I ended up returning three pairs of prescription glasses and, after having a second exam from an ophthalmologist, was told WP made my prescription nearly twice the level I needed. It's about quantity of people coming through the doors, not the quality of the exam.

My experience today was with a fourth-year optometry student who is two weeks from graduating. She was kind, clear in her communication, patient, easy to talk with. The doctor who came in afterwards to do her own checking was bubbly and fun, but also thorough, checked on a few things the student had done, asking how the student graded a certain test she did, then shared the 'grade' she gives--small difference. It was a two-hour total experience--exactly how I was told it would probably be when I did the phone registration. Best thing about costs is they DO accept Medicare, I only paid $25 to cover dilation--not covered by Medicare.

Odd since the only info you need for an appointment is the patient's name and birth date. The remaining "personal" information would be the policy holder of the insurance which would be me. Pretty sure my 21 YO doesn't know who the insurer is, my birth date or the last four of my SSN which is what they need to submit the insurance claim. Not sure that the less than user friendly staff understands the concept of HIPAA in this context. I am the person providing all the of the "personal" information.
