We ordered take-out from here for the first time today. I would eat here again--but I would definitely go for "mild" on their spicy scale. I ordered medium spicy Pad Thai and it was inedible after a few bites. I had to toss it out, unfortunately--the heat kept building with each bite until it was unbearable and the food's flavor completely lost. I'm no hot-pepper-contest guy but in most groups of people I eat with, I tend to be more tolerant of spicy food than most. Watched my grandmother give him a $50 and he gave her $12 change. We asked him why we got so little change and he said "tax." My mans tried to charge $13 tax. Crazy. The food was terrible they served watery curry on a paper plate and it was something like $20. It was a beef and mixed vegetable curry. The beef was dried and super thin they only put in two vegetables some green beans that were hard as a rock and three pieces of green bell pepper. It tasted terrible. No effort at all went into making this dish. I asked for my money back and she acted like she was crediting it back but the credit never came through, so for lunch for me to have that terrible dish and my husband had something else that was super mediocre it was almost $50. Completely ridiculous. I would never go back. She wasn't surprised in the least when I asked for a refund. read more

My favorite dish, Pad prik King, wasn't on the menu, but they had many similar stir fry dishes, so I asked which was closest, and they said they could just make my favorite for me!!! $5 food at Capitola Village? Yes, please. Add authentic to it and that's a win. While strolling, noticed to-go full dish at $4.99. Really? Cynic in me thought that must be appetizer or something. Turned out, no, main dish. Since running out of time, it was perfect. My choice was veggie curry over rice. Omg. Simple delicious. Really need to go back for a sit-in. Incredible view too. Nothing like a place that closes a half hour early and then makes you feel like you're rude for coming in on a "busy day so we closed early." I didn't say a word but heard some smug comments on the way out. Personally, I think if you close 15 minutes early, I can understand. One of the few Thai spots in the bay with great flavor AND heat!! The staff are always friendly and kind. And the location is perfect, just make sure to get parking further away as parking is limited. Lastly, don't sleep on the mixed vegetables dish. Came here after a day at the beach for convenience. Pizza My Heart is my favorite spot in the area, but we couldn't justify waiting about an hour to eat, and we wanted someplace to sit down after being in the sun all day. My phone's reception wasn't great and I couldn't load Yelp or Google Maps at the moment, but I remembered when I had checked on it earlier in the day, Yelp had displayed a Thai place in the area that rated 4 stars -- turns out it was another restaurant a block away called Thai Basil. Next time I'm in Capitola, maybe I'll consider going there instead. My Thai Beach was pretty empty, which should've been a sign already. We were seated right away, customer service was standard (not great but not bad), and the prices were reasonable. That's about it. The food was not all that great tasting. We ordered spring rolls which came with what I expected to be peanut sauce but tasted very sweet and coconut-like. BBQ chicken was the only thing that tasted decent, but the portion size was small. The pad thai was extremely bland and flavorless. I was very disappointed by the quality and taste of the food, and opted just to eat a small amount for sustenance so I wouldn't be hungry while the rest of my friends were full. Later in the evening, I had stomach aches that kept me up, which may have been a result from eating here. My friend also had stomach aches that night. Not a strong enough case of food poisoning to need to go to the doctor, but enough to make me never want to set foot near this establishment again, and enough for me to warn you. read more

This place has the highest quality food, fresh made at a reasonable price, in the Capitola Village. My kids loved everything too. Be patient, they are family owned and operated, and sometimes it takes a little longer than some high producing restaurants but worth the wait. They also have an oceanfront view from inside their restaurant. I highly recommend this restaurant and supporting local, family owned restaurants who cook real food from scratch. Yummy! I can't believe it took me so long to try My Thai! Extremely reasonable prices, especially considering the location. The service was amazing.......friendly and fast. The lucky stars aligned on my birthday and I had the day off from work ;) I decided to head to Capitola for a nice daycation and stopped by My Thai Beach. I already knew I wanted Asian Thai food that day and decided to stick close to Capitola Beach. My Thai is next to its bustling neighbors, Pizza My Heart and Zelda's. There were a couple people inside the restaurant already when I arrived around noon. What I noticed immediately was its quaint interior decorated with a plethora of Thai-related photos and paintings mounted on the walls. It was definitely an enjoyable eclectic collection of visuals! The kitchen/front counter area was to the left side and a row of tables and chairs located on the right side. The back (or front however you're looking at it) of the restaurant had long windows where you can see the gorgeous seaside view! I decided to sit down at a small 2-seater and ordered Pad See Ew beef and Thai Iced Tea. I noticed that this was a local mom-pop joint, and there was one male server/cashier and a female cook running the whole place. Unfortunately as nice and polite as they were, the service took way too long. There was only 1 cook and about 8+ customers waiting for their food and during a lunch rush, it can get overwhelming! Eventually, my noodles came out piping hot fresh but they mistakenly gave me chicken instead of beef, no biggie. Their Thai iced tea was also watered down but I gulped it down anyway. Overall, the pad see ew was mediocre as the sauce was not as savory or rich in soy sauce flavor. The stir friend noodles were nothing to rave about but their chicken was moist! They also added Chinese broccoli and other veggies, instead of the usual broccoli. I ate about 3/4s of it and booked the rest in a to-go box. Prices were reasonable as well and my meal came out to be under $15. Portions were sizable but I'm a glutton, so more food always makes me happy :) There could be better options for Thai food around Capitola, but nothing beats the ocean view here! If you've tried authentic Thai food in the past, you would be disappointed here. Curry is kind of watered down and not thick as usual. We also ordered beef pad thai and pineapple fried rice. It was ok. Expected more flavors like what I am used to. Definitely DO NOT order any of the boba milk teas. No taste and no flavor and it was warm:( Portions were small for the price they charge. We had Thai Tea from here. Unfortunately, didn't order any food since we just got pizza from next door. Their Thai Tea is so cheap, I think the cheapest I've had. It was really good. I love how comfy and "homey" this place feels. Definitely want to come back and try the food, once indoor dining is safe. My only concern is they literally had the Thai tea in a jar that was sitting inside a Coleman cooler. That's a first for me, thought that was odd but it didn't really bother me too much. Also, the woman that served us was very sweet, and as for food choice, I recommend getting a curry, it was very flavorful.
