    Chicken Shish Kebab Lunch

Stopped in for a late, dine in lunch before leaving town and was glad I did. Ground meat app - it was like a quesadilla, but better. Nice chew to the bread, great spice on the meat, tzatziki dip. Yum! Chicken Shish Plate - just the right amount of food. Chicken had a nice char, chickpeas in the rice, salad was not for me. The pre meal bread was a great start to our experience. So glad I stopped in, you should too/

From the moment we walked into Kervan, it's felt cozy, upscale, and it looked beautiful inside. If you're looking for a nice spot to celebrate a special occasion, a romantic date night, this is your place! Our server was absolutely fantastic bringing a delicious freshly made turkish bread to our table. Between the fresh and tantalizing Shepard Salad, to the savory, delicious Hunkar Begendi and Isekendar, everything was insanely delicious and beautifully presented. And we finished up with dessert which was out of this world, I highly recommend the Kazandibi which is absolutely delicious. We will absolutely be back here again very soon!

A lovely dining experience at Kervan tonight. The menu is extensive, the service attentive and everything we ordered was delicious and satisfying. Complimentary bread was brought twice. We really appreciated this gem of a restaurant!

Our party of six adults went to Kervan last night. What a wonderful experience it was! Kervan is a Turkish restaurant in downtown Lincoln Park occupying the former site of 202 Bistro. The brothers who ran 202 opened a brand new restaurant, Arca, one block down the street and simultaneously closed 202, around a year ago. Kervan remodeled extensively inside, taking down walls and opening up sight lines, giving it a much more open, brighter feel that really sets a nice mood. Our server Barca and all his accompanying staff help were great. A glass was never empty and a used dish was frequently whisked away and replaced. Language barrier was little tricky to navigate but with some patience and simple words that was overcome. The host gave us menus but pretty quickly Barca recommended he take them away and just bring out a bunch of food we would like. We were a little apprehensive at first but after he confirmed food interests and allergies, we sat back and waited. What happened next was a five (or six?) course meal of epic portions, flavor and variety. I've included pics of almost everything we were served. Bread, salads, grape leaves, hummus, lamb, chicken, beef, lamb chops, rice, three deserts. We enjoyed everything. And took home a bunch of leftovers. The price point for our experience was very reasonable, coming out to $60 per adult including tax and tip. Also as a byob it's nice to be able to bring your own favorite adult beverage. I will definitely return to Kervan in the future and I completely recommend you try it out as well!

I went here with my Book Club. Service was good and the food was delicious. Recommend the Chicken Kafta and hummus.

The food is delicious! We ordered lahmacun and pide, both amazing. The staff were also very friendly. I really liked the open layout.

Its English name comes from a Greek legend: Zeus had an affair with a beautiful woman named Io. When Hera, his wife, discovered his infidelity, she turned Io into a cow and created a horsefly to sting her on the rump. Io jumped clear across the strait. Thus, "bous" = "cow" and "poros" = "crossing place": Bosphorus = "crossing place of the cow." Located off of busy Franklin Avenue in Nutley, my partner, our friends, and I have decided on our dinner at this family-owned-and-run BYOB establishment, which has been open since 1995. A reservation was made for a party of 4 by calling their restaurant. Upon arrival after three years, we were welcomed by Nora, the owner, and made our way to a table by the piano inside, evoking a cozy, thoughtfully designed, upscale vibe with music playing softly. Their menu features Turkish and Mediterranean cuisine. For starters, we decided on the Puffed Rill Pastry and Grape Leaves. Our main meal consisted of all lamb dishes (Lamb Shish Kebab, Beyti Kebab, Lamb Chops, and Lamb Sauté). Our food was fresh, well seasoned, and cooked to perfection, accompanied by a beautifully presented dish. Everything was authentically made with love here. Wish we could have stayed for dessert, as they looked amazing, but some of us were in a rush. It's definitely on the higher end cost but worth the taste. Our visit ended with a hug and a piece of candy.
