This is a no frills cheesesteak. It's very similar to a neighborhood cheesesteak shop you would find in Philadelphia, this is not a traditional restaurant setting. I would suggest visiting during the day, the adjacent businesses have bars on the windows, so it's probably not a good idea to visit at night. The cheesesteaks are very good, if you enjoy a traditional Philly Cheesesteak.

The Food was HOT OFF THE GRILL it was fresh and seasoned too perfection the Setvice is amazing the lady that took our order was VERY patient and even gave us free drinks, these Philly's are huge whether you order the hard or the whole it's alot.. can't wait to have them again

I love a good Philly Cheesesteak but not are all created equal. I've been to Pat's and Geno's in Sooth Philly, so I hav e a pretty good idea of what a GREAT philly taste like. My Philly was really good. A lot of meat, cooked to perfection. There was cheese but it's mixed in, not slathered on top. Nonetheless, it was a truly hearty and tasty treat! Lady working was nice! Worth a stop-in for sure.

I really wanted to like this place. First, for being open since June(10 months), would think they have there operation in working order. Not sure if it's due to Grub hub orders or not. Anyways, lady told me food would be ready in 15mins but took over 30mins. Not sure if it was the time I arrived but restaurant was empty and mostly to go orders. I ordered full Deluxe Cheesesteak, full Mushroom Cheesesteak, and Cheese Fries with Steak. Food tasted okay but would have been better if they put the cheese on the sandwiches. Also I wouldn't recommend the Cheese Fries., it was too salty for my taste. Maybe I just picked a wrong day to come by.

I'm reallllly sad. Truly...Truly. Sad. They CHANGED THEIR MEAT. And don't tell me you didn't...cause you did. I know 'cheap, low quality meat' when I see it. Let alone taste it. It is DEFinitely that cheaper 'meat'. That thin, course, tasteless '120- grit..sand paper' textured....paper meat..stuff. I should have taken a picture but was so pissed it got tossed on the second half last visit but... If you take a picture of what your NOW getting compared to the picture I show (where you could literally see the 'grain' of what was then --'the beef') you can SEE the difference. Good people fo sho' BUT they compromised greatness. After the two pictures of previous visit orders... They hit me twice afterwards wit that mess but that won't happen again. Bet.

Best philly I've had on the west coast. If I had to guess I would bet the owners are from or near Philadelphia.

I've had several things on their menu and some of my favorites are the chiptole turkey melt sandwich and artichoke dip. I love how soft the bread is for the sandwiches. Service is usually quick and attentive. I love to visit for good vibes, food and drinks!

The vibe was cool and all but the experience was kind of unconventional, to me at least…read more Unconventional because as a 1st time customer, I didn't know if I had to sit myself or wait so I felt kinda awkward. No welcome or anything or a "hey just sit anywhere you want". So I just took initiative, grabbed a menu and sat at an empty table. There's a sign that said "order at the bar" but the barkeep would go to other people and ask what they wanted. Okay, that's fine... Trying to follow the rules so I don't single myself out, I went to the bar and was asked for my ID, but why? I wasn't ordering drinks and when other people came, the barkeep didn't ask the other customers for their ID so I felt some type of way but whatever. We proceed to order the Philly and Mac & Cheese. Philly tasted great because it also came with dipping sauce. The only thing lacking was that I felt it wasn't enough. Plus It seemed like I had more bread as opposed to meat. Mac & Cheese was great also, it was soft and creamy plus it had crunchy bits. It had the consistency of valveeta cheese. We asked for the check, we waited, waited some more so I finally went to the bar and closed the tab that I didn't order drinks with, just food. I like the vibe, its like being in a classic tattoo studio with posters on the wall with classical prints from different time periods. Not a big establishment or room inside but just enough to have a modest amount of 30 people. It's a nice joint but not really for me, I'd probably order through Uber eats with this place.

The food is my favorite part. I can have a beer anywhere, but the food is actually pretty on point minus the nachos, sad to say. Always overcooked, cheese is hardened and well beyond melted, but a massive portion in size. The sandwiches are amazing, the quesadillas are amazing, have yet to make it there before breakfast ends but I'm betting it's probably pretty good. Staff are friendly, efficient, and do well on checking to make sure you're not waiting too long for service without being too bothersome. It gets a little loud, busy and crowded on nights especially on the weekends, but that's typical bar atmosphere. Patio seating is nice on sunny days like today. 5/5 for a hometown spot in the neighborhood.

Years ago when she ran this bar it was the best in town and she would not let this food to be served. I will go the Huckleberry that she owns with two other steller partners and enjoy their food. The cook should check the soup pot on a regular basis to ensure that the chowder is hot and ensure that the fish is at least 135 degrees and let it warm up to over 140 degrees before serving. Jamie if you still own the Top please look into the kitchen and bring back your great menu.

A…read morelot of places don't hang around too long and that spot in particular has seemed hard to keep in business. But then we looked cross the street on 1st, where there used to be an Anthem, and even though it was already 6pm, this sandwich shop was still open and...there was a BINGO game happening. Whaddya know? So we took a peak in and they were not only serving sandwiches but they also had a cooler full of microbrews and kombuchas, beer on tap, wine, and a whole list of cocktails made from prosecco and other non-hard liquors like Amaro. Truly something for everyone. So we gave our order to the sweet human at the counter and took our seats I'm not kidding, my Amaro sour was one of the best cocktails I've had in a while in Tacoma and so were the pretzel sticks. I want my cocktails cold, tart, and refreshing with a little kick of funk or herbs and I want my pretzels salty. You wouldn't think that's such a high bar to clear but you'd be surprised. Sandwich Starr nailed it. Our Zatan sandwich was tasty but even though the bread felt a little stale. Otherwise the decor is kinda '90s coffee house and they've got bingo! Overall, this is an odd spot but the drinks are really good and it's got heart and it's the heart that makes it Tacoma.
