I felt depressed, frustrated, and full of regret about the treatment decisions I had made. My previous orthodontic experience left me feeling discouraged and hopeless. Communication was poor, appointments felt rushed, and I often felt like my concerns weren't being heard. By the end, I was so uncomfortable going back that I didn't even return to have my braces removed. Dr. Bakar ended up removing them and helping me start over. Finding Dr. Bakar was a complete turning point. From the first consultation, he listened. He took the time to hear my concerns, explain what had happened, and walk me through my options. Every visit since then has been the same. He is patient, understanding, easy to talk to, and never makes me feel rushed. If I have a question, he answers it. If I have a concern, he listens. What impressed me most is the attention to detail he brings to his work. You can tell he takes pride in what he does. As an engineer, he has an incredible eye for precision, and the technology he uses is far more advanced than anything I experienced previously. The difference in treatment has been night and day. I found Dr. Bakar on Yelp because of the great reviews and detailed photos of patients' results. Even though I drive an hour each way to see him, it has been worth every mile. After many prayers, tears, frustration, and regret, finding Dr. Bakar truly felt like an answer to prayer. He came into my life at a time when I had almost given up hope of getting my smile back. I am almost finished with treatment, and for the first time in a long time, I am excited about my smile again. If anyone I know ever needs orthodontic treatment, Dr. Bakar will be the first person I recommend. My youngest had two loose baby teeth (right next to each other) that weren't coming out on their own. Today she bit into something that caused the loose teeth to suddenly shift and she couldnt bite down anymore. She was crying and in pain. Today is a Saturday and the office was already closed by the time this happened, so I text the after hours number and Dr Bakar immediately said he could meet us at the office in 10 minutes. He came in on a Saturday evening to take care of my daughter and help her get those baby teeth out so she could be comfortable again. I remember calling the office to reschedule after they had already closed, expecting to leave a voicemail, but Dr. Go personally picked up the phone and cheerily rescheduled me! During COVID, my dental hygiene was abysmal - I was constantly on cough drops and was drinking sweetened ginger tea 24/7. I went to Dr. Go after going to another dentist in Brea (Dr. T) that was not so great and wanted me to get braces first, as a full grown adult, before I could even get a simple cleaning. So...I went into the office filled with shame and dread. But Dr. Go and the staff were so incredibly warm, kind, and understanding, and my fear of judgement melted away. Come to find out later during a checkup at a different dentist, an x-ray discovered that I still had piece of a tool that had broken off during that procedure still in my tooth! I guess that's why they decided against the 'after' x-ray. Also, not sure of their billing practices, possibly unnecessary procedures because the insurance initially declined some of the work. The front desk woman even said not to worry and ignore about any denial paperwork that I received from insurance - sketchy.
