Do not go here. I have had glasses for 40 years, this is the first time I encountered where the staff did not bother to assist you when you picked them up to make sure they were right. They are not, the left lens I can not clearly see through. They wouldnt even take responsibility for saying the lenses are made by my insurance companies lab? And then want to make me wait two weeks before they will even look at them to confirm the issue and return them to be fixed? Very poor service. The doctor was fine, it is just her front of office staff and policies of this company they are pathetic. Also I understand they want to charge you if there is any defects in the frame, where anyother company will back up the merchandise they sell with the odd screw or nose pad, ext. I got a brand new set of glasses on 1/17/24 and the side leg came off. The join broke off. I paid almost $500 after insurance and not even a month and gone. Unbelievable, when I went to their store thinking they will repair it....... nooo they told me I had to pretty much buy a new pair. Another $500 more. Stay away from that place :( read more

I just had a TERRIBLE experience! Despite having had many years of good service at this store, something significant has changed. I arrived for my 5 pm appointment. The woman at the desk appeared extremely disorganized, frazzled and looked like she had not showered (very messy hair and an odor). She seemed extremely confused and told me my insurance only covered an eye exam and nothing else (she is wrong). Since I knew I had received a hang-up on my cell phone from MyEyeDr, I asked her why she had not called me. She said she did, but I didn't answer. I asked her if she left a voicemail, she said no that she was too busy. Well great, because I could have looked up all the info and brought it with me if she had been a professional and left me a message. Then she literally said, "Look, I wasn't here yesterday and I have no idea what is going on." REALLY?!! She continued to be rude and argumentative, and I told her I was not going to speak with her anymore and would go sit down hoping one of the two nice gentlemen that I've worked with there previously would assist me. After waiting over 15 minutes for my appointment with absolutely no recognition, I asked one of the gentleman if the woman at the desk would have anything to do with my exam. When he said yes, I left. I will never return to that location. That woman (I'm told she might actually be the manager) needs a major attitude adjustment. She also needs better hygiene. Absolutely horrible and disappointing service from MyEyeDr. You should replace her immediately before you lose all your customers. The most aggravating part of all is that I tried to hand her my insurance card and she said it wouldn't help -- except that the RX insurance info is right on the card with the tiers and levels of payments. I went there to look for a pair of glasses and I am very picky and don't know what looks good for my head shape. The lady that was helping me was super kind and took her time to get me the perfect one. We tried on a lot and she helped me with everything. Very disappointing. I ordered lenses, was given a "promise date" (their words) and when the promise date came and went I never received a phone call. I called to get an answer and was told it was shipping the next day and they would call. Same excuse a day later. They never called. Still waiting. Krimingis is an absolutely excellent doctor. Very personable, calming and explains everything thoroughly during the course of an eye exam. He's the reason I have been coming back to this location for about four years now. (I used the MyEyeDr in Vienna for a few years prior to that, and they also had a good doc.) All of the staff are extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. My only real issue with MyEyeDr is the same issue I have with all of the eye exam chains -- they really make their money on selling you expensive frames and lenses. Now, I have a need for anti-fatigue lenses and decided to go with MyEyeDr's recommendation and let them make the glasses. As many of you know, designer frames and specialized lenses at chain optometrists can cost upwards of $400 a pair. It's really frustrating. I recently got my prescription sent to me from MyEyeDr to try out one of the online retailers. $50 for the same prescription and a larger selection of frames. PLUS they get me the glasses shipped directly to my house in less than a week -- I had to wait TWO WEEKS at My Eye Dr. to go back and pick them up. I'm hoping the online glasses are just as good as my expensive ones. If so, I may never do more than just the eye exam again and then order my glasses online. Pro tip: The optometrists won't send you your pupillary distance (PD) measurement with your Rx when you request it. Most of them cite liability claims, but I think it's BS and they probably just want to make it difficult to not buy glasses from them. There are plenty of iPhone apps that do a good job of helping you measure this. read more

I am a contact wearer, and my typical doctor is in Hagerstown, MD, but during the week I work in Leesburg , VA. recently I found myself with a ripped contact and an hour away from home. luckily I got the years worth of contacts and this office was able to help me out with a spare! it only being half a mile down the road from my office was an added bonus! highly recommend this office, very clean and everyone is so friendly and helpfu! read more

I wish that I had checked the reviews before I made an appointment here. The doctor had zero personality or bedside manner. She only spoke in a whisper, and I did not feel as though she listened to me at all. The office staff took it upon themselves to locate my medical insurance online and not check the vision insuance which I had provided for them (well over a week prior to my appointment). When I asked why they had not checked my vision benefits I was told that "sometimes benefits are really hard to get." I was then told that I couldn't check out and leave because they did not know what copay to charge me. She asked if she could write down my credit card and charge it later. Ummmm. No. I wanted to buy frames but was unable to because they had not obtained my benefits yet. They assured me that they would save the information and that I could order them in the New Year. Of course, when I called today to order them, I was told that they had not saved the frame information and that I would have to return to the office to order them. I hesitated to post this review, as I still don't have my written prescriptions yet. I'll be returning to the office in 2 days. Let's hope they make this right. Probably the worst experience I have had with an optometry company. Hannah Luecy, one of the associates there, is extremely incompetent and rude. She has no sense or care in her work or the customers that she deals with. I have to say, she probably gets almost every piece of information wrong with customers when dealing with crucial and vital information. She couldn't spell or get any of my information right and was being rude when overtime I had to repeat myself with the correct information. The establishment itself is noteworthy of having extremely bad customer service. If you want quality service and your eyes checked out the right way, I would advise you go somewhere else. read more

I had the worst experience here a few weeks ago. I had attempted to order contacts, and never received a confirmation call regarding them, and if they'd arrived. I called back a few weeks after the fact, and was told they were never ordered, although I did pay for them. I was told they would be in that Friday. I went to the office on Saturday, a day after they were supposed to have arrived, and was informed that there were no contacts under my name. The manager, I believe, was rude to me, and informed me that the person I spoke to regarding my order, was misinformed about my having payed for the contacts...that apparently was a different order. I was fairly understanding up to this point...but THEN when I requested a pair of contacts to get me through the next couple weeks until my new order arrived, I was told that the Dr. was with an appointment, and that I'd have to wait. No apologies for the inconvenience...just a LOT of attitude. After 5 minutes (they said I *may* have to wait up to 20) I told them to forget my order, and that I would be taking my business elsewhere...this My Eye Doctor, and office staff is definitely not worth the headache. I now go to the Springfield location, and they are WONDERFUL. Great customer service...so if you can, choose another location! read more

I went to pick up my glasses and the door was locked an hour early. Employees inside saw me and just smiled and laughed. It feels even worse considering that when I chose my previous frames, the man who put them into the system put in a completely different pair that was supposedly discontinued. I am super impressed with how the office has changed for the better! Empathetic and caring optometrists didn't even blink when my daughter was having a hard time (anxiety). They are patient and kind. I had such an amazing experience at MyEyeDr. My experience started in such a convenient way. You are able to make appointments online at MyEyeDr.com. I love that because I honestly hate making phone calls. I was so impressed at how quickly I was able to get an appointment with Dr. Krimigis. I asked for an appointment as soon as possible as I had lost my glasses and they had availability in less than a week. This is extra awesome considering I was a completely new patient. When I arrived for my appointment, the office staff greeted me and gave me a quick form to fill out. I filled it out, turned it in and within a couple minutes was called back to start the appointment. We started with the air puff test and the retinal image (whoa fancy!) and then I got to meet Dr. Krimigis who tested my vision. He then went over all the results with me, including showing me the retinal image. Then I went back out to the office area to meet with a man about choosing new glasses. I so wish I got his name but I didn't. This guy was phenomenal. He went above and beyond to make sure I was a satisfied customer. He noticed that I wasn't falling in love with any of the frames and I had previously mentioned that I loved the glasses that I lost. They carried that brand but didn't have the exact frames I owned. So he got the name of my previous optometrist, called them and found out the model number of my glasses (and some measurements too!) He then called some corporate MyEyeDr. sales number to make sure we could order that pair and sure enough, we could! He told me it would take an extra week or so to process probably because the frames weren't in the store but that was fine with me! And they actually came in less than two weeks. I was also 100% informed of all the costs, insurance benefits and warranty options. We discussed various lens options and my glasses helper was really patient with me as I had lots of questions about numerous costs and types of lenses. He priced out all options for me so that I could make a decision that best balanced my needs, wants and finances. In the end, I also ordered my first pair of prescription sunglasses! I had a ton of questions about those and also received a lot of helpful answers. Those were delivered to the store within a week of purchasing! I love that when your glasses (or contacts I suppose) are ready, you can opt to get a text to your phone! So convenient. I am so happy with my experience at MyEyeDr and will be recommending the Leesburg location to anyone who needs a new eye doctor in the area. read more

I was really happy with my experience. Marcos Chavez was able to deal with a complicated insurance issue, took care of that professionally and fitted me for a nice pair of glasses. The staff was dressed professionally and behaved professionally - that's important to me. I do have to wait about a week for my new glasses, but it's no emergency. What else? Marcos offered a variety of options for anti-glare materials, scratch proofing and the like complete with pricing. There was no pressure to get a higher priced option. He took time to listen to my concerns and at the end presented me with a detailed statement of the services and options for that day. I will go back to them. read more

I've got a challenging prescription. Brought it here and they worked to fill it, but the results were not good. Then the optometrist here re-examined my eyes and made change to the prescription. Results were great - best glasses and best vision I've had in years. Great people with great attitudes. They also know how to maximize insurance benefits, and kept my payment down. Great service, received more information from my eye doctor than previous appointments at other eye doctors and he was very through in going over his recommendations for my contacts which I've worn for years. He gave examples and explained the difference between them gave me some trial lenses and I ended up going with the brand that he recommended 2 years ago and have been very happy with them ever since! I also appreciate that he takes the time to go over previous brands with me that I've used checks to make sure I'm good with the ones I've been using and gives me trials of newer contacts that have come out for me to try. read more

I took two of my teens in during the very busy end of December. Despite the frenetic pace of handling procrastinators like myself, Jason was very accommodating. I received polite confirmation calls. Check in was hassle-free. Eye doctor was friendly and knowledgeable and happy to give is opinion if asked. We discussed contact lenses for teens and I was happy that he did not automatically side with either my daughter or myself, but gave pros and cons and suggested we get a pair of glasses we're happy with before checking out contacts. It is to be expected that different employees will have different levels of experience, personalities, etc. I was happy with both young men who reviewed our choices, measured for frames and basically sealed the deals. Both, despite the very busy atmosphere, seemed like they were trying to make this a positive experience. Both were apologetic that the glasses may take up to two weeks, given the holiday and end-of-year rush. We received a phone call exactly 10 days (not business days) later to inform us our glasses were in and ready for pick up. Overall a very positive experience. My only complaint would be the frame prices were higher than I'd like but that has little to do with the staff at the location. read more

I used to go there (2011-15, at both the Leesburg and Gainesville locations). The doctors are pretty good, but the prices are all really high. They claim to be good with insurance, so they probably just have high prices for everything (services and materials both). Also, they always (and I mean always) run behind, so 6pm appointments get taken back at 6:30pm. read more

Not the best place to go. The doctors are decent but the "General Manager" and other staff are awful. I worked at an optometrist's office in the past and am very educated on different kinds of lenses that I can choose to buy. They pressured me to buy the more expensive contacts, which I didn't. Then when I inquired on different lenses for the glasses I liked, he told me that there were only two choices of lenses (when really there are more, he just wanted a better sale). He consistently refused to show me cheaper lenses. Very rude, not much customer service. read more

Ridiculous pricing. I called to set up an appointment and asked what the cost was for eye exam (and I wear contacts, have for the last 10 years). I was told the eye exam was going to be $40 which is what I was expecting, but the kicker came when I was told that In the state of VA it is required to have a contact fitting and consultation every year which would cost $150!! I gave the girl the wrong debit card number and she tried calling me twice to correct that, which I appreciate. I just got it resolved and my contacts will be in tomorrow. We had a great experience at this location. Dr Lisa Ibrahim was very patient with my son, and so knowledgeable about his eye care and special situation. The reception was friendly as well. We purchased two pairs of glasses - and the eyewear consultant Marcos was very knowledgeable during the selection process. He helped us find the perfect frames for my son, and also helped us find the best deal (since we had to purchase both contacts and frames). Also, I found out that they have technology here that provides the same service as dialating your pupils (but is actually done through a picture instead of the eyedrops my son was dreading). Our last eye dr was not aware of this - which makes a big difference to me. Very happy with the service and will definitely be back! read more

I am really not happy with this place and these peolpe. First of all I bought two pair of lenses spent over $600.00. After using one of the pairs wich was only sun glasses (prescribed), the material is peeling off (cheap plastic shade) so I used my warranty on those glasses, they said it will take up to three weeks to get it back, so three weeks and 2 days I called the office to find out about my glasses, an associate told me he does not understant why my glasses where not there, took my phone number and said they are calling me back in 10 minutes, three days after someone called me and said that the glasses were sent back to the lab because didn't past "quality control" which is BS they could tell me that on my first call if it was truth! Called 2 weeks after my first call, they gave me the same story, the person who I was talking just didn't know what to say, she told me that the technician was going to call me in ten minutes. I finally called four days after my second call (this is my third call) and once again I heard the same story, I could handle anymore, tha lady who answerred the phone told me that the lab called in the morning saying that my glasses are going to be in the store this Thursday, NO ONE in that store takes care about their patients or clients, they are there just to get your money, the worse thing is nobody calls you with updates or anything, I DON'T RECOMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL! read more

The optometrists are great. Last year my experience here was amazing. This year it was not. I came in multiple times to get a correct fitting for contact lenses. They were aware of my budget. Finally called the front desk staff to order and they told me that it would be 1000 dollars. Looked online and it was only 600 for the brand and for my script. We'd had a couple of not-so-great experiences with MyEyeDr in the past from employees that were not accurate or refused to listen our requests and only stayed with them because they take our insurance. This visit was a complete turn-around-- they've really changed for the better. Tina assisted us (she was in Leesburg, instead of her normal Reston location) and was very professional as well as kind, patient, and personable. She gave advice on frame type and her prescription lens measurements were accurate.
