Absolute worst car care customer service I have ever experienced. He told us one price, we paid that, then gave us an additional cost day before we picked up car and then added an additional cost (more than 1000) to the job for us to get our car back the next day and had made our key fob go from working to the button missing and no longer functioning. Now we have to buy and program a new key fob ($250). He did additional work without approval (which is illegal in Texas) but we wanted our car back after him having it for a month telling us it would be ready repeatedly and then wasn't. Jay is a liar, scammer and should be fired. This place is part of Yes Automotive. They have a BBB sign on the door but they should remove them. NEVER use this shop! read more

Don't take your car here! Total con-artist. Had my transmission replaced for $3000- less than 3000 miles later, one of the refurbished parts went out. Luckily it was under warranty. Had it replaced and it went out again. Then they told me it was my cars computer was bad and that was the reason the transmission was going out. Wanted to charge me an additional $2000 to replace. Told me it needed to be replaced or it would go out again. I took it to 2 different places and they couldn't find a thing wrong with the computer. And the computers history was conveniently deleted. They also damaged the exhaust manifold bolts and didn't fix the problem correctly - broke the bolts, over tightened them and they left it unsealed causing a major exhaust leak. They also replaced my shifter cable, less than a month later that also went out. Come to find out they used the wrong part. Avoid this place. read more

Took to another shop and they had to replace motor mounts and fix spark plugs. $1600 for mounts and plugs. Can't even figure out who to talk to surely no one at the shop. Owner maybe???? I brought 2 trucks here in the past 8 years. Keep in mind, transmission repair is NOT cheap. Many auto repair shops take the vehicle to another shop. The first one was repaired in 3 days, drove another 50k miles with it (past warranty) and sold the truck to a friend that continuously pulls trailers with it. The 2nd truck was repaired and given back in 3 days. I drove another 7k miles before I started having problems. I took it back in and it was repaired under warranty in a day. Yelp should add a negative score rating. Never use this place! It's a Lemon! Better spend your honestly earned money somewhere else! I had a transmission problem last year fall, got it inspected and re-done, it took time, several 'comes back' with problems and 4k+ of cost. Also, they offer 24-month warranty on repairs, I thought it's a good deal. Then I enjoyed my ride for a couple of months. Later, early in the year, my car started to stop suddenly at traffic lights, and I came back to the place suspecting transmission issues. They kept my car there for a week, and said, 'no transmission problem, you need to tune up'. After spending time tuning up and investigating, other mechanic concluded it was transmission. Coming back again, and sent to mechanic next door, those people say, yes, its transmission, and - specifically torque converter fault. Then, they HAVE to GET it BACK to fix what they did poorly last time. And what do you think, for TWO MONHS I was getting FED BY 'NEXT WEEK', 'TOMORROW' and 'I WILL CALL YOU LATER'. Finally, I just came in and took my car back. The place have nothing to do with honest expertise, its about getting your money in exchange to poor service, and the ones who dealt with them before like me should get their MONEY BACK! read more

About 1 year ago I had got into an accident without coverage. I was refered here by my mobile mechanic. Interesting to still have issues. Brought my vehicle to be inspected because I've felt every shift. I still do to thus day. When I brought it in to be looked into, but next morning received a phone call that it was ready. The guy said nothing was wrong. When the codes came back that I needed a new crank shaft sensor and a battery current sensor, I was told I must fix these first to fix the transmission. They were confident and set on that. Now im not a mechanic and completely understand the complexity of transmission rebuild. Lots of parts. Ive had my own scan tool to read codes for three years now. A battery change or disconnect after letting power drain for 30 minutes will stall the car on first start as expected. Which will also include codes that go away after the second start up. Crankshaft sensor being one of them. Not my first vehicle that ive had this experience. As for the battery current sensor? I had a bad connection. Cleaned it up and havent had any issues with electrical since then. I have 0 codes and do preventable maintenance as should. As for the transmission? Still the same. I eventually got it back to normal by bringing to another shop after MANY hours of research of houstons transmission shops. Found one that had it fixed in 3 days. When I got it back they were confused on why the previous mechanic repaired it the way he did. It feels brand new as if I just bought it. Now, before you change your choice of which shop to allow repairs, which I believe you should, let me briefly explain in a way that might fit your position. If not, keep shopping. Not ever vehicle comes in this shop will leave with issues still remaining. Everyone has a different experience. My car is on the newer side. The mechanic industry is constantly changing. Many brands are changing the way they do things and its the mechanics job to keep up with it. $2800 for the cost of repair. They tow your vehicle for free from where ever your are located in the houston area. If you are struggling to get by, the shop offers payment plans and you can get you car back. You must sign a mechanic(Garage) lien for assurance that they will get paid or they WILL take back the vehicle. I give the shop 3 stars simply because it allowed me to get back on the road and to school to rebuild funds. Because of their work, I graduate HVAC-R in 3 weeks of a year program as well as got my transmission fixed. Now in a completely different financial situation than I was a year ago. Not every shop will offer a lien on your vehicle. Actually, a lot of them that i was interested in did not. If your in a bad spot then i would recommend the shop, but not without knowing possible outcomes. Everyone wont have the same experience. Be smart. Do your own due diligence. Buy a cheap code reader. Drive safe. Thank you transmission experts for the learning experience and getting back on the road to finish school and find a better job to continue my path. Minus the pros and cons of my experience, I would not be in the spot I am now if I didnt choose this shop. STOP!!! DON'T BRING YOUR CAR HERE!! I brought my truck here which was very overpriced to fixed. I had to get it done asap, I picked it up 3 days later and within a week the transmission went out again. I brought it back they "fixed it " drove it for another 2weeks and it broke down again . I ended up taking it back there 3 times . The last time I brought it back, Gary was very rude and disrespectful. I told him if it breaks down again I'll take it somewhere else and Gary told me to go F myself. Wow!!! Very unprofessional to talk to a customer like that after spending $3200 dollars on my repair's and then needing to bring it back 3 times. I reached out to corporate and they have yet still have not called me back, this place is a joke and very very unprofessional and the office area smells like cigarettes which I walked in and Gary was smoking a cigarette . I had a great experience getting my new clutch, flywheel, master, and slave cylinders fixed! Thomas is the manager and went above and beyond to make sure I knew exactly what was wrong with my car. He even texted me pictures to point out the problem. I wish all mechanics would do that to keep us consumers in the loop. My car has 167,000 miles on it and with the new clutch and other parts, I feel like I'm driving a new car. I'm a fan! read more

By far the worst auto shop and to go even further, company I have ever dealt with in all of my 38 years of age. I have been provided so many lies by this company I will not be able to list all here only the few major ones. 1st and most important, I brought my vehicle in after the check engine light came on and I noticed something wrong, I googled the closest automotive shop near me because I was worried about damaging my vehicle further by driving it. I provided all info I could to the manager Thomas, 3 days later he sent me 3 text of what he explained was my transmission in bad shape showing all of the damage. At this point he provided me a cost that I was not confrontable with and asked him to hold off. He called back 10 minutes later stating he wanted my business and decided to drop the cost $800. On Feb 3rd I decided to let them do the work. between Feb 3rd and Jan 17th I called 7 different times to see why my car that was suppose to be completed in 7 working days or less hand not been completed. On the 17th I had still not received a call so I decided I had to go in to figure this out. Scott the "New" manager on site stated at that time my vehicle was done and they had simply not had the time to contact me. I am totally fine with this. I drive the vehicle off the lot only to get 10 miles down the road and the check engine light and same problem is happening again. I called and Scott stated it was best that I drive the vehicle for a few days with my check engine light on to see if the problem will correct its self. I stoped immediately at Precision Auto Repair and told them what Scott had just asked me to do. They agreed with me that you should not be driving your vehicles for days with a check engine light on. I drove vehicle immediately back to the shop expressed my concern. From Feb 17th to Feb 25th I called another 6 times for an update, I had no return calls so once again I drove to shop to force a conversation. At this point another "NEW" manager was there Jeff. I was able to video our entire conversation, Jeff stated he was "brought from the corporate location to clean up this shi* show" and that Thomas nor Scott were with the company any longer. I expressed my concern that I did not believe any work had been done to my vehicle and his response was that he had concerns too. Jeff expressed that he had brought a new technician that he could trust in and was going through all cars transmissions to see what if anything had been done. At this point I was still going to give them the benefit of doubt they could make this right. Then Jeff showed me his computer screen and stated why my vehicle was not on the top of his list, they had over 15 vehicle ahead of mine, so I asked how they could possible be ahead of mine, his response was that I had brought my vehicle in on Feb 17th and they were before me. At this point I lost all faith if they could not even keep track of when my vehicle was brough in (*Jan 31st) then how could they possible fix anything. I decided at that point this company was not competent enough to work on my vehicle and I wanted to know if any work had actually been done to my transmission. I asked for my keys so I could have vehicle towed away to another shop, they lost my keys, "seriously". my guess is. Several attempts to prevent this from going to small claims court by a reasonable conversation showing my evidence to the owner Sam. He just like all of his managers will not return a call. Please Please Please, do not use this company In fact their is an extremely reliable company in Livingston called Guys auto service, if you would like HONEST and RELIABLE. I suggest leaving Houston all together especially My Transmission Experts. They are the absolute worst company I have ever ever dealt with. read more

I had a very similar experience as Previous C with Gary in August and September of last year. I trusted him at first. He was unresponsive and never returned phone calls for status updates. I had a new transmission put in and when I finally got the car back it continued to have the same problem as when I initially brought it in. I had to take out a lone to get this done. He refused to look into what the problem was and said he didn't have time to drive customers cars to replicate issues. I finally payed off the load an the car as it turns out had issues with the throttle body and was recalled by Ford. read more

Crawford didn't not fix my truck he did diagnostics and he assured me the repair we'll fix my issue my truck came back with abs lights doesn't even go over 15mph the same problems are all still there with even more problems he kept telling me mybe there's a short some where so I left it there to see what's going on he went and got RID OF MY TRANSMISSION GOT ME A JUNK YARD TRANSMISSION PAINTED IT AND THEN HE GOIN TELL ME ITS A BRAND NEW REBUILD BUT guess what same exact problems stayed there , I'm telling y'all I won't even let him rebuild a blender motor . I love this place! The manager (Thomas) is one of the nicest and most honest guys I have ever met. I brought my Volvo in for a complete transmission rebuild and a few complications popped up along the way... Thomas did a great job of keeping me informed as to what was going on and even called me to come down to the shop one day so he could show me the issues that were going on. Car repairs are never fun to deal with, but I'm thankful I took my car to a place that does great work and takes an upfront/honest business approach. I couldn't recommend this place anymore. DO NOT EVER BRING YOUR VEHICLE HERE!!! YOU WILL GET HOSED OVER.......CUSTOMERS BEWARE!!!!! Jim Hernandez is a con artist. I took my vehicle in for one issue, gave me a deadline, and a week later I had to go in and see what the status was, just to be told "oh ya, its done. my guys are waiting to see if there is a leak in it, its been driven 3 times and you will be able to pick it up by 5 today." (now mind you the entire truck was covered in dust/dirt, as if the vehicle had not been driven in days) Picked the truck up by 5, and drove to the store. On the way to the store, the dash lit up like a Christmas tree (abs, breaks.... all of it). Pulled over and checked breaks, good... E break pedal....NO E BREAK!!!! Now mind you, I had to get an inspection on the vehicle before I started having Transmission problems, so it was working. While driving back home, vehicle started doing the same thing. initial diagnosis was the transmission needed to be rebuilt. The next day, arrived at 8am, and explained the situation, that vehicle was doing what I initially brought it in for. Few days later, went back to be told that a wire to the speed sensor was loose and that it was tightened and all is good now. So, like an normal person, started thinking.... If I brought it in for the same issue that happened last night, how did the transmission need to be rebuilt. Got home, looked under the vehicle, and now have a dripping oil leak. Immediately took the vehicle back, and while waiting in the lobby another dissatisfied customer said not to go there because they are scam artists, now our turn to talk, and was told that they did not cause that but will look into it. As I proceeded to tell Jim Hernandez what I thought of him and his services, I told him what I saw happening and the SCAM he is running on people. After the first time taking my vehicle back, requested a parts list that was ordered to do the rebuild, and was told he would get the list.....Still to this day...NO LIST....Funny right? only further proving the scam he is running. Got my vehicle back, and was told "as a courtesy," he changed the oil pan seal, to keep his customer happy (OH, happy is the last thing we are with this place), and that it was wiped clean and all is well. As you can imagine...NO all is not well. My vehicle is now leaking oil even worse, and still NO PARTS LIST....Crazy huh!!!??? read more

Stay away from this place!!! I came here three times and was never seen. The floor manager plays dumb. The first time I went I called to check if I had to set an appointment before I went. I was told I didnt, but to come in by 4:30. When I came around 4:15, they didn't have enough workers to work on my car. So the second time, I requested to set up an appointment for Saturday at 11:00. My husband got there around 10:45 and was told they were out of supplies. Today I came in at 4:00 (third time) and again was told they won't have time to work on my car. But I should set up an appointment for Saturday!!! You just lost customers. Horrible service read more

very very bad owner gary, he called us out (said you people ) and basically said that we lied about our car not having issues. we just took it for a freakin transmission flush, if something else was wrong that we knew...he would have been informed so we could get it fixed...why would someone lie? he got into an argument, close fight with my spouse and was rude. i have never encountered a small business owner like this. he was on high alert with me when i was very calm and professional. i have never and can t stress how upsetting his attitude was. he angered us and i will report this to the bbb, it may not matter to him, but it should...learn to speak to people... very bad experience and still disturbed. read more

The Katy shop is very bad. Jim H is a snake oil salesman. He will not honor commitment. He will ask to drop transmission for analysis. At this point you committed to their repair. The +$4K transmission rebuild build cost. Also, he slipped the schedule commitment by 10 days. They do not return calls. You must visit the shop daily to drive schedule. Always excuses for decommitment (part availability, defective part, mechanics leave work early, etc.). read more

Nice office manager, but I have taken my truck there 2x and both times the repairs have needed additional attention or repair by someone else within weeks or months. I will not be taking my truck there again. The first time, within 2 weeks of them rebuilding my front 4x4 differential, I noticed one of my front CV shafts(replaced a few months prior) had to be replaced because the boot was torn.........cost me an extra $300+/- to replace...........the 2nd time, I had my front hubs/bearings replaced by them and within 7 months, they had to be replaced again, this time I had someone else repair. I found out that the hubs/bearings were budget, low-grade parts installed by Trans Xprts. Trans Xperts said they only carried 90 day warranty. My previous bearings lasted 55,000 miles, and the new repair shop I just went to offers Lifetime Warranty on their parts/labor for repairs. read more
