Came here after scoping it out online. Eastside Tacoma...so yea...a little sketchy. Took a little minute to get the order in because some ladies were holding up the line. Said it would be ready in 15 minutes, was a good 30 minutes. People walking all up in the kitchen from outside. Prices are pretty high considering fries and drinks are extra. Shasta drinks is what's on the menu. Sandwich is good size, lots of meat--but sadly, hardly any toppings or cheese. Couldn't really tell there was any onions or mushrooms on the Mushroom Cheesesteak, my friend (from the East Coast) got the one with lettuce, tomatoes and mayo. Said there was a lot of mayo, no tomatoes, and the lettuce was soggy. The quality of ingredients is subpar. Really just didn't do it for us. We both agree that it wasn't worth the money or the hype. We would have loved to love it though.

This is a no frills cheesesteak. It's very similar to a neighborhood cheesesteak shop you would find in Philadelphia, this is not a traditional restaurant setting. I would suggest visiting during the day, the adjacent businesses have bars on the windows, so it's probably not a good idea to visit at night. The cheesesteaks are very good, if you enjoy a traditional Philly Cheesesteak.

I love a good Philly Cheesesteak but not are all created equal. I've been to Pat's and Geno's in Sooth Philly, so I hav e a pretty good idea of what a GREAT philly taste like. My Philly was really good. A lot of meat, cooked to perfection. There was cheese but it's mixed in, not slathered on top. Nonetheless, it was a truly hearty and tasty treat! Lady working was nice! Worth a stop-in for sure.

I really wanted to like this place. First, for being open since June(10 months), would think they have there operation in working order. Not sure if it's due to Grub hub orders or not. Anyways, lady told me food would be ready in 15mins but took over 30mins. Not sure if it was the time I arrived but restaurant was empty and mostly to go orders. I ordered full Deluxe Cheesesteak, full Mushroom Cheesesteak, and Cheese Fries with Steak. Food tasted okay but would have been better if they put the cheese on the sandwiches. Also I wouldn't recommend the Cheese Fries., it was too salty for my taste. Maybe I just picked a wrong day to come by.

Best philly I've had on the west coast. If I had to guess I would bet the owners are from or near Philadelphia.

The food is my favorite part. I can have a beer anywhere, but the food is actually pretty on point minus the nachos, sad to say. Always overcooked, cheese is hardened and well beyond melted, but a massive portion in size. The sandwiches are amazing, the quesadillas are amazing, have yet to make it there before breakfast ends but I'm betting it's probably pretty good. Staff are friendly, efficient, and do well on checking to make sure you're not waiting too long for service without being too bothersome. It gets a little loud, busy and crowded on nights especially on the weekends, but that's typical bar atmosphere. Patio seating is nice on sunny days like today. 5/5 for a hometown spot in the neighborhood.

But then we looked cross the street on 1st, where there used to be an Anthem, and even though it was already 6pm, this sandwich shop was still open and...there was a BINGO game happening. Whaddya know? So we took a peak in and they were not only serving sandwiches but they also had a cooler full of microbrews and kombuchas, beer on tap, wine, and a whole list of cocktails made from prosecco and other non-hard liquors like Amaro. Truly something for everyone. So we gave our order to the sweet human at the counter and took our seats I'm not kidding, my Amaro sour was one of the best cocktails I've had in a while in Tacoma and so were the pretzel sticks. I want my cocktails cold, tart, and refreshing with a little kick of funk or herbs and I want my pretzels salty. You wouldn't think that's such a high bar to clear but you'd be surprised. Sandwich Starr nailed it. Our Zatan sandwich was tasty but even though the bread felt a little stale. Otherwise the decor is kinda '90s coffee house and they've got bingo! Overall, this is an odd spot but the drinks are really good and it's got heart and it's the heart that makes it Tacoma.
