My mother and I went to Marinka these last few times for make up, and she did it flawlessly! First time in my life I left completely satisfied with my makeup. She did the exact look that I asked for, neutral-colored Smokey eye with a lot of lashes. I got so many compliments that night as well. Seems like all their family and friends wrote all their reviews! I walked in on a Sunday to get my makeup done and TERRIBLE experience. The moment I walked in a lady with short hair approached me speaking a different language and the only thing I understood was how disgusted she was by the way my hair looked! I got my hair done elsewhere the way I always style it and in her BROKEN English she asked if I paid for my hair and if I wanted them to fix it. If I wanted you to fix it I would have asked!!!! IF YOU ARE NOT MIDDLE EASTERN do not walk in! They do not speak English, they are RUDE! NO ONE has a license! I am appalled by their behavior. How dare you make me feel ugly on my special day? I loved the way my hair looked and you just ruined my entire day. She later realized what she did and chased me down the street to apologize. Shameless. I will never return here! I can't say enough great things about My Salon. This is a very unique salon. From the very beginning, I have had the best experiences. The first time I walked by My Salon, (apparently they had just opened for business), I had gone to several other salons that day to do a totally last minute quick touch up on my hair but none of the salons could take a walk in. Ani, the owner was standing outside and she approached me with her friendly smile and said hello, how are you doing, how can I help you? I said I need a root touch up, can you do it in an hour? She said yes, we actually can do it in 20 min! What?! She set me up with Shoushan who would now be the stylist I go to at least 1-2 times per month for the last year since they've opened. I will never forget that day because I really needed to get my hair done and not only did Shoushan do it but she gave me a a really cool braid after. I have to say, I can't thank Ani enough for introducing me to Shoushan. She is the best and I love her!! She is not only talented in color, styling and cut but she has such a beautiful heart. I would recommend Shoushan to anyone because she can do it all and do it well and give you a great experience as well. She will also always do her best to fit you in her schedule. The people that work at My Salon all work so well together and the environment in general is the most welcoming and friendly salon with super star talent AND it feels like family. I was in Glendale recently for a business trip and needed to look fabulous. It was getting late and I was running out of time. I found My Salon on Yelp and called. They said they would stay open for me. They were wonderful! Patsar was my stylist. She stayed late and took great care of me. My hair looked fabulous by the time she was through. It took quite a while, but she worked on me until it was perfect and even fed me chocolates along the way. Because @melostouch was booked after my own 4 a.m. bridal hair appointment, I had to book someone else to do my mom's hair. I booked ( @veronique__hairstylist ) to do my mom's hair. Veronika was an epic failure every step of the way. - After my mom had scheduled to have Veronika check out the extensions about a week before the wedding (the ones that were to be used on the day of my wedding), Veronika was 3 hours late to the scheduled appointment. She shamelessly blamed traffic, and assured my mom that that would not happen on the day of my wedding. - The night before my wedding, Veronika contacted my mom to let her know that she "had hurt her hand and so [she] could not do" my mom's hair the next day. Veronika said to not worry though because she had arranged for her friend to do my mom's hair instead. - Veronika's friend's name is Lilit Grigoryan ( @hairstylist__lilit). She was supposed to use all of the extensions to create a voluminous ponytail for the bride's mom. When my mom came home from Lilit, she was on the verge of crying, but trying to stay strong so that the bride's mood was not negatively affected. The more blunt guests could not help but ask what the heck happened to my mom's hair. The ponytail was not even gathered together neatly. Some parts were brushed unevenly, and sprayed to stay in that uneven way. The ponytail back was worse than the front. Lilit just used ONE of the whole pack of extensions. So, it was one really long thin strand of hair, and the remaining 90% of my mom's ponytail was my mom's own natural shorter hair. My mind is absolutely blown why anyone would do this--even an untrained child would understand that having a single 2 centimeter long strand alongside thick strands of hair that are all about 4 inches shorter than the single extension is not a good look. After the bridal home ceremony, but before the church, thank goodness Melo's Touch was able to take my mom and fix her hair. Melo completely undid the mess Lilit had done. Days after the wedding, I messaged Veronika to share the embarrassing photos of what Lilit had done, and the before and after Melo fixed my mom's hair. I asked for a refund of the money we had paid Veronika and Lilit because we had to also pay an entirely different stylist to entirely re-do my mom's hair. Veronika has refused. If you want to look like your flower girl did your hair, go to this salon. If not, RUN FAR AWAY. If your hair matters, RUN FAR AWAY. read more
