    Pad see ew with tofu
    Alana K.

My friend and I came here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. We arrived around 1:15pm, and there were plenty of tables available. We shared the pad see ew with tofu and the ton yum tow hoo, which was a stir-fry with tofu and mixed vegetables. We liked both dishes, but the pad see ew was my favorite. Service was decent, but it was difficult to get the waitstaff's attention at the end (despite it not being that busy) and we had to ask. Overall though, a great meal!

This is one of the few completely vegan restaurants in Boston and I've always had such an amazing experience every time I come here! I came with my family on a busy evening where I could tell they were a bit overwhelmed. There was still ample seating available, as the restaurant is quite large. The seating is very comfortable with a lovely ambiance. The service was very friendly, helpful and prompt. We ordered a large variety of items, starting with the tom yum soup, tom ka soup, the tofu cigars, mango curry, pineapple fried rice, and the nest. I loved every single dish we got and the spice level was perfection. The crispy bird's nest was such a standout with the savory stew inside. I also really love the mango curry "chicken" for having a lovely contrast of being sweet and tangy. The veggies were also so soft and juicy. The cigars were a unique dish as well and I enjoyed the crispy outside and soft exterior. I also go the honeydew boba tea without the boba. I liked how it wasn't overly sweet and was creamy and refreshing. It was very easy to get to with close proximity to the T. I cannot wait to return again on my next visit to Boston!

I love this hidden gem in Chinatown. The entrance is a bit interesting bc it's a dingy flight of stairs to the cafe. But the cafe is super clean and big. It is filled with a lot of plants and very cozy. I got the Tom yum soup and Thai iced tea which is almost a slushy. Everything was super yummy and can't wait to come back here again.

Another incredible dining experience at My Thai Vegan, they are the highlight of our trip every time we go. We brought along some omnivores this time who did backflips upon tasting how incredible their food was.

Omg, vegan Thai food? So hard to come by even vegetarian Thai food. This place is awesome. They are serving up comforting vegan renditions of classics like pad see ew and much more. The papaya salad and the summer rolls were nice lighter options. The tofu added to the papaya salad was excellent.

My Thai Vegan cafe is in Chinatown, Boston. The restaurant is on the second floor and has two sets of stairs you must ascend. Little narrow and steep but not bad. Just to let people know who may have trouble going up stairs. The interior has some plants by the windows. I think it was the husband and wife there in the late evening. There was only one other table that had patrons, so I was seated promptly, given my water, and the menu. The menu is all vegan and features an unbelievable huge menu. A lot of vegan meat dish options. I personally like that the menu is all plant-based, but when the menu is that large- chance is that there's a couple common bases with some modifications to create new dishes. My pad Thai was rather plain looking but tasted nice. The spices helped. Started off with the fried wontons, which were fine as well. I think that the strengths are that the place is entirely plant based, and there's no danger of having fish sauce or something that could make a seemingly vegetarian dish at a regular restaurant not so vegetarian. The food is fine, but it's honestly not wow. There were blogs that do recommend this place, and it's a good option for plant-based people in Chinatown area. But if I gave it a rating, I would give it a 3.9-4/5. Good, but not great. The total with the appetizer and the dish was $23.00 I did tip extra to show my appreciation. Out of 10, it's a solid 8.

After watching a movie at AMC Boston Common 19, my friends and I were looking for a place to grab dinner. Since one of our friends is vegan, we came across My Thai Vegan Cafe and I'm so glad we did. This restaurant only serves vegan dishes. My Thai Vegan Cafe is located in Chinatown on the second floor. Going up the stairs of the building looked kinda shady and smelled weird, but the restaurant is spacious and has many greenery. When we arrived on Sunday evening, there were a few tables taken but we were seated right away. We ordered a few dishes to share and everything tasted delicious. The tow-hoo tod (crispy tofu cigars) was very crispy and sauce was very good. The pad see ew and pineapple fried rice was very good and flavorful. The pad thai wasn't as flavorful as the other dishes so I probably wouldn't get that again. Portions were a great size. Service was friendly. I would come back here.

I tried pineapple fried rice which was pretty dry and bit bland. I was expecting something with more flavorful but pineapple did not add much taste. The staffs were bit distant and not too much welcoming but by no means rude.

Don't you even think about letting the outside affect your inclination to immediately visit My Thai Vegan Cafe. Located up some questionable stairs on the second floor of a non-descript building in Chinatown, this unassuming vegan establishment is worth MANY visits. -Ambiance: what one would expect for a small, local business that places emphasis on the food, not the extras. That said, very comfy with a great view (because second floor). -Staff: friendly, welcoming, forthcoming with trustworthy recommendations. -Food: yes yes yes. Oh yes. EVERYTHING is vegan. EVERYTHING. As such, one can order vegan shrimp, vegan beef, vegan chicken, vegan duck, vegan pork, vegan veal, tofu, seitan, and bubble tea made with plant based milk. And we did. The steamed dumplings are packed with vegan chicken and veggies, beautifully seasoned, and accompanied by not ONE but TWO delicious dipping sauces. The Pad See Ew Plus (plus means you get multiple vegan proteins - definitely do this) was prepared expertly. I could have used a bit more sauce, but otherwise it was perfect. My dining companion raved about her yellow curry noodle soup; I tried a bite and it took most of my willpower not to steal it from her. -Value: excellent. For delicious, vegan, Thai food in Boston, absolutely worth it. I'm considering making many trips back to Boston with the sole purpose of trying many more dishes. You probably should too.

She was so excited when she found Cafe Bonjour because they had several gluten-free options on the menu. We took an Uber there right after we landed and were able to walk right in and get a table when they opened, which worked out perfectly because the place started to fill up! It's a cute little spot with plenty of seating inside, and they also had a nice outdoor parklet that would be great in good weather. We asked to sit at the bar so we could watch the cooks in action, which was really fun. It was really chewy and gritty. I got the eggplant and mushroom bowl. I am saying this as someone who loves eggplants and mushrooms, they were just ok. It was kinda goopy, and then being paired with the crispy rice it was just a weird mouth feel. As for the flavor- they drowned it in that sauce which overpowered everything. The price point is really good for lunch in boston, but honestly I wouldn't get it again.
