn't happen. Finally, I texted him a detailed request for emailing a receipt but he said he can't do anything beyond the invoice. UPDATE: Jaid contacted me after seeing this review and he believes that he has done a professional loading and all the things that have happened are because of the way items were shipped by Upack. He also agreed to send me a receipt soon but he could have dealt with this situation earlier. I added one star because he took the time to contact me although his terms of contract doesn't cover any loss. read more

Moving is stressful enough without lackluster (see: terrible) communication. I had a good friend recommend My Mover and my wife and I had previously had a bad experience with 3 Men Movers so we figured why not give them a try -- especially given all the glowing Yelp reviews. Unfortunately, we weren't so fortunate. As Aaron S. mentions they're almost impossible to contact. I left 2-3 voice mails and sent 2 e-mails before I finally got Jaid on the phone. Nobody ever bothered to return the initial voice mails or respond to the e-mails. After I got off the phone, I was asked to text all of my information. I text all of the information that I'd previously included via e-mail. In return, Jaid sends me a screenshot of a business card. The following day, I confirm and ask for a confirmation e-mail. I'm asked to please send all the information (again) to another e-mail address. I mentioned that I'd already submitted using the form on their website and they follow up with a different e-mail address to send my information too. Red flags abound at this point, but my buddy said they're good and the reviews are good so this experience must be an anomaly. I persisted. I sent all the information on April 5th. Nothing. On April 10th, I send another text and e-mail asking for confirmation. Nothing. This is not very reassuring. At this point, I decide I'll make one more call before going with another company. The following day I'm able to (finally) get someone on the phone who confirms my move and e-mails me a confirmation that includes a picture/infographic of sorts that explains their rates, process, etc. I've included... it's quite a mess. I almost asked for $25 off my move to upgrade that graphic for them in PowerPoint. Our move is finally confirmed. Yay. This is where they shine, right? Sadly, no. The day of the move, we wait until 9:15 (for a 9:00am scheduled move) and nobody has arrived. I call Jaid and he tells me he's not sure what's going on, but he'll call the crew. After about 15 minutes he gets in touch with the crew and evidently they had trouble unloading someone the night before so they went to do that move first instead. No phone call, no e-mail, no head's up... nothing. And they knew it was an issue the night before. At this point, this is completely unacceptable and I'm regretting the decision to go with My Mover. We scheduled the 9am move because we had another event at 3pm (and we we'd done a lot of the work ourselves and knew the move wouldn't take long). I begged for an ETA and after awhile got a response that Jose, the driver/crew leader, would call me in to minutes. After a half hour I hadn't heard a thing (surprise) and asked again. The response is that they'll be after 1pm. Great, now we're definitely missing our afternoon event. It's 11:00am at this point and so we start moving ourselves. At about 12:40pm, we look up and say, "Well they said they would call and let us know when they were on the way, but that seems unlikely so we should go back (to the apt from the house we're moving into)." We arrive at 12:55pm and then, at 1:00pm, with no warning, the moving truck pulls up. Once they finally arrived, they offered an insincere apology and no explanation for the delay. I asked multiple times and was finally told the vague story about the previous night's move. One of the movers had sustained an injury and they did proactively ensure that another team member met them at the location so that we'd have three guys. I very much appreciated this. The move itself went pretty well. The team was very fast and efficient, which did include wrapping all of our furniture. In addition, the guys were friendly and respectful of our furniture. We are missing a couple of pegs from a bookshelf (which happens), but overall, the move itself went pretty seamless. In addition, their hourly price and trip charge are both less expensive than the majority of other local Houston movers that we received estimates from. [SUMMARY]: Despite the fact that movers were quick, efficient, and less expensive than their competitors, the terrible communication was unredeemable. Moving is an inherently stressful experience and it was exacerbated by the utter lack of communication (throughout the whole process) by My Mover. If communication and timeliness doesn't deter you, they've a very capable moving team, but I can't endorse them in any way. - Are they even moving us? - Are they ever going to send confirmation? - Why are they not here on time? - When will they actually show up? [UPDATE 7/7]: Jaid reached out via e-mail to apologize for my experience. He took personal responsibility for the lack of communication, acknowledging that he was formerly a very talented mover and that moving, not business, is his expertise. I have a lot of admiration for people courageous enough to go out on their own and very much appreciate Jaid trying to resolve our lackluster experience. His team *can* move furniture. read more

They cleared a 10x30 storage in 37 minutes, including wrapping furniture and sweeping place. Packed up 1.5 bedroom apartment + storage closet from arrival to departure, in 1 hr 42 minutes. This included taking bed apart and wrapping all furniture. Final stop. Unloaded quickly no damage. Turns out they also mount TVs at the same hourly rate. Brought their own tools and put a 55 inch up like we were on MTV Cribs. I'm old I don't know the new show. Guys earned my trust. Jaid is a helluva mover and jeffe. On arrival day, Chris, the crew leader, was very professional and respectful and communicated with my husband and I, every step of the way. The POD was a ways away from our unit, but they still worked very efficiently and quickly and had all of our items packed in under 3 hours (1350 Sq Ft Condo). The crew leader, Jose, and his team, Jason and Edward, showed up on time and immediately started working. They moved our furniture, boxes, and all belongings from our third floor apartment into a U-Haul (we then drove the U-Haul to Dallas). They carefully wrapped all our furniture and strategically placed it in the U-Haul. There were no hidden fees. The quote we were given was the exact price we payed. FINALLY, a headache-free moving day. Now, I have only had to move a handful of times in my life, (thank goodness!) but doesn't it seem like all moving companies end up being a little shady in one way or another? For me, usually it's in the form of lack of communication, hidden charges or them only having two men when I thought I would be getting 3 and it's an hourly rate.... I had gotten a few other quotes before calling My Mover. When I spoke to Jaid he had given me a flat hourly rate and emphasized that they don't charge for anything else (stairs, etc). Upon confirming their availability I told him I needed to shop around a little more but I might be calling him back. He confidently replied "we are the best, you're not going to find a better deal." - well of course I had to double check that comment of which sure enough HE WAS RIGHT, hahaha! (well, there were a few Groupon/living social deals out there just a tad cheaper but I knew that would have been a recipe for disaster) Other quotes: one company estimated my total move at around $350, possibly higher (aka: unknown/hidden charges). Another sent me a quote with an hourly rate that was $25 higher per hour than My Mover, plus an $80 "travel fee" when they were only 11 miles away from me, oh - not to mention the clause of additional charges for stairs, wrapping, etc. (aka: more hidden charges). Now, My Mover did have a nominal travel fee but it was half the price of everyone else and it seems that this has become standard for movers to charge this fee (?) Moving Day: Movers were scheduled to be there around 9am. Jaid called me @ 8:58am to let me know that the movers are running a little behind but that they should be there in about 30 minutes. Cool/no problem, I much appreciated the heads-up. Well, guess what? I just checked my call history and the movers called me at exactly 9:28 am to let me know they were out front by my gate. Good timing! I was already impressed. Everything from start to finish was perfect. They were efficient and moved my stuff with care but what made them stand out was their attitude. They were professional and friendly, meaning they did not act miserable doing their job which was a very nice change. My final bill was for two hours flat even though it took them a little longer than 2 hours from start to finish. I had expected them to just round up and charge me for another half hour but surprisingly they rounded down which was awesome. Oh, AND NO HIDDEN CHARGES! I used My Mover to move from my apartment to a storage unit. This is the first time I've broken down and decided to use professional movers, and after the horror stories I'd heard about other companies I was relieved to have chosen My Mover. Jaid was incredibly helpful in scheduling the necessary services, but most of all, I was very impressed with the friendliness, efficiency and care that the two movers took with moving my larger furniture. They wrapped almost everything in blankets (which you can rent from them when they are done to make it easier if you have another stage of moving later on), and were very capable and careful when taking things downstairs into the truck. On top of that, they helped to reorganize my storage unit so that everything would fit (an impressive feat!). I highly recommend these guys, great job! read more

I used My Mover for my move this past weekend. I didn't do a lot of comparison as far as price goes because I just didn't feel like it. I think I called one other place. I was satisified that they had a lot of positive Yelp reviews and that they were resonably priced when I did call. When I called I liked that they said they would break apart and put together my furniture. That was key for me because I had no idea how to reassemble my bed because it was delivered and put together by the furniture company. I also liked that they said I could leave all of my clothes (I have a lot of them) hanging up and they would handle that. This was helpful because I didn't have to buy wardrobe boxes, which are expensive. They arrived on the set date. We started 30 minutes late but that was my fault because I had been communicating with them via my work email (which has my work telephone number) and they didn't have my personal cell phone number. I did see that they emailed and left a voicemail though to my work email and phone when I got into work on Monday. Anyway, all of that was straightened out once I realized this and gave them a call. Once they arrived they quickly got to work. There were three men and all of them were friendly and professional. I'm a woman and it was just me and my dog and I felt safe. They have these huge boxes that they out on wheels that allow them to fit a lot of moving boxes and items. Clearing the boxes took no time at all. They wrapped all of my furniture in blankets and plastic. When we arrived to my new place they were careful with all of my items. Nothing was damaged. They put together my bed and placed my items where I asked them to. They even hung up all of my clothes! That was a nice touch. The move took about 3.5 hours, which I think is pretty good. Nobody wants to spend the whole day moving. I had enough time to go clean my previous place and turn in the keys before the leasing office closed. At the end I paid and signed a form saying that all my stuff was delivered. They even had me to go look at the moving truck to make sure that nothing was left in the truck. They make note of any small damages that were there before they started the move and have you go over them. If there are any major damages (like the headboard of my bed) they let you know as they are taking it apart or moving it. They accept credit cards, which was convenient for me. I would definitely recommend them. They were friendly, professional, and efficient. I'll most likely use them for my next move. read more

Chose them because unlike 99% of the rest on yelp, they're independent and still had decent reviews -- means that they have a dedicated team that don't work for a ton of other moving companies. MUCH faster than the movers I hired the previous week and incredibly fast-paced the entire time. 3-man team moved us about twice as fast as the previous company -- previous guys were nice enough, but kept taking breaks, moved A LOT slower, and simply lacked the sense of urgency these guys consistently showed all afternoon. Ok I just used these guys and it was great service. I contacted them via their website. This company is very social tech oriented. Communications are primarily via text & maybe email. I did speak with them after I initially entered my info/reservation on their site. I mention this because some have been "put off/concerned" about the lack of in person interactions until they arrive. On to my experience. I'd texted them that morning asking they notify me when close. They did so when about 15 min from arrival which was right on time per schedule time. I walked the lead gentleman thru my apt showing what I had. I wanted to stop at my storage unit as well after (I'd indicated this when booking my reservation). No problem. They got my stuff packed, wrapped my furniture pieces that required wrapping & we were loaded in an hr. (Sm garage apt) They followed me to my new location. They had to park on street due to sz if truck & trees in driveway. Got me unloaded quickly put things where I asked/indicated. And set my tv on the wall mount id installed previously. Only had cpl large items for stg unit (located in sane street as my new location). They followed me over got items unloaded and all done in less time than I estimated. It was a 3man crew, all were quick, polite, & asked if they were not certain of placement of items. Very efficient. I recommend them. And will use them again. These guys are awesome! Very professional, quick & just so nice. My 5 year old son tailed them the entire move & they answered all of his questions & listened to all he had to say. We hired the 5 man crew & they were so fast. I think you end up saving money when you hire more guys because they are able to work so much faster. April 2013 I hired this company because they came into the complex where I was living and I notice their activity. and you talk about awesome! I watch these guys move like a tornado so when I got ready to move I had there phone number from their truck and I gave them a call and wow, the father was driving and been having a conversation with the younger gentleman I found out his name was Jaire P. I may have missed spell his first name at that time I was so impressed there were courtesy and nothing was too hard for them to handle. Hired My Mover based on the fantastic yelp reviews and was very impressed with how efficient they were! I got the three man crew and they did a great job loading up my very full 2 bedroom house and got the whole move door to door finished in 2.5 hours. I move a lot, and can honestly say this was the smoothest move I've had to deal with. Their prices are very reasonable and they charge even less on the weekdays, which meant I got a MUCH better price than if I'd used some of the other movers I got quotes from. They didn't round up the pricing at the end to get more (some movers probably would have charged me for 3 hours), and there were no hidden fees. Amazing! Amazing! I reserved some time for a Sunday move. The owner, Jaid, texted to remind me the night before and then he and his team showed up a few minutes early. They were ready. I've moved multiple times and never have I worked with a more efficient group. They unloaded a 17-foot moving truck in under an hour. My new apartment is on the 4th floor. Nothing broke. Nothing scratched. They offered to help set up more than just my bed. Staff was motivated to move, friendly and professional. They were excited to work-- even on a dreary, drizzly morning. There is a two-hour minimum. I didn't mind paying for two-hours, even though I only needed one-- Because they were that good. They come with multiple dollies and carts and huge boxes- which can be loaded with your stuff. Hire them! They are amazing!!!!! read more

I called Jaid based on the reviews I saw. At first I was a bit concerned because we were communicating primariy by text but Jaid explained to me that was because he is actually out there completing moves. When I asked for their DMV numbers and the DOT number for their truck, he had no problem providing it. I checked them out with the TxDMV and everything was in order. On moving day, Jaid and the crew were a little late which was ok because I was running late completing packing. Once they got started, they were incredibly efficient AND they took excellent care of my furniture, shrink wrapping everything. Very rarely have I had a move go quite as smoothly as my move today did, and trust me I've moved a lot. The three guys that came today were so polite, so helpful and went out of their way to make sure our move was hassle free. Not only did they move our stuff from Pasadena to our new home downtown, they even moved a couple of bedrooms around that were already furnished. At no extra charge nonetheless! They also helped load my boyfriends truck with stuff I'm moving back to my folks house. I would recommend these guys to anyone. I'll definitely be using them again in the future! read more

These movers did a FABULOUS job. My boyfriend and I were moving in together and I called them two days before the big move. They collected furniture from both our apartments and delivered it to the new place. They worked quickly and were extremely professional.
