We moved to this neighborhood about 7 months ago, and this restaurant--right at the junction of 202 x main rd--has been calling out to me ever since. Didn't really get a chance to visit until today. We got some good news, and I truly believe in celebrating on the same day. So we got ready quickly and drove 1 mile (haha yes, just 1 mile). It's super close to where I live. It was a cold winter night, and as expected, the restaurant was completely empty. From the outside, it doesn't look very big--but once inside, it actually is. There are two different seating areas and one separate space for parties/bookings or multipurpose events. The ambience was good, warm and inviting. We got our desired table easily and started browsing the menu. There were lots of options. we ordered: Kerven Mixed Grill - $60 It was a mix of everything, 1 skewer of Lamb kebab, 2 pc lamb chops, 2 pc meatballs, I replaced beef shish with lamb again, and Gyro The presentation was very eye-catching. The dish comes with fire in the middle and meats placed on both sides -- looked amazing. It's a lot of food for two people, for sure. Overall, the dish was 5/5, except for the lamb chops.They were cooked medium-well by default, but I personally prefer well-done. Other than the lamb chops, everything else was great: It also came with sauces, and they served balloon bread on the house, which was a nice touch. One thing to note: the meat gets cold pretty quickly, and once it's cold, it's not as enjoyable--so definitely eat it while it's hot... Stopped in for a late, dine in lunch before leaving town and was glad I did. Ground meat app - it was like a quesadilla, but better. Nice chew to the bread, great spice on the meat, tzatziki dip. If you're looking for a nice spot to celebrate a special occasion, a romantic date night, this is your place! Our party of six adults went to Kervan last night. What a wonderful experience it was! Kervan is a Turkish restaurant in downtown Lincoln Park occupying the former site of 202 Bistro. The brothers who ran 202 opened a brand new restaurant, Arca, one block down the street and simultaneously closed 202, around a year ago. Kervan remodeled extensively inside, taking down walls and opening up sight lines, giving it a much more open, brighter feel that really sets a nice mood. Our server Barca and all his accompanying staff help were great. A glass was never empty and a used dish was frequently whisked away and replaced. Language barrier was little tricky to navigate but with some patience and simple words that was overcome. The host gave us menus but pretty quickly Barca recommended he take them away and just bring out a bunch of food we would like. We were a little apprehensive at first but after he confirmed food interests and allergies, we sat back and waited. What happened next was a five (or six?) course meal of epic portions, flavor and variety. I've included pics of almost everything we were served. Bread, salads, grape leaves,hummus, lamb, chicken, beef, lamb chops, rice, three deserts. We enjoyed everything. And took home a bunch of leftovers. The price point for our experience was very reasonable, coming out to $60 per adult including tax and tip. Also as a byob it's nice to be able to bring your own favorite adult beverage. I will definitely return to Kervan in the future and I completely recommend you try it out as well! read more

This restaurant is gem if you love Mediterranean food. The service was fantastic and the food even better. Their bubble bread is a great addition to the table and so good with the grilled olives, definitely recommend getting the lebnhi to pair with it. Gracious owners provided the most attentive service- really, top notch. I had a terrible experience and felt sick for two days I wanted to eat something on the menu I advised my waiter I have a very sensitive stomach. I take all omeprazole on a regular basis to help with the stomach issues I have. my waiter advised me not to pick what I wanted but pick something else because the item I wanted was too spicy. I listen to him and ordered something he recommended hoping it would be OK. I had started my meal and I saw what I thought was a green pepper and cut a piece off and took a bite and I guess it takes a little while for it to sink in and swallowed but it was extremely spicy and I found out that it wasn't a green pepper it was a jalapeño. I drank some water and some bread to try to soak up the spice in it but unfortunately did not help. at that point I stopped eating he came over and asked if everything was OK. I told him it wasn't ok and that my stomach was upset from the jalapeño. I also asked him why they gave me a jalapeño when I already advised him I have a sensitive stomach. His response was he told the chef and that's the way they made it. He said he would get me some Taziki sauce that would help offset the spice which he did but that had no effect. I went home my stomach was still very upset I took some Gaviscon to try to treat it and drink some coconut water but it would not help. It made it difficult to sleep and waking up this morning my stomach is still upset from last night. on Saturday I had a birthday party to attend but did not go because my stomach was upset and did not want to cause further damage. read more

We went on a Saturday night and had great service and attention. The restaurant is BYOB and they were not rushing us. We loved everything but the balloon bread was amazing. Pide bread was quite good too. We had a wonderful large salad to start. One person ordered the whole grilled branzino. It was gorgeous, others had combination skewers, one great vegetarian stew and a grilled salmon steak, excellent coffees and 4 spoons to share the pumpkin pudding! Definitely will go back. We ordered about 6 different dishes to share and everything was spectacular - from salads, to brick oven, to mains. We were 6 total with 2 kids and ordered Cheese Pide, Greek Salad, Hummus, Grape leaves, gyro, Iskender Kebab & Stuffed Cabbage W/ Meat - and every last bite was a hit. Place was incredibly clean and staff was so attentive and accommodating. Even gave us a dessert of our choice on the house. We have lived in an area where Turkish and Mediterranean food were very popular and well done, and this was absolutely some of the best food we've eaten in a while. Someone else brought us food and disappeared too. We got a bus boy to fill our water. Sat 20 min with our dirty dishes, empty glasses and menus still on the table. I was at Kervan few days ago on a Friday evening. Our group was on lent, and tried only seafood. There were several choices of seafood items were available and all we tried were really good.
